  1. QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 03:28 PM) Put that man up on the BANNER .......................... Hell no. Before we put up Black-Eye PK, he was near .400 QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 05:24 PM) Like the Bartolo Colon trade? And the Javy trade, and the Contreras trade, and the Freddy trade, and the Danks trade, and the Quentin trade...
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 02:08 AM) How does that explain the success of Ventura? Ozzie speaks to the media, to the public....Ventura choose his words carefully and speak in a way that commands respect from the players and coaches. He's not loud or controversial or charismatic in the way you wish him to be, but it has worked. Let's look at another example of in the Ozzie School, Bobby Valentine. Has his "act" worked in Boston? Not at all. This whole idea of "speaking forcefully" is why our country has become so polarized. There's no reasonable people left. Greg, how many times this season has Robin Ventura thrown anyone under the bus? Greg, how many times has Ozzie thrown his own Marlins' players under the bus this season? Let's see, we have Logan Morrison, Bell, Zambrano, Gaby Sanchez, Bonifacio....the team makes a HUGE comeback in that game two days ago, Bell blows yet another save when that's expressly what he's paid to do, the guy's clearly not in 100% good shape or condition (similar to Jenks his last 2-3 seasons) and it's the whole team's fault, but NOT Bell's? Even Bell has to think that is asinine as the closer. Think its a coincidence that Ventura has been nothing but supportive of every player on the team, most especially Dunn, DeAza, Viciedo, Beckham and even the likes of Morel and Ohman? You don't get it. Ozzie's act is new and fresh. He keeps the clubhouse loose and fire off his players so they can go out and perform 100%. If they don't, it's because they're too serious and not listening to Ozzie. After all, he has a ring, so who are they gonna listen to? Him or some no name like Jack McKeon? OZZIE IS GREAT!
  3. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 11:20 PM) Hahaha. Great job Gordon, pretty awesome. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_..._video_22841869
  4. Guys, Marlins won today in extras. I think it's because of the loose clubhouse that Hanley keeps.
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 10:44 PM) You guys are all gluttons for punishment. I've had a bad day.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 10:32 PM) It doesn't matter what he did or didn't do. He has one ring and that's more than any other manager in Chicago since 1920 or so. But he wasn't responsible, so doesn't matter. Only the players matter. Carl Everett > Ozzie Guillen. Everett has more rings as a player in Chicago.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 10:29 PM) As are the players and GM and everybody on the "team." I'll never understand the Ozzie hate on here. Makes no sense. Nope. Ozzie did nothing those years. Or any other years.
  8. YOUK! ADA! BECKHAM! VICIEDO! AJ! ALEXEI! BULLPEN!
  9. YOUK! ADA! HAMILTON!
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 09:26 PM) De Aza is awesome.
  11. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 09:22 PM) It seems like De Aza almost injures himself once a week. But to his credit, he soldiers through.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 09:21 PM) Basically, lakers/heat in the finals. Whatever. Even if rose is healthy from day one, come up with a scenario that doesn't involve 1989 Michael Jordan rejoining the franchise in which the bulls could beat either? Injuries to LeBron and Nash.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 09:16 PM) Well, if the Heat get Ray Allen, it won't matter much. Still, I've had enough of this crap. The Lakers do what they do, fine. But I'm sick of the excuses for the Bulls (balta). Steve Nash + Lakers > Heat + Ray That's not counting if LA goes all out and tries to get Howard for Bynum.
  14. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 09:10 PM) Apparently we really want to lose this game. Offense has done s*** and f*** all since that 2nd inning I fail to see what the Rangers offense has done.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 08:24 PM) The one constant in the NBA is the Lakers getting elite talent for nothing. Well, it'll stop the Heat. But come the f*** on. Another "Lakers get everything for nothing" deal?.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 07:38 PM) I said they are "also responsible." Nope. Only players. Heath Bell blew the games, not Ozzie. Players lose the games. GM assembles players, so therefore, Kenny orchestrated '05. No one else. Case closed.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 09:07 PM) I want to reopen the case. How are the marlins, 4 games blow .500, a lock to make the playoffs? Explain yourself. Cause of their classy manager.
  18. AJ enjoys pissing off the Rangers. Gordo!
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 03:34 PM) The interview I watched after last night's game was great. He was calm and professional. I guess after that, he decided to rant on the pitchers. Big deal. Don't you Ozzie haters see you have sold your souls to modern sports cliches. You love the manager (when winning), then tire of the manager because he's old news, been around too long. Unless the team keeps winning divisions you tire of him and want him gone even though he's young and as good a manager as anybody out there. You fail to realize the players are the ones actually playing and also responsible for winning division titles. You sell out to the dreaded sports cliche and are no longer loyal to the guy who gave you THE ULTIMATE THRILL as a baseball fan. A WS title. And if anybody could have engineered a postseason run as Oz did, then why the hell has it happened once in 90 years or whatever the string is. Cubs still haven't done it. OZZIE ROCKS!!!! It was for the reasons posted above my response. Yes Miami will get in. Hopefully it's destiny we meet them in the WS and beat them. Then managers are not important and Ozzie is irrelevant to all of the White Sox success in 05.
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 05:31 PM) Oh, really? I thought Lee had full veto power? Limited.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 09:16 AM) This is a strange year for the Sox. I don't remember them having these kind of injury totals for something like a decade. I blame the Bulls medical staff.
  22. QUOTE (soxmaniac! @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 09:52 AM) go sox go, go sox go, hey chicago whattaya say, the sox are gonna win today last time i did that they won 19-2 against a top team. obey the superstition
