  1. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jun 9, 2017 -> 10:11 AM) For those who follow college ball more than I, does anyone keep a somewhat up to date mock of the 2018 draft? Curious to see where Beer is slotted these days. Thanks. You won't be seeing any legitimate mocks for 2018 until late spring of next year. You might get some preliminary draft rankings in Februaryish though.
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 9, 2017 -> 10:23 AM) Gonna be interesting to see some of the reactions on this board if the sox pass on Bukauskas for Kendall. Seems his regionals implosion scared some teams off.
  3. Piliere has a mock up. Premium only though. https://d1baseball.com/premium/2017-mlb-dra...mock-draft-2-0/
  4. New Callis mock. Kendall again. So much consensus. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/235304580/ro...picid=151437456
  5. I just realized I'm going to be on a flight for most of draft day this year. I'm going to rage if it has spotty WiFi.
  6. New BA Mock. Kendall again. Big drop is Pavin Smith falling to 19. My guy White goes ahead of him. http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/2017-...9kUVeiEoSzSo.97 Also notes the Sox would consider Faedo, Bukauskus, Adell if available.
  7. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 6, 2017 -> 11:02 AM) I mean overall in terms of ceiling and floor. No doubt Kendall has more ability than guys like Burger & White, but I think they both have much better chances of becoming solid major leaguers (and normally I prefer going for upside in the 1st, but in a weak draft, floor might be the way to go). To me, they're all roughly the same caliber of prospect, but I'm also someone who has serious concerns over college bats with swing & miss issues. And right or wrong, the fact that our organization still hasn't show it can develop these type of players makes me even more concerned with someone like Kendall. Honestly, I think this may be the perfect draft to target a Burger or White type guy for an underslot deal and then gamble on some high upside high schoolers later in the draft. For whatever reason, White is super intriguing to me, especially if you believe he can be an above-average OF defensively. I'd much rather gamble on his power concerns than Kendall's swing and miss issues. We are on the same page concerning White. Great athlete with some thought that he could maybe even handle CF. I'm a big fan. Doesn't sound like there's much connecting him to the Sox unfortunately.
  8. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 11:51 AM) Great stuff Rabbit. Why would the Sox target Henzman a reliever in the first 3 rounds? Is he as dominant as Burdi was? Just trying to build an elite bullpen? I wasn't sure if the Henzman and relief comments were supposed to be taken together. It certainly sounds feasible he could be a starter. Maybe Rabbit could clarify.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 10:49 AM) What's the deal with Luis Mieses? That's the 400K signee from the Dominican Republic.
  10. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 4, 2017 -> 10:54 AM) Also Sox have had a former Phillies National Crosschecker join the scouting team solely as the national crosschecker for relief arms. Sox speculstely looking to grab Lincoln Henzman in the 3rd. Henzman's people think he's more of a 2nd rounder though. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/210960834/v14...college-pitcher
  11. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Jun 3, 2017 -> 09:48 PM) Can someone tell me what the issue with Burger is? Is that he goes to a small school? He shows + power, is walking more than K'ing, and and has good contact skills. So is it level of competition? Or that he's not a great athlete? To me he seems like a low floor, but still high ceiling prospect that should be in high consideration for pick #11. Concerns about the hit tool (swing), level of competition, and physique is what I've read thus far.
  12. John Manuel‏Verified account @johnmanuelba 22s22 seconds ago John Manuel Retweeted Jane Lee Mock coming Tuesday will feature Beck high. A's have been deep in NC all year on Gore, Bukauskas & Beck Jane LeeVerified account @JaneMLB A's are working out North Carolina prep OF Austin Beck at Coliseum right now. Beane, Forst, large crew from scouting department on hand.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2017 -> 06:44 PM) Wonder if Bukauskas slips Big fan. Would love him if he fell.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2017 -> 11:56 AM) Not impressed with Kendall. Swing looks mechanical and he made a lousy throw from RF Is this the first time you've seen him?
  15. While Kendall scares the s*** out of me because of the contact issues, I'm sure I could talk myself into the pick because of the upside. The White Sox having some sort of track record of fixing hitters would certainly make it easier though.
  16. Don't know if this was posted, but yesterday Mayo posted another mock. Kendall once again. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/233694538/ml...eene-remain-12/
  17. Hehe. I remember at the time and shortly after how 2008 was touted as one of the most stacked classes in years. Didn't end up that way in the end.
  18. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 31, 2017 -> 12:15 PM) Kendall and Adell are 1A & 1B for me. If somehow J.B Bukauskas slips to 11, I'd run to the podium and make him my selection. Same. JB is my pitcher of choice if available. Aside from Gore.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 30, 2017 -> 09:13 PM) When's the last time a "true" or least projected 2B (like Hiura) went in the Top 10-12 picks in the first round? Who the hell is Warmoth? Is Law just trying to be a contrarian with all of his notes about the White Sox? Sign him for peanuts and then allocate the rest of the money to guys at #2/3/4/5??? Logan Warmoth is North Carolina's SS. Solid average tools across the board with a chance to stay at SS. Played himself into the first round this year. I'm a fan.
  20. Hmm. I think I'd prefer Bukauskas if he's still on the board at that point.
  21. Heckuva fall for Austin Beck.
  22. New BA mock. Also has Sox taking Kendall. http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/2017-...-3-5/?amphtml=1
  23. QUOTE (DirtySox @ May 26, 2017 -> 10:45 AM) Callis mock. Kendall at 11. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/232496282/ji...picid=151437456 Also notes Beck and Evan White. I hadn't seen the sentiment about moving White to CF. I think I would be super on board with that if they think he can stick.
  24. Callis mock. Kendall at 11. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/232496282/ji...picid=151437456
