I was looking at the "spin" for ESPN Insider today and it said that "Garland has become a pretty reliable fantasy option over the last couple of months. He's got a 3.42 ERA over his last 12 starts, with 24 walks and 49 strikeouts over 76.1 innings." I always expected him to get his ERA in the mid 3 range sometime soon. And he has a chance this season to do that. He seems to be a little more confident in going at hitters like he did last year when he dominated Boston. I feel comfortable with him on the mound now the way he's pitched.

Man I liked what I saw from Colon today.

Ordonez went 3-4 today and raised his BA to .304. It's been awhile since we've had a guy hitting .300 this season. Maybe it's a sign of a power surge in our offense for the rest of our season. The team ERA is pretty good too. Pitching is the one thing we didn't have in 2000.

Jumping ahead of Minnesota today is big. Because if they start winning against the Royals, the White Sox would be gaining if they win and would be ahead of Minnesota trying to capture KC and not the Twins. The Royals play the Kittens while we play the Rays. So it's time to gain some ground.

I think we really can gain some ground today. We can jump ahead into 2nd with Minnesota facing Freddy Garcia when they are pitching Rick Reed. We also have to hope Kris Wilson and his 4.99 ERA is outdone by Tim Hudson. If we get 5 back we have a chance of overtaking 1st place the next time we play Kansas City.
