QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 28, 2016 -> 02:08 PM) But didn't his platform of pointing out injustice in this country serve as a slap in the face to our military and those who do GOOD in this country? It's not like he went to a military event and told people to go f*** themselves. His employer provides him with the right to not stand during the anthem. It's his American right. It'd be more a slap in the face to American liberties to tell him to stand up for something he doesn't personally believe in.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 28, 2016 -> 02:04 PM) Two responses: 1. Do a google on him. Crickets. Silence. Nothing much criticizing him. 2. Why does he have a right to do what he believes? This is a team sport isn't it? I seem to remember Sox fans throwing a hissy fit anytime Ozzie did something about Ozzie. The second Colin K sat down the whole game was about him. It'll be about him all week. Are team sports fans in favor of stuff like this happening? 1. Go on Twitter. Plenty criticizing him. 2. Ozzie's oftentimes selfish actions are not in the same stratosphere as Kapernick using his platform to point out injustice in this country.

If you think Kapernick is avoiding criticism for this, then you're incredibly tone deaf. It's his right to do what he believes. Let's not pretend that our country has treated people of color well throughout history.
  4. Man, I really would trade Sale before Q.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 27, 2016 -> 02:47 PM) Don't forget DJ LeMahieu as well...with Bryant, Rizzo and Russell, that's four Top 40 guys in terms of WAR. They traded him...why are we bringing this up? Because he's only similar to Bryant in that the Cubs drafted him.
  6. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Aug 26, 2016 -> 10:05 PM) I wanted nothing. Where did I say I expected anything? I didn't. Honestly.... Very happy getting him off the 25. At the risk of more wrath from the hahn fan-boys, if he does want to trade more players, may I suggest that he get on with it? As each day passes, value falls (for those that have any value). Then what does "whiffed again" mean?
  7. GreenSox, please tell me what you wanted for Dioner Navarro via trade.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 25, 2016 -> 06:55 PM) Is this the same ranking system I found here from last year, where Fulmer was listed 9th? That's ninth amongst RHP prospects.
  9. Christ, let's just call it Sears Tower.
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 25, 2016 -> 08:37 AM) Brett Myers, Wil Cordero and Ryan Lochte Field. No publicity is bad, right? Might as well name it Trump Field...then he could sue and they would be in the news for months and months. Pure brilliance. I don't even know what your point is anymore.
  11. As bad as this name is, and it is terrible, way too many people here are over reacting. It won't change what happens on the field. Just like if the new name was "Playboy Coliseum", it wouldn't change a thing. I still call it Comiskey and if not that, the Cell. Both of those nicknames can remain. Sears Tower ring a bell?

QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Aug 24, 2016 -> 01:15 PM) Who knows? He's maybe having his best month ever....right now. But to your point....what's exactly the line of thinking, here? That we built this entire team around the expectation that Jose Abreu would be able to automatically duplicate one rookie season's worth of elite numbers? That Jose Abreu would absolutely clobber everything at that same .317/40 homer clip, and that he's somehow a "disappointment" for not doing so? That he f***ed the Sox because the front office built the whole team around that ridiculous expectation? Did this fanbase and front office learn absolutely nothing from Gordon Beckham and his rookie year/subsequent years? Or any other player with standard dropoff type things? I mean...does this front office know anything about the game of baseball, in general? A season of elite numbers and a season of extremely good numbers. Let's not act like he sucked during his sophomore campaign.
  13. Only 8.5 games out boys!
  14. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 23, 2016 -> 09:32 PM) I enjoyed part of my time with No Man's Sky, finding new worlds, naming s*** and ..... Well, that's about it, in the first 6 systems I ventured into, 4 had already been discovered by ONE f***ing player -- Wizardnebula69 -- how is that even possible? A game where the developers believed it would take so long for players to find each other that they didn't even bother to include player to player interaction in the game's initial release, I came across another asshole in my second system. I grinded from plant to plant like a dope, spending ridiculous amounts of time firing upon rocks to collect ultimately meaningless resources because I'm a sucker for hoarding-centric gameplay (thank Fallout for this character flaw), there was no real point to any of this, no truly fantasticle monsters to discover or epic space dogfights, just slight variations upon the same pig-demon I met on the last previously discovered planet I visited and clumsy, broken hold-x-at-this-reticule and slowly pivot space battles. The UI is bad, the trading is bad, the ground combat is bad, the leveling system is bad, the story is bad, the inventory system is horrific and the payoff is non-existent. I've foolishly played more hours than I care to admit and I've yet to see an ROI, just more mindless grinding and the same f***ing animations over and over again. I'm bored and in reality I've been bored since the very beginning, hopelessly waiting for a payoff that does not exist. This game may be playable in the future, once the developers get their s*** together via DLC but it's sadly broken and vapid right now and I can't help but feel like I was sold a bill of goods by a small studio who didn't know how to handle their insane hype so they just rode the wave, telling fib after fib because they didn't know better. And what we're left with is basically a procedurally generated Rebel Galaxy ($20 title), sans the solid space combat and Firefly inspired asthetic, oh and 100000x more grinding, so much grinding. tl;dr: f***, I believed the hype and unfortunately so did the developer, knowing all along that they couldn't back it up. Well this about did it in for me / I'm now intrigued because Rebel Galaxy is free on PSN this month.
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 23, 2016 -> 01:37 PM) He's trying to claim hypocrisy because we weren't impressed that tv personality dr. drew claims clinton is unfit for presidency due to health even though the letter we have from her actual physician (http://www.cbsnews.com/news/doctors-note-hillary-clinton-is-in-excellent-physical-condition/) says she is fine, fake documents that said she was sick were fake and stupid, and donald trump and alt-right trolls are apparently doctors and able to tell from cut up videos that she has dementia -> ergo we are hypocrites for downplaying clinton's health concerns therefore health doesn't matter therefore it's fine for wikileaks to continue to dump citizens private data But the good news is that there are also reports that the fake physician that fake leaked the fake reports is now fake dead, and it was probably what jade helm was for. Oh, yeah, medical records getting leaked isn't ever OK.
  16. Homosexuality is punishable by death in Saudi Arabia. This leak outed people. Not really sure how this is a government conspiracy.
  17. I'm not sure which leak this specific comment references, but innocent people probably get murdered over this leak.
  18. http://bigstory.ap.org/article/b70da83fd11...lls-its-secrets Oh look, WikiLeaks, being reckless.
  19. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 23, 2016 -> 08:40 AM) Yup. 14 games UNDER .500, but a half game into first in their division. Good times. Great Falls is also in 1st place, 2nd half in the PIO North. 1 game lead. Kanny is sort of in their race too, at 30-27 in the 2nd half and currently 4 games back in their division. So there are three affiliates nominally in the chase for a playoff spot. Oh, minor leagues.
  20. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Aug 22, 2016 -> 09:51 PM) You're right. They grow on trees. Where is ours? Oh yeah, that's right. We don't have one. Who cares about the Sox having one? Russell on the Cubs or other under-22 players don't affect them in anyway whatsoever.

  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 17, 2016 -> 03:37 PM) #10 Wasn't this heralded as a good pick because it was paired with Strasburg? Burdi isn't a vacuum, he's sandwiched between Collins and Hansen.
  23. Where was Drew Storen taken?
