  1. Time to go back to basic, win every series as much as possible.
  2. We just need people in front of him to get on base.
  3. QUOTE(drowninginflame @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 01:16 AM) shingo gets a ring too I hope Shingo is there!
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 10:24 PM) Damn school. Im at work but definitely will watch some of it. Go sox!
  5. WOW didnt notice the time. But good to see we are up 6 runs already.
  6. Great to see a 17 hits day back to back. I think the sox are ready to defend their championship.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 1, 2006 -> 02:10 AM) So...thanks to the heroics of our monster 3-4 hitters....who the rest of the AL will learn to dread...I am no longer without a win in game threads I have started. Thanks guys...now I can start game threads during the regular season without feeling like we're guaranteed to lose. That will be a pleasant change in our lineup. Having a 3-4 that scares the opposing players will definitely make the rest of our batters look good.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 02:33 PM) Crunk, eh? Pictures are a must. We need Kyle Orton like pix.
  9. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 08:16 AM) Did anyone else hear about the trophy being at Niketown on Michigan Ave. this weekend? Link? Hours? Details? Thx. I think the trophy will be there today till sunday or monday. Most of the time I heard from the radio were from 12-5pm all weekend.
  10. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 09:03 AM) I'd have my face in the toilet too. I'd expect retalitaion for the Haffner plunking. Intentional or not, there will be pay back. Thome better wear two elbow guards when facing the Indians. Im pretty sure the Indians are upset from choking last year when they only needed 1 game to make the playoffs. I think its expected that there will be some harsh words and hit by pitches. This is sooo good for the home opener.
  11. Anybody watching? How bad did Pods get hurt? Hope its not serious.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 02:39 PM) What happened? What's going on?
  13. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 12:45 PM) He's a virtual clone of Hee-Seop Choi. I guess teams don't value low AVG, decent OBP and power first basemen off the bench. Both Choi and Pena have massive holes in their swings though. Hey SSH2005, who's in you avatar? Is that Boone Logan.
  14. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 05:13 PM) He didn't pitch as bad as his stat line looks (nothing was hit particularly hard and there was an error in there) but he certainly didn't look good. You're right though, his command hasn't been there. The problem is, his ability to locate his pitches has been a big reason for his previous success. McCarthy seems to be having problem adjusting from starting to the bullpen. If we had better options, I would say send BMAC to AAA and start there.
  15. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 04:45 PM) After today's performance, I'd say he's doing pretty good. Its good to see that power stroke.
  16. Wow. They had Munson and Pena in the corners and I thought they would kill the sox for a long time.
  17. QUOTE(hi8is @ Mar 25, 2006 -> 07:27 PM) took the words right outta my head after i read the box score. =D Its good to see Anderson hitting well.
  18. QUOTE(JimH @ Mar 23, 2006 -> 07:24 PM) Interesting comment on Hideo Nomo. The last 10 days will be interesting to say the least. This guy Thornton will be the last guy on the pitching staff. They will work with him from now until the end of April at least because they have wanted this guy and it will take time. I do not see him pitching in any situations other than blowouts, preferably only if the Sox are losing, but Cooper and Kusnyer will work him hard. Frankly I am not concerned about his results these next 10 days, they are trying to fix mechanical things. Since KW and Cooper and Guillen like this guy and he's out of options, I highly doubt they put him thru waivers, at least for a while. We at SoxTalk might not like this scenario but IMO this is how it's gonna be. I can see it now, Thornton will be our Kevin Walker this year. I just dont see why they cant have him work his issues in AAA.
  19. Nice to see Anderson with 2 hits again.
  20. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 23, 2006 -> 04:23 PM) Amador smokes one to the SS so is still 5-4?
  21. I dont know why he is somewhat penciled to make the team? Is it because we traded for him? I dont want him to come North, he needs to work on his problems in the minors.
  22. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 21, 2006 -> 05:49 PM) He fell apart worse than Marte after an error by Uribe on a grounder by Brian Giles that would have ended the inning. Thornton was a great tipper
