  1. that would be sarcasm since the last day of winter hit triple digits
  2. I thought the members broke the site when Teel went down.
  3. This is very difficult in baseball and so few are good at it. This was all over 10 years too late in this organization. I just don't want them to be like the Brewers and trade away because of salary and be confident of the replacements. Even the best organizations hit and miss. When the miss is in the postseason for not spending even that will dwindle interest. The Brewers and once the Rays were really good for 162 but that's it.
  4. Oh well on the bright side we will get to see a lot of young players and an inexperienced manager. We underestimate the learning curve in MLN and think it is like the NFL or NBA. We will be pronouncing a bad trade, a bust, signing ,nor big league material soon enough. It's our nature. The nice difference is the team will be more watchable. Will wins and losses be more important than watching players develop?
  5. Being the largest market in a small market division and acting like the smallest market in a small market division has become a curse for fans. We do our best to overhype eveything.
  6. how many of us will live than long? Somehow I think Reinsdorf will.
  7. What is real improvement? Not losing 100 games? We aim low. I think he has brought the organization up to current standards with the rest of the league. It's hard to ignore the Marlins GM brought that team close to .500 in his second year. Maybe the way this organization as is we might be looking at 2030 if they keep going the cheapass route. That's really not on Getz
  8. I was thinking last night of seeing the D'Backs vs. Mariners until I seen lawn prices were $80. Do ST prices get lower towards the season? I was looking at Sox vs. Royals a week before the season, $30 for the lawn. ' I also wonder if you wont see the guys on the league roster play.
  9. Hard to find a team in both Central that doesn't. The Cards are now a cheapass organization. The test for Detroit is too keep one of the best starters in baseball. There's media and fans who follow the cheapass philosophy as well. No need for a salary cap since it's imaginative. I think the Cubs are only about winning the division because they could easily spend but they don't compared to the coast teams.
  10. Possibly fix something that was broken long ago......... That will take a patient fan base but they need to remember they are Chicago and not the Marlins. It's sad our discussions are the same as those who are fans from the likes of those from habitual losing small market teams. FA is more of a depression. We our giddy over a FA who hasn't played MLB and then our thoughts are about trading them. This is common among fans in both Central divisions.
  11. I do often with jealousy
  12. I'm actually jealous of how looks at 90. Some of his decisions are a sign of aging
  13. the female version of Chris Collinsworth?
  14. I wonder what the price of a ST ticket is for this game. Last year lawn seating for any Dodgers game anywhere was around $80. I'd only go to see Ohtani and today would've been a waste of money.
  15. predictable response from Stone
  16. some of us are not doing so well
  17. borders on political stuff........that was predictable
  18. Only reserved for paying $$$ for a Dodgers ST ticket and Ohtani does not play or is even present
  19. when you live out here it's like 41 to you
  20. Not today. Better next week.
  21. Most team can be in that category. All it takes is for most team to suffer injuries like needing TJ surgery.
  22. I pay the extra out here so I can watch the D'Backs BTW always take advantage to watch MiLB as well. That is now included.
  23. All I want is for him to field that position and stay healthy to do it. I first hated that trade but they got a CF hopeful instead of the farm system nopeful
