  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 03:42 PM) FarrellBall FARRELL BALL #Jays are still interested; Just don't want to give up Nicolino or Syndengaard along with Deck RT @FarrellBall Anything more on Floyd? I can't help myself I keep checking this guys tweets because I love the Blue Jay's pitching prospects. If the Sox got an offer for any two of McGuire, Nicolino, Syndengaard or even Drabek, I would take it.
  2. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 03:57 PM) Deck isn't even the best one, right? Depends on who you ask. Some has Deck ranked #1, others have Norris, Nicolino or Hutch.
  3. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 09:15 AM) At some point I really think KW will sell low on Floyd and sign Jackson. I am not sure why or what to think of this but that is what I think will happen. The whole Edwin Jackson free agency fascinates me. He's never been a free agent before and been traded for a billion times. Obviously people had previously wanted this guy but then there is the whole Boras wrinkle. I gotta imagine the whole Blue Jays/Red Sox interest in Floyd is stemming from Boras demanding 4 years for E-Jax and them rather having two years of Floyd.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 18, 2012 -> 01:07 PM) No team is likely to give up MLB-ready top flight guys for Floyd. Either you have to target lower level guys or you have to target a guy who you think you can turn around if you want to hit a major score. I get that I just don't see the Sox doing it. Trading Frasor for young guys is one thing, but doing so with Floyd is a full fledged rebuilding year and I don't think he'll go that direction until the deadline.
  5. I heard he is more of soft-tosser...anyone know his pitch repertoire? It can't hurt to add pitching depth I guess
  6. QUOTE (TheHugeUnit @ Jan 18, 2012 -> 12:30 PM) Sox have probably the 10th best system in baseball. As a Yankee fan I say they don't get enough credit, it's not as good as the Yankees but they're stacked in the lower system. Thats good but from the White Sox perspective would you want a few lower level guys for Floyd? Seems like completely giving up which I don't see KW doing especially with the V-Mart news.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 18, 2012 -> 12:31 PM) I'd take the BJ's personally. I would think the BJ's would be a better fit because of their young, but more advanced pitchers. (Drabek, McGuire, Hutchison) But maybe AA is being difficult so good for KW to go to a rival and drive up the price.
  8. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jan 18, 2012 -> 11:32 AM) jonmorosi Jon Morosi Source: #RedSox still showing interest in Gavin Floyd. #WhiteSox 3 minutes ago Bidding war between BJ's and Sox? Any interesting Red Sox prospects? I admit I don't know a lot of their system
  9. My short answer to this is no. It's also my long answer.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 18, 2012 -> 09:01 AM) Soler is also years away. Definitely. That would fit our rebuilding/prospect collecting off-season philosophy. Notice I did say he would become our #1 prospect. Hopefully he'd hit the majors right about when Rios's contract comes off the books.
  11. I am excited to see what he can with the peace of mind of a full year in the majors. He could be a great piece of this offense for a long time.
  12. I would much rather have Soler then Cespedes personally. Scouts think that Soler has the higher upside and he would be much cheaper than Cespedes. Let the Cubs, Marlins and Tigers (hate them all) get into a bidding war over Cespedes. Soler would instantly become our #1 prospect and best position prospect by a mile.
  13. The high ranking on Thompson made me look up his stats and I gotta say, I was impressed with the power. He still strikes out far too much but he has decreased his K percentage every year and adding in his power and defense I think he might be a real prospect.
  14. 1. Addison Reed, rhp 2. Nestor Molina, rhp 3. Simon Castro, rhp 4. Trayce Thompson, of 5. Jake Petricka, rhp 6. Keenyn Walker, of 7. Jhan Marinez, rhp 8. Tyler Saladino, ss 9. Juan Silverio, 3b 10. Ozzie Martinez, ss Thoughts? The bottom half is interesting to say the least...
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 10:27 AM) Would y'all have done Jackson + Viciedo + Reed for Rasmus? Absolutely not. He is "widely available" and I doubt the Jays pay that much in prospects for him.
  16. SI_JonHeyman Jon Heyman #stlcasrds targeting e-jax (plus others) for rasmus. So they want him. Deal could happen w/i day. Big powwows now. #tradedeadline Why couldn't we get this done? Instead we choose a 33 year old reliever??
  17. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 10:12 AM) @SI_JonHeyman - Word is, #bluejays may spin e-jax to #stlcards if get him from #chisox @DKnobler - I hear if Edwin Jackson, Teahen go to Toronto, good chance they don't stay there (i.e. get flipped to third team). And yes, third team would likely be Cardinals (Rasmus) I'll be so pissed if this is in the case. Unless Blue Jays include stud prospects that we just don't have...
  18. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 10:08 AM) Not when uncle Jerry is requiring KW to trim payroll. I don't see how they will pull this off because De Aza is up...they need a corresponding move.
