  1. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 8, 2015 -> 09:27 AM) He has a 2.83 ERA this year while k'ing guys at a near elite level through 6 starts this year. He's been flat put dominant over his last 6 months of pitching. He doesn't go long in games still, but we'd kill to have him at the back of our rotation, let's be honest. His whip and fip are higher than normal, but they have been over the course of his career; they're broken when it comes to him. To say he sucks is simply not true. He doesn't suck but if Hector Santiago is elite then hot damn, let's trade Chris Sale for him. I mean, he has a better ERA than him and we all know that will last the entire season. Sale - Shark - Q = fair for Santiago. A true #1 talent.
  2. He was the mastermind behind two of the biggest ESPN innovations in the past few years with Grantland and 30 for 30. Dumb move by ESPN.
  3. I approve of this thread's existence.
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 7, 2015 -> 03:01 PM) I always remember Noah struggling with his offense when he didn't get to have a normal off-season. I think it was the year he had really bad plantar fascias or something else where he imploded offensively as well (never was able to find his rhythm). I think he is a major confidence player and not having the opportunity to build up his confidence and have full off-seasons impacts him more than most players. I really hope he's able to unwind after winning a title this off-season and comes back as a force. He is way too likable and way too good when he's at his best. He had knee surgery this summer.
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 7, 2015 -> 02:51 PM) I wanted to see some more of Snell and Niko yesterday. I will say, Niko did not play well against the Bucks, but I wondered how much of that was due to his injury and of course that could also be why we aren't seeing him now. It is one thing if we are cleaning up the glass that we don't want Niko in (cause Cleveland has some very good O-Rebounders) but it is another when we are getting whipped on the boards anyway. I've long said I want to see more Taj and I think Taj / Pau and Noah / Miro would be a nice pairing on both sides of things but with all of the Bulls injuries, we never were really able to do a whole lot with rotations. I do hope Noah can get a full off-season and get healthier. I also think a lot of it right now is mental struggles too...he needs to feel confident and he doesn't currently and it is very obvious. I've never seen him so inaccurate and unwilling with his offensive game. Mainly, I've never seen him miss so many of his running hooks / layups, which when he is going well, he does quite a bit and it adds pressure to the defense..but right now defense is sitting back and he isn't doing anything to force them on him and thus it puts more pressure on every other player on the court. Noah's regression has been borderline insane. Here's a guy that could occasionally explode for 20 pts/10 reb/10 ast and no one would blink an eye. Now if he scores 5 points it's a shock.
  6. Also for tomorrows game: Noah needs to absolutely have a shorter hook to get Niko's mismatch abilities in there. He can drag TT out to the 3 point line and abuse Perkins/Miller/Jones when they're at the 4. Snell needs some burn if Brooks isn't on fire from the start. Snell can at least defend Smith, which we'll need.
  7. Blatt says Shumpert may miss Game 3. Honestly, trading Shump for Smith could help the Bulls a lot. Shump plays good D and for some reason has become Steph Curry this series. At least with Smith, you lose the defense and gain boneheaded plays.

QUOTE (raBBit @ May 7, 2015 -> 11:57 AM) Engel has homered, walked, been HBP and stolen two bags. He's doing it all regularly. There's our Trout level athlete.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 7, 2015 -> 11:23 AM) Link File this under "awful ideas that literally everyone should have objected to."
  10. QUOTE (South Sider @ May 7, 2015 -> 10:11 AM) 83 uniforms 'til a loss. And if we go on the road, road 83's too. Might as well just bring that uniform back. It was so 80s, but a few decades later I really like the look. I support the team being as superstitious as us fans.
  11. I hope Guerra slides through the waiver. Always felt like he could be a good last guy in the pen.

  13. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 6, 2015 -> 08:11 AM) The latest 3-minute episode of FutureSox TV (starring Quinarvy) looks at some hitters in AAA who are doing well and could be in Chicago in the not-too-distant future. Background photos are Daniel's own photog work, the videos are from my recent visit to Charlotte. And this episode has a little easter egg. Here it is, enjoy! QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 6, 2015 -> 08:12 AM)
  14. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 6, 2015 -> 08:02 AM) Their pitching staff outside of a couple guys looks pretty shaky so far. That's a gentle way of putting it.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 6, 2015 -> 02:14 AM) Robertson obviously is amazing right now. He's going to have one of those special seasons. There has to be a contender that needs an automatic closer. Sox's mission is to get that team to give us Kris Bryant type talent. 4 players for Robertson and make 2 of them studs and one with at least Beckham-like ability. You know how valuable it is to have a closer who is automatic to a contender? It's huge. No one is giving up a Kris Bryant type talent for Robertson, let alone three other players. Free agents will never sign here again. Let's say the Sox turn it around next year (or late this season), but the lack of a closer screws them. What then?
  16. Hawk not every pitcher needs -meister added to their name.
  17. QUOTE (shysocks @ May 5, 2015 -> 10:58 AM) I haven't watched much at all so I'm in the same boat and I get your point. In fact, I'll even boldly predict that Bryant won't have as good a career as Ted Williams. But any time you can be mentioned in a sentence with him, you're doing okay. Gordon Beckham was being declared a future multi-time MVP after his rookie season.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 02:24 PM) +1
  19. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ May 4, 2015 -> 11:09 PM) I just have to say poor Niko, he's good enough to get more than 2 minutes even in a playoff game on any other team. I just don't want him in when TT is in. I think when TT is out they definitely should bring in Miro.
  20. Rose said it was a stinger in the interview. Whew.
  21. JIMMY G BUCKETS
  22. So 4 of Derrick's points have been waved off entirely because LeBron James is LeBron James.
  23. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 4, 2015 -> 08:13 PM) Rose was in the air before he set up. No charge. Weber even noticed that Bron Bron's feet were moving.
