  1. Rob Manfred has to lead, he doesn't know how to do that.
  2. https://mlb.nbcsports.com/2019/01/07/a-warning-about-major-league-baseballs-record-revenues/ This article reminded me that if baseball had just taken the players offer of 114 games at the onset, they'd probably have made enough money to not operate at a loss this season and build goodwill towards the future. But instead of not only can the owners not see the forest through the trees, they're just deciding to burn the forest to the ground.
  3. Players also making it clear that they're done negotiating in public.
  4. I forgot Kumar Rocker didn't go in 2018. Good gamble by him.
  5. - Owners don't have to pay minor leaguers, which they long acted is a major expense. Hell, they've cut entire teams. - Owners don't need to do stadium operation costs. - Owners won't open the books - Owners keep proposing the same offer time and time again. They're bad faith negotiators who previously agreed to a deal. They could have possibly made profit if they started sooner, they didn't. This all lies at the feet at the owners.
  6. I know it's just a typo, but now I'm imagining "James Fox won't waive no trade clause for White Sox trade."
  7. Maybe if owners hadn't insisted on paying minor leaguers poverty wages all these years, it'd be easier to listen them to cry poor.
  8. Question: Would any non-Vera or Cespedes J2 prospects enter the Top 30. I'm assuming no, especially with no season, but curious as to your thoughts.
  9. My thought process for Crochet is that hard throwing lefty with a wipeout slider has a decent floor (bullpen) with the Sox, whereas while I'm high on Madrigal, it's a profile so unique that I just need to see against MLB pitching. Crochet will be below Madrigal on the Top 100, but I just feel like the Sox are the perfect home for him.
  10. 1. Robert 2. Vaughn 3. Kopech 4. Crochet 5. Madrigal ? Cespedes 6. Kelley ? Colas 7. Dunning 8. Stiever 9. Collins 10. Thompson Adding some "if all goes right" names
  11. The swear filter is weird since we changed the site's interface. I tried to change Fernando Tatis Jr. to Voldemort last year to no avail. It was setup and everything, but did not work.
  12. Alec Hansen is who we thought he was, unfortunately he briefly flirted with his ceiling before plummeting to his floor.
  13. If there were a full season, both of these guys could have theoretically been gone by #11, so I see this as a major win. There's big risk involved, but there's huge upside. Let's just list these names out: Giolito, Kopech, Cease, Lopez, Rodon, Crochet, Kelley, Stiever, Dunning, Dalquist, Thompson, Vera It also makes me glad we took Crochet once Detmers came off the board. I know you don't draft for fit, but he's the only significant lefty under 30 we've got other than Rodon.
  14. Called it on Coffey ?. From The Athletic.
  15. They wouldn't have taken him, and he wouldn't have fallen, if this wasn't basically a done deal.
  16. Fathom is more optimistic than some people.
  17. The Anti-Bulls, if you will.
  18. Hey, two-way player!
  19. I really hope Cole Wilcox screws over the Padres.
  20. Fucking 100 grade name right there. I was so sad he sucked.
  21. @Y2Jimmy0 tell me how you feel
  22. I love this draft
