  1. JUAN! I miss Uribe. Well, his character. He did some frustrating s*** occasionally.
  2. Dee Gordon making Alexei looking like a defensive genius.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 10:11 PM) He's real Hollywood ain't he? If only he were interesting!
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 09:04 PM) Too bad there's no "Twilight Zone" where another manager could have been inserted in the Marlins manager's office to see if there's any difference at all in the attendance for the Marlins in their new stadium. Just not buying that Ozzie is drawing any fans at all after the initial excitement wore out. I think the theory of having a "marketable manager" versus having a first place team was erroneous. Then again, nobody could have anticipated the Nationals would be this good, this soon. Or the Phillies being this bad this quickly.
  5. Noah is untouchable to me for unless we're getting a clear, definitive upgrade for the team.
  6. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 02:39 PM) *Scene: Kenny Williams' office* Robin: But I thought we were doing well. We're in first place... KW: But you've got no spunk, no wow factor. Robin: Do I have to? Doesn't the team's performance speak for itself? KW: *shakes head* You don't get it, kid, we're irrelevant. You are irrelevant. Robin: We could win the division; we could-- KW: *slams fist on desk* YOU ARE BORING! I don't care about winning! There's a team north of here that gets all the attention. I want that! Robin: But they suck. KW: You suck!! Robin: Calm down, man. KW: I'll calm down when you get suspended. I'll calm down when your kids Tweet something bad about me. Robin: I don't think my kids would-- KW: What kind of dad are you? Huh? Sissy.
  7. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 02:20 PM) But seriously, Greg, the Sox are NOT trrelevant right now. They are in first place. They have a guy who could end up being the HR leader for the season. They have an outstanding young pitcher that is just about the best in the AL. They have a first baseman that keeps getting better every year and after every pitch to the face. They have a talented, young bullpen. AND they DON'T have Ozzie Guillen, thankfully, because his shennanigans would take the focus off of all the good stuff I just mentioned. BUT THEY AREN'T FUNNY AND A REALITY TV SHOW. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 02:25 PM) Many players commented in the off-season about how much of a distraction all the off-the-field Ozzie stuff started to become the last couple of years. Interesting article BUT THE FUNNY?
  8. Sale strikes out 27 en route to a perfect game and provides the games only run on a 9th inning HR.
  9. WHEN WE DOING THIS?
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 01:22 PM) General warning here. Telling people to STFU isnt going to be tolerated, this thread was moving along nicely and moved back a few steps here today. Last warning edit: balta wins the warning post race ...how lightly would it be taken if I said "STFU" to this post? ...please don't ban me. ...I love all of you.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 12:30 PM) But George Bush never won the World Series in Chicago. Sig'd.
  12. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 12:21 PM) MJ's block is pretty ridiculous, and he did it as an old man. LMAO at that video. "Jordan was sick. Not like a sinus infection, but like the kids say."
  13. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 12:04 PM) lol, what's the story behind that reaction? Any idea? This block by Shannon Brown
  14. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:51 AM) Meanwhile, Quinarvy's approval rating remains high. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 12:07 PM) New polls suggest he's also sexy.
  15. Weren't we rebooting TalkBulls for this sole reason?
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:39 AM) Please. You and everybody here owes me for bringing some variety and a different perspective to this abomination of a thread. You and the rest of the crybabies in here chased off one of the best posters (felix) this board has ever seen. Why? Because he chose not to suck Rose's cock and recognize this is the NBA thread and not the Bulls thread aka Rose is so amazing because he's humble aka the refs are the reason the bulls ever lose aka LeBron should never see the ft line and if he does its a conspiracy garbage. I miss Felix.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 01:28 AM) Name one manager who could have orchestrated the type of run we had in the 2005 postseason? Those who fail to credit Ozzie for having the right clubhouse attitude as we mauled everybody are ingrates IMO. The use of his starting pitching and refusal to over-manage, every move of his worked. He was important to our '05 run and yet many people seem to actually hate him. THIS AMAZES ME. Truly insane IMO. So it ended poorly. It's not like he was the only reason for our demise. Dunn, Rios, KW's idiotic moves like Manny and some ridiculous trades ... need I go on?? George Bush Approval Ratings George W. Bush's High Point: 90%, 2001 George W. Bush's Low Point: 25%, 2008 THINGS CHANGE IN A SPAN OF SEVEN YEARS GREG.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 11:32 AM) I am going a different route this time. Gotta change it up a little bit. I will, however, say "f*** WEST COAST LATE GAMES" Like.
  19. Ahem, you forgot "f*** the Dodgers"
  20. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 12:46 AM) What a bulletproof argument. How can you anyone deny the awesomeness of Ozzie? THE OZZIE-NESS OF OZZIE! To be fair, the Tigers signed Prince Fielder and some other free agents, so Jim Leyland has to be up there. And the Angels signed Albert Pujols and some other free agents, so Mike Scoscia is up there too. And the Yankees signed Dewayne Wise and some other free agents, so Joe Girardi is up there too. Because the fundamental reason behind a manager being both a respected and a good manager is when free agents sign with the team he manages. I mean, why else would Alex Rodriguez have signed multiple 10-year, $250+ million contracts if it weren't for Johnny Oates and Joe Girardi? I mean, I don't know about you guys, but if I'm Joey Votto, the only way I sign that 10 year, $225 million extension with the Reds is if I know that Dusty Baker is going to be my manager for all 10 of those years. I mean, for real guys, Todd Helton signed his 9 year, $141.5 million extension with the Rockies because he knew that Clint Hurdle was a very well respected manager in the major leagues and wanted him to be the manager forever and ever, but when he went off and got fired (because management in Colorado obviously has nothing to do with it), the Pittsburgh Pirates brought him in so that they knew for certain they'd be able to resign Andrew McCutcheon to a contact extension. All of this is soundproof logic, which thus, makes Ozzie Guillen pretty easily the best manager of all time. It's simply bad luck that his team is in 4th place. So did he just get respected? Because before Dunn we couldn't sign big name free agents. So he clearly isn't respected in Chicago. Got it greg! Thanks!

  22. Remember how good Mitchell was looking before his injury? If he's close to looking like that again, that'll be great.
  23. Damn that is a good fanbase.
