  1. Well the clutch factor is kinda returning...
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 27, 2015 -> 09:56 AM) If Sale has control issues? What? Chris Sale has NEVER had control issues. This is essentially saying "If Kershaw, Felix, Scherzer, etc. start sucking, they are hard to replace."
  3. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Jan 26, 2015 -> 10:09 PM) I think Kottaras backs up Flowers. Soto and Brantley at Charlotte with Smith and Nieto at Birmingham. +1 Kottaras gets a huge boost due to being a lefty.
  4. Teams are no longer allowed to make double plays or triple plays either.
  5. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 25, 2015 -> 12:12 PM) You mean Snell? Whoops
  6. Snell just went coast-to-coast through traffic. I don't understand. And Derrick had a Derrick style layup. So sweet.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 24, 2015 -> 06:44 PM) And Iguchi and Rowand cried when the Sox traded them away. I remember reading that Iguchi was heartbroken at the time of the trade. Man he was exciting to watch for a few years back then.
  8. Apparently in the team meeting everyone from Rose to Snell spoke. Whatever they talked about seems like it might've worked.
  9. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 23, 2015 -> 07:19 AM) The Peavy deal could wind up being highway robbery I think he meant that it's bad luck in that some key pieces Hahn looks to deal end up being hurt or in a slump at the deadline. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 23, 2015 -> 08:15 AM) Daniel Webb? He might be on the outside looking in and will have to fight for a spot. Crazy considering what we thought of him a year ago.
  10. I LOVE this deal. Great guy and if he is even half as good as pre-injury it'll shore up the pen even more.

    Would you...

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 22, 2015 -> 12:50 AM) Why can I hear Will Ferrell saying those lines...? Not sure, I was going for Hermes from Futurama.

    Would you...

Sweet molasses of Parnassus I would do those two moves together in a heart beat.
  13. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 07:31 AM) $$$$ fine for Ol' Billy B $$$$ fine for Kraft Take 1st & 2nd round picks from them for next three years. Might seem harsh, but at this point they're repeat offenders and its institutional. They're not showing respect for "the Shield." Poor guy whose job it is to take the air out of the balls is probably getting his a$$ chewed for missing one. 11 of 12 is unacceptable. I'd either take 1sts and 2nds for the next three years or if they REALLY wanted to drop the hammer: No picks this year. None. It should have an effect like the Joe Smith - Timberwolves penalty.
  14. QUOTE (Armchair Hahn @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 08:37 AM) not sure on the politics of the Sox/Nats relationship...but Fister is the guy i feel would be appropriate for the Sox. We don't need another #2, #3 guy such as Zimmermann for the price that he will command in terms of trades. Fister should be relatively less costly and will fill our need of a backend #4 or 5 guy without breaking the bank. I would perhaps trade a Matt Davidson or other one of our prospects in the 6-10 range. The Nats don't have many needs at the MLB level The Nats would laugh at Matt Davidson being a center piece.
  15. I have a feeling this draft year will not be fun for the Pats.
  16. Crunched the numbers for work and in the last year of Scherzer's deal he'll be paid 1.5 times higher than league average. The equivalent for last season would be 5,804,763. Great structuring by Nats.
  17. This team has such little fire. Also, f*** Mozgov.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 19, 2015 -> 12:50 PM) And the Nationals would say no. But what if we offer C. Rondon Then Hahn just smiles at Rizzo the rest of his career.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 19, 2015 -> 12:46 PM) If you could guarantee me a ring I'd trade Rodon for one. But you can't do that. Adding Stras to this rotation makes them the clear favorites for the AL Central, but even then there's still 3 series to win and the best team often does not win a given series. The greatest rotation in the world doesn't guarantee you move forward. The Giants moved forward last year with Hudson and Peavy as 2 of their top starters. Clearly Quintana and Sale/Stras would be a lot better than them, but that's no guarantee that you're going to win those 2 games. Ding ding ding. We've got no guarantee that adding Stras would win us a WS. But I'd trade everything outside of Rodon.
