Cardinals fans are beyond pompous. But somehow less so than Cubs fans.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 08:51 AM) So Lackey going to his mouth is why the Cuns scored 0 runs. God I hope they get swept. It will be bad enough hearing how the 2016 WS trophy is already sitting in Theo's office, but there seems to be excuses every time they lose, how something was unfair. Yet Cubs fans won't acknowledge Arrieta's massive zone or Kang's injury.

Sox got back almost nothing from break up of 2012 squad

I like that this thread is bascially complaining the Sox were holding onto productive players. -

Yancy Almonte isn't trash. -
QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Oct 8, 2015 -> 02:00 PM) Ever since the current CBA came into effect, the Sox are a fairly good drafting team, at least when it comes to first round picks. I would like to see them become a little more creative when it comes to spreading out the bons pool. This past year was a step in the right direction.

White Sox peripherally make news for Cub Hating
Quin replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
lol. Cubs fans are now saying they all cheered for the Sox in '05. f*** off. We all know that's fake. -
They've released three more teasers now. Each one getting better. Also Agents of Shield has started this season with a bang again.
-
Everyone calm down with the insults. The Cubs aren't worth it.
-
QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Oct 7, 2015 -> 08:17 PM) Sorry, I just hate having to constantly defend myself from people who feel it's not okay to admire the Cubs if you're a White Sox fan. Nah man, that's ok. But it's also ok to hate them.
-
QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Oct 7, 2015 -> 08:14 PM) I don't like the Patriots but I admire Tom Brady? I'm a lifelong Bears fan. You need to readjust your definition of fandom. I'm defending you here. You clearly admire and respect the Cubs as an organization. I'm not saying you're a fan of them.
-
Guys, there's no questioning AustinIllini is a Sox fan. He just holds extreme admiraton for the Cubs.
-
QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Oct 7, 2015 -> 08:05 PM) It has NOTHING to do with you. Seriously, what is your problem? He can dislike the team and the bandwagon. He has to experience it around him. Therefore it does have something to do with him.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 7, 2015 -> 07:53 AM) Supposedly, Buehrle had 4 cortisone shots into his shoulder this season. Chances are, he's hanging them up. Goddamn
-
QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Oct 6, 2015 -> 10:35 PM) Nah, they need more than that, even assuming 20+ for Trayce (which I'm not). Who is a LF you're anticipating will provide 30+ HR?
-
QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Oct 6, 2015 -> 09:15 PM) I don't like the idea of Eaton in left. This team is power-starved enough as it is. They really need a slugger in LF. Trayce has 20+ HR power and Eaton hit 14 this year. They'd be fine.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 6, 2015 -> 07:02 PM) This is why people hate Cub fans. The Cubs can't just win and be happy. For some stupid reason the entire world has to be happy for them. I wasn't happy when the Twins won. I wasn't happy when the Tigers made the World Series, why on God's green earth would I be happy that the Cubs won? Seriously, f*** the Cubs and their fans. +1 QUOTE (ron883 @ Oct 6, 2015 -> 07:53 PM) If I didn't just move to wrigleyville, I would be more against them winning. I'm indifferent now, if not slightly rooting for them. I want to be in the heart of the party if they win. It will be absolutely wild. I'm assuming I'll be able to find some overjoyed cubs broad to bang. I'm predicting the panties will be awfully wet in wrigleyville the night they win it, if they do. Well then.

Kershaw is the only once in a lifetime pitcher at the moment. That's ok.
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Oct 6, 2015 -> 04:31 PM) Heyward literally helps this team in the categories that the Sox are weak on as you mentioned above. He makes the most sense this offseason, it's just a matter if JR is willing to open the checkbook a little more and get Heyward signed, along with eating LaRoche's last year or moving him to the "veteran bench role" type of player. Jerry pretty much has to be in "absolute win now mode" for him to greenlight those moves.
-
Reasons Heyward makes sense: Buying his prime years. Elite defensively. Gets on base. Highly marketable. Left handed bat. Could be a 20-20 guy. The problem: You're going to have to cut your losses on LaRoche and move Melky to DH. So Heyward will be SUPER expensive. But damnit, the OF D is fun to picture.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 11:47 PM) This is a no brainer. Sign Mark Buehrle. One year and an option at 5.5 mill a year. What the f***???
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 10:13 PM) This proves that Jamie Moyer was the last of the guys able to pitch forever, as well as LaTroy Hawkins. I mean Mark has never been on DL, has that smooth motion and is done at 36? Poor pitchers. Their arms just can't take the stress. 36 is not old compared to some of the dudes of the past. Yeah, it's a shame he couldn't pitch as long as someone like Ted Lyons. But who cares about the past? Anyway, Mark is the active leader for IP at 3283.1 IP, 95th all time. Still really damn good. And Hawkins is a reliever.

Give me a trained sportscaster, not another former player who can't call games worth a damn.

White Sox lowest rated TV Regional viewership in MLB.. 2015
Quin replied to captain54's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (reiks12 @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 09:48 PM) How many years before they relocate? "Speaking of room to grow, the White Sox were the lowest-rated team in baseball with a 0.82 average TV rating. Their 29 percent decrease from last season was the fifth-worst in baseball. The Sox (76-86) fired their bench coach Mark Parent before the final series of the season in an attempt to shake things up." I doubt it happens. You don't just up and move an original American League team that has over 115 years of history in city. -
Well, it's that time of year again....2015 edition

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 10:31 AM) I wish people would get Heyward out of their minds now, instead of building it up as a real possibility. Right, though it is fun to think about a defensive OF of Eaton-Thompson-Heyward. Death to fly balls.
