  1. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 02:18 PM) Wizards are prepared to give Noah a max deal of 4 years/120 million. Wow, that is gross. Makes the Robin Lopez deal look like a complete steal if Noah gets this. wat
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 02:05 PM) Wasn't that the year they never really clicked because it was lockout shortened and then Rose missed like 1/3 of the games with various injuries? I don't think clicking is how I'd have described it, it seemed more like waiting around for them to have a chance to play together. Yup that year. Rip missed time. But at the very end of the season I remember everyone started gelling. Rose could still take over, but didn't need to like the year prior. Defense was still stellar. Then ACL and heartbreak.

I also find it funny that the only people without a congressional voice are from highly populated areas, DC and Puerto Rico.
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 01:28 PM) Look...I'm sorry if people weren't okay with getting Boozer and being that close to a trip to the NBA finals (losing to the Heat in the conference finals while Rose had a bum ankle) and than of course missing out the following year when Rose tore his ACL in the playoffs, but you know what, I was okay with it. f***...some of you all want to be miserable forever and just watch lots of losing basketball. Sure, they could have landed better guys or Rose couldn't have gotten hurt, but the reality is that impacts things. This team had quite a few chances. Just a year ago, we were the right call from probably beating Cleveland and presumably going to the finals (to get crushed by Golden State). I.e., Blatt getting T'd up. Now what happened since than was awful, i.e., dumping Thibs was a disaster move, but lets not act like the Bulls were some horrific franchise who had no shot. Than again, I'm sure a lot of people here would have traded Klay for Love and well, Golden State would never have won 1 title and they certainly wouldn't have the best regular season record in NBA history. And remember, Asik went down in the ECF. I still believe if Rose hadn't torn his ACL, they win in 2012. They were clicking at the end of the season so well.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 12:32 PM) This goes to the point of the representation. It's not that IL votes that way it's the city of Chicago and the surrounding area. If you look at the state as a whole the larger geographic area doesn't vote that way. But then if you look at how many people vote that way in the state, more people vote democrat.
  6. QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 11:10 AM) Very encouraging from Curbelo. It's not every day that an 18 year-old SS homers in his 2nd professional game. If Curbelo sticks at SS, he'll be a huge get in the 6th round.
  7. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 12:27 PM) It's not really a full rebuild but they are still going to be pretty bad. I'd rather be really bad than pick 13th next year though. I know it's not. It needs to be though.
  8. For a full rebuild, needed to ship Jimmy and Taj. I don't blame them for not shipping Jimmy as the deals for him weren't up to snuff.

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 11:23 AM) Yeah, and again, if this is such a destabilizing move, why couldn't we assume that the UK will remain the financial sector and european trade powerhouse via a new system? Why is it a forgone conclusion that new trade agreements and foreign worker/visitor agreements will be significantly altered? If it's going to severely hurt the UK, the UK isn't going to do it. But they just did

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 09:42 AM) Did people think, "Pfffftttt, this couldn't possibly happen!", the same way people think Trump has no chance as the presidency? Yup.
  11. QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 09:32 AM) Look - this was the quote I responded to: He predicted A STAT LINE OF 7 IP. When I said I'd eat my hat if he goes "more than 5", I'm referring to the above STAT LINE. Check the tape - I even quoted it in my post HERE. You guys want to move the goal posts and argue that walking 2 batters in the 6th and getting pulled constitutes some measure of more than 5 IP, that's YOUR misinterpretation of my response. Unless you can show me something that shows more than 5 IP, arguing otherwise is DEAD WRONG. He's not being confrontational in every single thread he's been in, Andrew.
  12. 5+ IP is 5 getting to the sixth, no outs. Otherwise it would be 5.1 IP or 5.2 IP
  13. Still so weird finally seeing DSL players stateside.

Business Insider already projecting the US stock market to get hit hard.
  15. I have no idea if Jimmy is suddenly all powerful or extremely vulnerable.
  16. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 06:21 PM) If Butler was traded, would you prefer Dunn/Wiggins or Russell/Ingram as two possible trade packages? Dunn/Wiggins
  17. Took 3/4 and Shields pitched well. I can deal with it.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 05:43 PM) In summary, the only way I'm moving Butler are in deals where he is in the centerpiece and we are getting back the following (not saying these other teams would do it, but what it would take for me to do it...and to get the below, I am on board with giving up other guys / picks as sweetners). My elow list is in order of preference with the Wolves / Lakers ranking above the Celtics. Twolves: Wiggins & #5 pick Lakers: Russell & #2 pick Celtics: #3 pick + next year's pick (just for Butler...no sweetners here, such as giving up our pick or something) I'd need an active player from the Celtics as well.
  19. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 05:09 PM) I don't see Russell and Ingram happening, but it's hard to predict stupid. I would have said Clarkson and 2, but I've read that they LOVE Clarkson. I could deal with tanking if they can get Ingram. I'm not confident that Ingram will be a star, but I would be surprised if he's not a very good starter. f***, I'd take Clarkson and Ingram.
  20. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 04:42 PM) what's your deal? He inserted Chris Beck into a high leverage situation. he does this repeatedly. It's playing with fire. It's also very unbecoming for a mod to troll like this imo. Eminor's not a mod, so...
  21. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 04:24 PM) Poor Red Sox, they did try to sign him! I imagine his numbers would be better if he played for Boston, not just because they'd have no runners on base, but because Abreu seems to hit well at Fenway like you said Oxymoron
