  1. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 12:38 PM) Yes, he has a good arm and great range. Then if he can get his average up to .300 in Charlotte, I'm game.
  2. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 11:48 AM) Floyd available in relief today. If he's used, Sale would move back to Wednesday Please let this happen.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 01:51 PM) Dick Allen is the most reasonable poster on this site ... period. He is the guy you'd most want to go get a beer with. Greg, is getting a beer with a guy your main qualification with someone? As for most reasonable, I nominate Kyyle for that, because he has to police us.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 11:09 AM) Just out of curiosity, I was wondering what you guys would have done in the offseason. My personal preference was to keep Buehrle and deal Danks, but reading through gamethreads I was somewhat surprised to see people agreeing with the decision that was made. Obviously Danks current situation and season plus Buehrle's performance in Miami have made it look really bad. But at the same time, I cannot say I am surprised to see it turn out this way. You knew what you were going to get with Buehrle every season, mid to high 3.00 ERA, 12-14 wins, innings eater, stretches of surprising dominance. Unfortunately to me, I also felt like i knew what we were getting with Danks every season, a pitcher that can never seem to hold a lead, strange injuries and ineffectiveness for long stretches, anywhere from 8-13 wins in a season. What say you? Because of my love for Buehrle, I agreed with this. Also, we could have gotten a nice piece for Danks.
  5. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 10:33 AM) no, actually, she doesn't Then how about at age 18 all children are given a test assessing their knowledge of the Constitution, American History, Presidents, etc.? That'll work.
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 10:20 AM) Do you notice how long that sheath is? I notice the Wolverine claws, shack notices the penis sheath. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 10:20 AM) I am uncomfortable discussing this with you
  7. To knock off the Dream Team? Yikes. PG - Paul/Williams/Rondo SG - Kobe/Wade/Rose (healthy) SF - Durant/Melo PF - LeBron/Love C - Dwight/Chandler They have a backcourt advantage, but the frontcourt would be eaten alive.
  8. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 10:12 AM) Want
  9. We bought for Wednesday JUST to see Sale pitch. Wtf. And my dad hates Floyd. I feel ripped off.
  10. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 10:38 PM) AMEN. f*** giving them Mitchell. Buehrle's contract is so back loaded it was designed to be traded if they didn't contend.
  11. Can't even watch it on MLB.TV because it's blacked out here. f*** you rain.
  12. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 07:17 PM) You would have to understand my larger point that all these people are being used for political pawns. And it's sick. You would have to understand my larger point that there people who have grown up here and some of them are the embodiment of the American Dream. And don't act like the conservatives don't use them as pawns.
  13. Humber is Black Widow. He's been faking this whole time. Also, because screw CucHumber until we find a good nickname.
  14. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 03:57 PM) Again, there's a legal way to do it. I know people who are illegal, and despite whatever I think of them personally, they shouldn't be here. 19th century is different. We didn't have this entitlement society that we do now... and a lot of it is because people like you make choices to grow our government to take care of "us". Not that it matters - and they still had a process to follow, but nevermind that fact. And you purposely put the senate vote down - I had forgotten but guess what, they had the 60 votes. But they wussed out and didn't pass the law. IT IS NOT LAW... oh wait, King Obama gets to write laws now too, and that's okay to you. UNJUST LAWS ARE LAW. Change it if you don't like it. Oh wait, it wasn't the political expedient thing to do at the time... so they got used as a political toy. Then again, ILLEGAL hispanics just became gays. Political toys. Glad to know you all never care about the people you jump so much to help as nothing more then political pawns. Well I for one do, so I hope you're just referring to Balta because I'd die for my friends that are illegals and my friends that are gays, just like the rest of my friends.
  15. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 01:06 PM) The problem is that the legal way to do it has become so unnecessarily convoluted that it prevents most people from legal immigration. You see people forget that back in the late 19th and early 20th century, all you had to do was get off a boat, and you were allowed to legally immigrate here. You didnt have to get on a waiting list, hope your number was pulled etc. Im not the child of an immigrant, I am 3rd generation. But if it wasnt for the American immigration policies of those eras, its likely that I would not exist, as a good part of my family would have been killed in World War II. People forget that during the 1930s the US created laws that were anti-capitalism and isolationism/protectonism ruled the day. If the law itself is unjust, then those who break the law are not criminals. If it is against the law for a black man to drink water from a white water fountain, we do not consider the man who breaks that law a criminal or deserving of punishment, we consider that individual a freedom fighter. Just like immigrants today, who fight for the freedom to immigrate to the best country in the world. We do not have the right to deny other people the ability to come to the US for a better life. Every human deserves the chance to live in the US if they want to. And to answer the question, yes we accept everyone who wants to come here who is not a criminal or does not have a disease. It is just as simple as that, the only reason most of us are here, is because those who came before, were generous enough to give our families a chance. Its just hypocrisy. Like
  16. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 12:51 PM) You thinking of the right guy??? Garcia shot 29% from 3 last year Like he USED to. My god. Deng used to be a s***ty 3pt shooter. Garcia outside of last year has been a good three point shooter. Then flip Boozer and Calderon (Raps want a veteran SF/PF that can run with Nash). PG: Calderon - FA (Kirk)/Watson SG: Rip - Garcia SF: Barnes - Butler PF: Taj - 29th Pick (Nicholson?) C : Noah - Asik I'd love somehow to be able to get Ross or J. Lamb and have the trio of Rose - Ross/Lamb - Barnes, but it won't happen.
  17. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 12:45 PM) So you'd make the deal for a 31 year old backup but not a 22 year old starter?? For DENG. Not NOAH.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 12:33 PM) Is Garcia anything other than a backup? He's paid like $6 million a year, that's basically dealing for the #5 pick to first order right? Nah, but if he can shoot like he used to from deep, he'd be a nice rotation piece for one year (signed for this year and a team option).
