Maybe this will lead to a full rebrand. With Wahoo going, I can't imagine the "Indians" name will be too far behind. At the very least, I hope they come up with something new to use as their new primary logo in place of that bland block "C."

QUOTE (35thstreetswarm @ Jan 22, 2018 -> 12:18 PM) ...maybe with some/all numbering and lettering in white on white. No fan of the Lebron-era heat, but their "White Hot" jerseys were one of the coolest ever. Here's an idea of how a white-on-white uniform could look:

QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jan 20, 2018 -> 11:39 AM) So essentially re-introducing the uniforms from 1987-1990 and simply swapping out the red and blue colors with silver and black? Here's how the '87-90 unis would look in their modern colors:

Brewers Acquire Christian Yelich & sign Lorenzo Cain
coco1997 replied to GGajewski18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/2202512...er-hoping-trade Apparently Starlin Castro is now asking to be traded from the Marlins. Would it make sense to take on Castro's contract to lower the price for Yelich? -

QUOTE (Quin @ Dec 22, 2017 -> 01:44 PM) Push for Yelich next year once we know what we've got. Maybe Rutherford has a huge rebound, Dunning and Burger enter the Top 100, etc. And I wouldn't make the trade without signing someone like Machado. But man, think of that lineup. CF - Yelich 2B - Moncada 3B - Machado 1B - Abreu LF - Garcia RF - Jimenez C - Castillo DH - Delmonico? SS - Anderson OK, pipe dream over. Where's Robert? -
Gotta get Chavis back in any Abreu trade scenario with Boston. He's blocked by Devers at third and would be blocked by the guy he's getting traded for.

I wonder if Reinsdorf's history of not spending is the only reason the Sox have not come up in any of these articles about possible landing spots for Stanton. They have the prospect depth to get it done without mortgaging the future and will have virtually no money on the books once Shields is gone, which should at least make them worth mentioning.

I wouldn't trade those guys for two catchers when Narvaez is fairly serviceable and Collins is almost ready.

Astros fans are saying the team should wear their tequila sunrise uniforms for good luck tonight since today is Halloween and those jerseys somewhat resemble candy corn and I fully agree with them.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Oct 27, 2017 -> 04:49 PM) He's going to look really good playing for the Giants. What would the Giants give up prospect-wise? I thought their system was notoriously barren.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 13, 2017 -> 11:14 PM) It seems to me we've acquired all the prospects we need. No such thing.

Nats can't get a clutch hit to save their lives.

Thank God I'm not under any social obligation to root for the Cubs like last year.
-
The Sox one would be so much better if the front panel of the cap was white and the rest of the crown was black and the "X" on the jersey and cap was consistent.

QUOTE (heirdog @ Jul 19, 2017 -> 12:01 PM) I suppose any return can be debated but one constant theme I've noticed is any critic of the deals Hahn has made to this point say "one player short" or "a tick light on the back end." Sale trade: "should've included Devers instead of Basabe & Diaz" Eaton trade: "great but should've pried Robles instead of Giolito" Quintana trade: "back end should've been better with Candelario" Fraz/DRob/Kahnle trade: "Clarkin should've been 3rd piece w Andujar or Florial" Given that we have basically been shopping most of these guys for over a year, Rick and team have a pretty good idea of the true market and what the best offers available. Given that Rick has shown patience, even with some impatience on this board, it's fairly clear that he didn't just jump on any offer to dump these guys. Given that there are still about 2 weeks left until the deadline, Rick's hand wasn't forced and ultimately these met the threshold of the type of return they could expect. I'm extremely happy with these trades both individually and overall. I believe that the Sox did ample due diligence and extracted the appropriate returns that are realistic. I want the Sox to seek potential superstars and the more high end chips the more likely we hit on a few. Our system has plenty of B/C prospects that will likely be okay or surprise. Give me the blue chippers all day every day and I'll sacrifice the back end of deals. I really think the Shelby Miller trade skewed a lot of people's perceptions of what a realistic return is for a good, young, cost-controlled player.

Q traded to Cubs/Jimenez, Cease ++ to Sox

QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 03:39 PM) Hi guys, random question, don't follow too much baseball currently: Is there a chance that the White Sox trade Abreu? I'd imagine he'd net a nice prospect from a team needing some hitting power at the deadline. I'd love to see him go. I'd only move Abreu if Hahn gets blown away by an offer. Wouldn't be a bad thing to keep Abreu around as a mentor to Moncada and move him to DH in a few years assuming he gets extended and the Sox bring in a better defensive first baseman. -
I'd say it's a very safe bet.

Looks like Braun is hurt again. Maybe they'd take Melky in a package with Q?

Lewis Brinson would look great in a White Sox uniform.

DRAFT TRACKER 2017, and Day One Discussion
coco1997 replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in FutureSox Board
Dammit, A's take Austin Beck. -
Cubs load the bases with one out in the ninth, Zobrist flies out and Heyward strikes out swinging. This felt like a game they would've come back and won last year.

I figured it was pronounced "Ro-bear" based on the way Soler's name is pronounced.

Special Event Jerseys and Caps Announced

Yes, the Sox are giving away 1917 replica jerseys on July 29th, so it's a safe bet they'll be wearing throwbacks for that game. -
2017 White Sox Home and Away Uniform Change
coco1997 replied to Frank_Thomas's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 02:03 PM) I'm really disappointed that they haven't announced any throwbacks or anything to tie into the 100th anniversary of the 1917 World Series. Those would look better than just about any of the ones discussed above. Great logo. July 29th they are giving away replica 1917 jerseys, so it's a safe bet they'll be throwing back to 1917 for that game.
