  1. But also, we have a COVID thread. Take it there. We don't need COVID dedicated offshoots.
  2. Nick Cordero was a Broadway star in great health. His lungs were on par with those of professional athletes. He was on a ventilator, his leg was amputated, and he was in a coma. Then he died. https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/obituaries/nick-cordero-tony-nominated-broadway-star-dies-at-41-of-coronavirus/2020/07/05/3d194b62-a42f-11ea-bb20-ebf0921f3bbd_story.html
  3. Anderson has never gotten Robert or Madrigal out in his career, so ?‍♂️
  4. We may return to our regularly scheduled conversation about baseball.
  5. Big League Chew putting @Jack Parkman at ease after his initial bust outlook after those first two games.
  6. That's 22 games in real season time. The players therefore have had 22 games to get in a rhythm.
  7. This is more of a thought exercise because while Jirschele is clearly being groomed to be manager of the future, I doubt they would ever put a rookie manager in who hasn't coached above A-ball in during a playoff hopeful season. That being said, we all agree Ricky's lineups have been Ozzie's Sunday lineups Part Deux. How would Jirschele do?
  8. Anyway, Madrigal needs chewing tobacco to evolve to his final form. Or at least Big League Chew, which would be smarter. And Ron wouldn't b****. Also, we have Big League Chew because of Nellie: https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/ct-spt-big-league-chew-inventor-haugh-20180524-story.html
  9. It's a sprint, not a marathon. We need to keep Leury fresh.
  10. Four Cubans leading off again. Nicky in right, for some reason.
  11. R/baseball is in awe of Luis this game. Or in fear if they're the AL Central. Also, some comments about the Sox booth being underrated.
  12. This is a 10/10 Caulfield post.
  13. Mercedes is now the starting SS.
  14. By DHing Engel, you spread his defensive attribute evenly to the other 9 players.
  15. Try to get to at least .500 before the season ends.
  16. Moving on from Tim Anderson becoming the next Jorge Posada, why is he being compared to Jason Heyward here? They have no similarities as batters or in their backgrounds as baseball players. Wouldn't Alex Gordon be a better comparison if one we're trying to be made - while he still has several differences, he at least made the key switch we're discussing here.
  17. Adam Engel powering the offense, as we all predicted.
