  1. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Oct 1, 2015 -> 01:09 PM) Hawk is the only one that should have a guaranteed spot next year. He is a legend. He's the one that should not have a guaranteed spot next year.
  2. Of the 16 original teams: Sox are 13th. http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/ We're not that far behind Cleveland and Detroit though.
  3. Didn't we try that was Swisher, and Hall? That team did make the playoffs, but Swisher's welcome was worn out.
  4. Had some blood sausage and head cheese tonight. Pretty good.
  5. I live 250 miles east of Chicago, but almost every Cubs' fan I've ever talked always seems clueless about baseball.
  6. Olt will be our starting third baseman when we win the world series in the next few years.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 4, 2015 -> 05:41 PM) Nightengale thinks Kevin Towers. Jesus Christ, doesnt anyone learn from others mistakes
  8. I think its this one. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/rosen...903-column.html
  9. If you're going to lose; lose big. Better the pick the better.
  10. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 30, 2015 -> 09:33 PM) This year gets worse by the day. At least he's out of the division?
  11. Has anyone even bothered to check Arendo's stats away from Coors? Home: .300/338/534 103 wRC+ Away: .253/289/431 95 wRC+ Can't hit away from Coors, and at Coors can only manage a 103 wRC+ in his career. Kid is a great at third, no doubt (+60 DRS in three seasons), but we need more lumber. We already have the poor mans version of this in Saladino.
  12. Between Hawk's one year as GM, the strike, white flag, threatening to move the team, loyalty, firing Himes, sportsvision, etc. Just terrible.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 09:06 PM) The White Sox offered the Red Sox announcer a job for 2016? That is what I saw, yes.
  14. I've heard rumour (not from a great source, but he does work in tv for the red Sox) that the Sox offered Orsillo the job for next year yesturday. So if what the royals chaps said is true, we may hear something soon.
  15. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 11:01 PM) If facts have anything to do with the determination, his legacy as owner of the White Sox will be a very poor one, even with the accomplishment of 2005. Agreed.
  16. Maybe because I live in their fan territory, I can't root for the Tigers. Ever.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 09:55 PM) Cubs might be the second best team in the NL and most of their core group has green dicks. What happens when Soler's and Russell's offense catches up to their D? My goodness. At least with the Cubs arrival we can bump a damn hockey team from being the class of the city. Go on....
  18. Having Hawk hurts the brand more than it helps. Who is going to want to watch losing baseball on TV with an old fool on the mic.
  19. Aren't all the broadcasters in their last years of their contracts?
