  1. He's as much of a prospect as DeLoach and Fletcher. The only difference is Getz didn't acquire him. And before everyone starts banging the drum on Fletcher's defense, yes, he has looked amazing lately. He also looked like a newborn deer earlier in the season. Maybe they'll actually get a hitting instructor in Charlotte of all places and they can possibly have a RF with some power.
  2. The answer to all futility questions is "yes."
  3. Jerry could have his two in-house play-by-play broadcasters all-over national airwaves, but no, we get Schriffen instead.
  4. The Sox call up Schumaker: "Hey, think about it. If you make the playoffs with this team you'll be a lege-" Schumaker: "Sorry, couldn't hear you. Was signing my contract with the Cardinals."
  5. You don't think he's going to have the single greatest defensive season of all time?* *Since we could measure DRS
  6. Hey, that's not your line! Eh, part of me thinks that we got the complete opposite problem of what we were worried about with Tony. We all thought he'd be a hard ass and kill a good clubhouse, but instead the clubhouse ran wild and egos were left unchecked. Pedro continued it. Kopech shares blame, but, like a lot of issues, we can trace some of this back to TLR.
  7. And no interceptions or lost fumbles by Caleb. He kept missing on home run balls, but he didn't lose them the game like Levis. Speaking of no interceptions or lost fumbles: Fields had a good game against Atlanta. 200 combined yards. The 4th rounder may be in sight. As for the 2nd pick from the Panthers, uhhh
  8. Old school Bears win work for now.
  9. Punt God doing what he can
  10. The Bears OL is the Sox RF/2B
  11. If anyone wants a...highlight? Fields is doing well at the moment. Keep that 4th rounder in sight.
  12. Teven Jenkins #1 receiver?
  13. From your lips to the endless void.
  14. Velus made sure we don't escape the White Sox experience
  15. At least they got Punt God?
  16. Oh for f***'s sake
  17. I cannot tell you how much that deal is loathed by New Yorkers.
  18. I'll speed run the discussion 1. He might if we had Jake McCarthy, Joey Bart and Victor Robles for dirt cheap instead of Fletcher, Maldonado/Chuckie, and, I guess Sheets is the odd man out at this point? 2) Yeah well Barfield made the call on McCarthy vs. Fletcher and Robles + Bart were old, busted prospects. Romy is 27-years-old. 3) The Sox should take fliers on guys who have prior success / big time talent, but have failed elsewhere. 4) Like former 6 WAR All-Star shortstop Nicky Lopez? Or Top 40 prospect Vargas? 5) Waste of money when Romy is cheap. Same for Maldonado, Brebbia and Tim Hill. We could have kept Declan Cronin around. 6) Well, Getz is cleaning house of pro scouts who make bad recommendations. 7) Why did he keep them in the first place? Or let Tosar recommend Vargas? 😎 This is where someone else hops in
  19. But then we'd have missed out on Nicky Lopez
  20. Modern front offices won't care because they'll use data, advanced metrics, etc. Since the Sox are the ones selling him, we basically just remove the Rockies from the situation.
  21. Why in God's name can they not format the fucking photo correctly by now?
  22. I thought about that quote and it made me realize: Paddy had to work under unfair restrictions put in place by JR, Kenny, Hahn and Getz. They should fire Getz and make Paddy the GM so he can do a better job.
  23. It really comes down to this: If Generic General Manager was brought in instead of Getz, would fans want Getz retained or would they want him canned along with Paddy, Haber, Pedro, Tosar (who apparently got to weigh in on trade deadlines) and some scouts.
