  1. Chris Getz's favorite baseball publication lays out the argument that the White Sox and JR are now the poster child for the one thing that can ruin the sport: horrendous ownership.
  2. Literally lays out how he was the inflection point, but you have to come in and provide a Bob Dole defense of him.

Based on precedent, he'd acquire a 35-year-old OF in AAA as a "future building block" or some s%*#.
  4. Two thoughts: 1) Other than Jerry, it seems that TLR is the root cause of a lot of strife in the org. 2) @southsider2k5 looks like our theory about the new organizational attitude towards Latinos might hold weight if you read what Olney and Rogers are thinly implying.
  5. I find myself attached to pre-Getz as GM minor leaguers / guys like Robert and Crochet. Yeah, Robert has stunk this year, but whatever, I'm still attached to the guy. Guys that have been around for years — even Vaughn, Sosa and Sheets — it makes me happy when they're successful. I could care less about Fletcher, DeLoach, Berroa, Vargas, Amaya, Zavala, etc. To me, they represent nothing but Getz's hubris. Which probably isn't fair to them, but they're what Getz has tried to sell Sox fans as his justification for being a GM.
  6. Talk about unprofessional! They should ban the scoreboard.

Man, what a great trade by Rick Hahn to get Juan Carela. Getting a possible starter for a rental reliever.
  8. Let's add Jake McCarthy, Robles and Bart. It's like Joc being a Sox player. Add in Romy and Burger, and baby, you got a stew going.
  9. At the end of the day, no matter what the Tories here say, people here love the Sox. They'll enjoy a win at the park because they like going to games and rooting for players that we've grown attached to over the years. We just want Jerry to own an infamous record, especially because he'll always be cited as the reason. The 1899 Spiders were basically made a AAA team. The 1962 Mets were an expansion. The Sox? It's all Jerry and his cronies.
  10. Other than "sell the team," what are they chanting?
  11. Since NY Times owns the Athletic, this felt like a good home for this profile Here's a gift article for those who want to read it. Some choice quotes from the guys in the 108.
  12. 5 of the players in the potentially history making game were acquired by Getz, 4 via trade. This is his bed.
  13. This encapsulates the WTF emotion pretty succinctly to me.
  14. Milkman is correct. It's the true function of TLR.
  15. This is actually the most bat s%*# crazy sentence ever written on this board. Like, you shouldn't be a sports fan if you're thinking this way, because you're wishing for other teams to fail so yours can succeed.
  16. Considering his trades so far, I am terrified of Getz trading Crochet and Robert.
  17. Getz seemingly axed his "rivals" (KW Jr., Haber) immediately then spent a year going "hmmmm"
  18. "Hey Edgar, want to get some reps with the worst team of all-time?"
  19. It crosses a green line.
