  1. Sending Eaton may have been risky. And man...Jose needs to develop patience.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 14, 2014 -> 02:55 PM) The Sox talent evaluators do need some help though. Flowers and L. Garcia appear to not be big leaguers and Beckham was a bust for that slot he was selected. Also our minor league outfielders that were supposed to be amazing and were picked high stink as well. What's more, Viciedo appears to be blah at best. All I ask is more efficient talent evaluation! Cause that's so easy. Sure struck out on those Sale and Quintana guys.
  3. But would the Sox prefer to start Rodon's clock if they got Montes de Oca as well
  4. Rick Hahn will acquire everyone for cash considerations
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 13, 2014 -> 04:05 PM) Doug Padilla ‏@ESPNChiSox 3m Chris Sale's porn/CHP mustache is no more. Said he was sick of it a week ago, and finally went to the razor. HALLELUJAH

QUOTE (The Mighty Mite @ Jun 13, 2014 -> 09:42 AM) My throne in Florida? Grow up. Says the 68 year old man who thinks that because he checks his iPhone he's more of a Sox fan than all of Chicago.

QUOTE (The Mighty Mite @ Jun 13, 2014 -> 08:35 AM) 20,000 to watch Sale go up against Scherzer. Piss poor. Something is seriously wrong up there, a big market team and we are averaging 19,000+ a game. 28th in MLB in attendance. We have a nice team with a great new star in Abreu and one of the best pitchers in MLB, the team does not give up and deserves some support. Right now if I owned the Sox and the stadium contract was up I would move this team to somewhere were it would be appreciated. Chicago does not deserve the White Sox. I want all of you to know that I'm a 68 year old die hard White Sox fan who has lived and died with this team since 1953, I still get up in the middle of the night and check the Sox score on my I Phone and for me the to say this is sacreligious. I know the Sox have addressed some of the pricing issues but Sox fans seem like they have just lost interest in the team. I have lived in Florida for over 20 years but I supported the team the 48 years I lived up there and would still do so, every year when the Sox come to Tampa you will see me at the Trop. I worked evenings when we lived up there but always tried to make one game every home stand. I also belong to another Sox Board and there were 3 threads about last nights game. That's sad coming from a membership of 8,000. Bro tells cool story

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 03:23 PM) What's so outlandish about my statement? Do you not believe me when I say I get weird comments and looks when I tell people I believe? Badger is a great man. He does not judge Greg. the third person, And you wouldn't believe me when I say that I get told I'm getting/deserve eternal damnation from people when they find out that not only am I not religious, I was raised Jewish and therefore never knew peace/God. I got this s*** from my friends growing up until they reached the point where they decided "being a good person" overrode the "what religion are you" qualification. Most of them are still religious. You live in a liberal college town filled with young adults. Go anywhere else in Kansas and it's a different story. I feel uncomfortable in parts of Missouri and Illinois where being an Jewish (culturally) atheist puts a giant target on my back.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 02:48 PM) Proves my point. Look at all those christians and look how the small minority have stifled us completely. This might be the greatest post of all time.
  18. A+ on the new thread title.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 02:32 PM) If the economy is getting better then that will help us greatly. Might even help me not get laid off. Hopefully that is happening. You know my feelings on No. 2. As far as the Christian thing, cmon Quin. You know Christians have been silenced effectively. Yes by the mass media mainly but tons of believers can't even say they go to church on Sunday without getting looks of disbelief or getting mocked. I know. People around here think I'm an idiot for going to church every week. I have the same feelings on 2. Gun laws in Israel are tight (for obvious reasons), so when I saw someone walking down the street with an M16 (which was not rare) I felt safe because it was a trained soldier. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 02:41 PM) As someone that was raised religiously Jewish and is now non-religious, I get s*** for not being religious and told that due to my lack of morals I'm an awful person. Goes both ways. Christians haven't been "silenced," it's that vocal Christians are giving the majority a bad name and that the religious norm (Church every Sunday, prayers at dinner) are no longer the norm. Not being the norm =/= silenced.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 02:20 PM) I do appreciate your statistics and believe them. I am pleased crime is down overall and did read it is going up in NY again with people blaming the mayor. At any rate, these bulls*** American nutjob on American deaths definitely are on the rise as our president stated how they are becoming the norm. But I do accept your statistics on the overall crime scene. Please comment on the rest of my own rant. You can't deny that right now America is trending downward in a huge way. You can't be happy with all these school shootings and the economy and everything I listed and deadspin listed in a joking way. Economy is rebounding and is now at it's pre-recession job levels. School shootings are troubling. Still, less gun violence than decades past. We just know more due to the 24/7 news cycle. There is a non-Christian minority that is vocal, there is a Christian majority that is just as vocal.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 02:13 PM) Greg has never been one to let facts influence his opinion.
  22. If Tanaka wins 20 and Abreu hits 50, you'll see a real interesting debate.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 02:04 PM) That deadspin article was great. I know it was a joke but it makes you think. Right now America is like Gordon Beckham of last season. Or DeAza of this season. Really very very very little about it makes you think anything positive is going on. Horrific leadership in government. Horrific economy. Terrible crime rate of American nutjobs killing innocent Americans, making us look very bad internationally and nationally, and pretty much nobody caring about doing anything about it. A Godless loud minority effectively silencing those who believe, pretty much making believers shut up when they talk about morals and values and pleasing the higher power. Horrific business leaders who have set the trend of laying off hordes of people just so they can staff unpaid interns and/or parttimers who get no benefits. Horrible healthcare system that even s***s on the U.S. veterans. Right now the USA is trending down down down. Can the USA pivk it up as Beckham has and start inching upward? Good luck to us all. Hillary's not going to lead the change parade to greatness as she fulfills her destiny of being awarded the presidency which people feel is owed her for some reason. Obama has jumped the shark in that regard in that he's thrown up his hands against the assholes in congress, God bless us all as we try to prove the odds wrong and pull a Beckham like recovery out of nowhere. Sigh. Greg, turn off Fox News for a minute and come to the realization that Christianity is still very much alive in the United States.
  24. Also jesus f***ing christ, do the Sox just have like an open tab at the Rogers Center?
  25. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 01:58 PM) May as well include the Tuiasosopo trade in this thread too. Sox got him from Toronto for cash Game changer.
