4/4 Games (Opening Day for Minors)

Zack Collins must have read SoxTalk and is determined to prove us all wrong. This is my theory and I'm sticking to it. -

Machado part aside, this actually made me feel optimistic. -
You leave Jose "Old Man Eloquent" Abreu out of this!

Yoan "The Dude President" Moncada

You're an excitable poster. I dig it.

@NorthSideSox72 has written about this at length. It's a joke that they don't pay them minimum wage at worst. If they provided optional housing, meal plans, and equipment - I'd be ok with lower pay. Not only would it actually justify a lower pay, but it'd benefit the health of the players and possibly create a better product. But then they get Congress to pass the embarrassingly named "Save America's Pastime Act" to avoid paying minimum wage.

Are Victor Diaz and Andre Davis even alive at this point?

I have a friend who is a Cubs fan that has been trying to get a rise out of me all offseason. If this keeps up, this is gonna be fun.

While hysterical, the Astros would probably file a grievance immediately. I think what needs to be done is remove the stupid competitive balance picks and just simply sandwich in compensation picks there.

Man, the draft picks are killing Kimbrel and Keuchel. This is definitely getting addressed in the next CBA - right?

Next CBA is gonna be wild.

GameThread: White Sox (Nova) @ Indians (Clevinger)

Look man, I don't know if you're legitimately stuck in the 70s or just on a quest to become the single most roasted poster on this board. Remember when throwing 100 mph was a rare, holy shit feat? Now the Sox alone have the following guys that can do that. Reynaldo Lopez, Michael Kopech, Dylan Cease, Ian Hamilton, Zack Burdi, Tyler Johnson, Thyago Vieira If Burdi and Kopech regain full strength, that's three guys in there (with Vieria) who can regularly reach that. Hitters have gotten more tools at their disposal to become better hitters. To compensate, pitchers have had to ramp up the pitching strain on their arm. Scouting reports are deeper now. Workhorses like Justin Verlander are rare nowadays. Chris Sale is gonna be a slam dunk Hall of Famer and routinely wilts late in the summer. If a starter gives you a stellar seven innings, a bullpen should be able to bring it home. -

Today I learned that I should expect the same from Ivan Nova as I would a first ballot Hall of Famer. -

I think right now my biggest concern is that Leonys Martin has Laffy Taffy as his walk up music. -

Well, it's certainly an explanation.
