  1. Martin a bit all over the place in the 1st. He's shown the curve, changeup and obviously the fastball. Gave up a hit and walked a guy but out of it unscathed. For those wondering, his fastball readings (according to the gun) have been all of 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, and 96. But not in that order.
  2. Moncada bomb to right CF.
  3. W-S delayed start due to weather too. No Yolbert tonight for Charlotte. Colas still out as well.
  4. Maybe a bit telling on the personality type, but the Cannon Ballers announcers mentioned interviewing Mena and asking him his biggest baseball influence, and his answer was "myself."
  5. Here's the Mena compilation from yesterday.
  6. Fangraphs on Davis Martin if you missed the prospect list. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/chicago-white-sox-top-28-prospects-2022/
  7. https://www.milb.com/scores/chicago-white-sox/2022-05-06 We have some potentially ugly weather in the North Carolina region, so some of these games could be questionable. Davis Martin making his first Knights start after having a very solid start to the season in Birmingham. Let's hope he can keep it up and be a possible Keuchel alternative.
  8. Sosa walking more, striking out less, and hitting for more power is an interesting development.
  9. Ramos works a walk. Sure seems like they aren't giving him much to hit lately. Plenty of breaking junk out of the zone and away.
  10. Wilber Sanchez inside the park HR. That's fun.
  11. I think it's really encouraging how comfortable he seems to be throwing the breaking stuff. And he throws strikes. The fastball sits around 92 MPH per the broadcast, but it sure seems like he has the frame to add size and some velocity. Baseball America's scouting report notes as much.
  12. Mena done. 4.2 IP 5 H 2 ER 3 BB 9 SO
  13. Mena strikes out the side. 8 strikeouts through 4.
  14. Groundout, double, walk, and two strikeouts in the 3rd for Mena.
  15. If I had to describe Andrew Dalquist starts in one word, it would be "laborious."
  16. Alsander Womack is a uniquely shaped second baseman.
  17. Second inning for Mena includes a wall scraper HR, a walk, a groundout, a single, and 2 fly outs.
  18. Mena gives up a single, walks one, but also strikes out three in the first.
  19. No Moncada tonight.
