Giolito, Lopez, and Rodon all have high FIP, xFIPS, and SIERA, whats the reasoning in thinking they're going to be better next year? Obviously, this is their first full season in the majors (other than Rodon) and they have the talent to improve and live up to their pedigree, but what numbers are we looking at that says they'll be better next year?

Unless the roster is plagued by injuries, they should have added too much talent to be as bad as last year. The defence was top 10 last year and we not only retained Vic and Fuller but added Mack. The offence and probably the team's record is going to live and die by Mitch's play, development and Nagy's schemes. I expect it to be kind of slow the first few weeks while everything gels, I expect the second half of the season to have a better record than the first. I say 6-10. Yeah, its only one win better but there's going to be growing pains with the offence early on.

I don't like Stanton going to the Giants. His power numbers would drop playing there 81 games a year, plus the 8-10 at SD. Obviously going to Coors and Chase helps a bit, but still. Stanton is good defensively though (+45 career DRS in the outfield) so he'll be able to man it well.
