QUOTE(R.Sweeney @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 10:02 AM) NO to Roberts ! The man also uses his bat as a walking cane. Ill put my vote in for No to Roberts.

I would trade Vazquez to the mets, pls Minaya trade for him.

KW always starts up with some small moves. If he can play good defense and not have Mack at center anymore, I am all up for that.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 9, 2006 -> 10:10 PM) This seems to be the White Sox Catch All-Thread at the moment, so I'll post this here. The White Sox went from 9th to 3rd in Runs and 1st to 10th in ERA from 2005 to 2006. It's clear that the pitching was a major problem, so I am in no way placing much blame on the offensive side of things, however... When you have a line-up with Konerko, Thome, and Dye would you rather surround them with players who get on base or guys who play all or nothing style baseball as the White Sox had. I ask this because everybody seems so high on Crede here, but if the White Sox 7-8-9 hadn't gotten on base at such a low clip (.323, .290, .257 respectively) I happen to believe that this team would have been a better all around baseball team. Rally Crede, his great defense, I'm trying not to be close minded here, I just happen to think in a line-up full of big boppers, you need the table setters to, and the demise of the 2006 White Sox could be somewhat credited to the lack of the Bill Mueller's for the Red Sox in '04, the Castillo's and Lowell's of the '03 Marlins, the David Eckstein's and Scott Spiezio's of the '02 Angels and so on.. Thoughts. With that thought, is Luis Castillo a free agent this year? He would look good with us but I know we have Iguchi.

Leading off for the 2007 white sox will be....

I hope we can snag Pierre and put him in left field. We need what Podsednik did in '05 where he stole bases successfuly, bunted and disrupted the pitcher's rhythm. Pierre can give us that. -
There are two SP I would like to see. I would like us to deal Contreras. I know he has been great and with that said we can get as much value for him this off season. Also, we dont know how old Jose is so it will be good to part ways with 2 more years in his contract. Secondly, I'd beg for KW to trade Vazquez. The last couple of games, Vaz has struck out a ton of but still ended up on the losing end. Vaz seems to find ways to lose and I think we should get rid of that kind of players in our team.

Im all for playing the kids Owens, Sweeney, Fields and Anderson all the way. Our vets seemed to have packed it a long time ago. Let's see what these kids have in store for us in the future.

QUOTE(blazewc77 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 10:02 AM) Do you guys think we can get possibly Michael young for Uribe and Freddy Garcia and maybe a minor leaguer? Who would you give up ? or anyone else in the starting rotation instead of Freddy? I think Michael Young is definitely on the sox' radar especially how Ozzie show how much he like Young during the ASB. If we can get it done with Vazquez, I'll trade Javier right away.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Sep 18, 2006 -> 10:59 PM) Young and Anderson patrolling LF/CF for the next 10 years. Dont worry we got Vazquez . KW got greedy this year but unfortunately it didnt pan out.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 06:08 PM) At least now I don't have to really worry about this team any more, and can spend more time watching football and paying attention to NBA Training Camp. And I just bought a car! Whoopee, I'm free from paying attention to the White Sox for the year! This season is ovaaahhhh!!! I dont want the Sox to keep hanging until Oct because I know they will break our hearts anyway. This time we are really choking. Time to look forward to our future. Let's see how Sweeney, Fields and Owens play.
-
Season over, this Sox choker is for real this time.
-
This game symbolizes what our season has been and what the rest of the season will be. Good bye playoffs!
-
Game ball. We cant hit Nathan. Santana tom, it doesnt look good.
-
The way we are playing, it looks like we wont make it. Im looking forward to seeing Sweeney, Owens, Fields, Stewart and see what they can do.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 09:50 PM) Story of our/their lives. We blow another one, our opponents don't, and we fall behind, again. Good luck Sox, I'm heading out. I don't want to watch the 9th. Easily, the AL MVP. No matter what happens the rest of the year. 9th inning, Rivera = win for the Yanks. We just find a way to lose each games. Everyday we find to lose games, a lot different than last year. People at the Cell need to show their angst after dropping another one in our home field.

QUOTE(Chopper2Hopper @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 04:18 PM) Pablo at 3rd????????? Im here at work, any updates? -
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 10:06 PM) Get his bat going? This month he's had the 2nd best average out of our regular starting 9, with a .322 Average in July. I meant was to keep him hitting instead of sitting him. Benching Brian will only affect his hitting. Just play him everyday, he is young and sure would not want tje frequent rest.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 10:10 PM) They mentioned his previous success with Sandy. Didn't he have a lot of success with AJP behind the plate last year? Seems like a lot of excuses for Mark's problems. Tipping pitches, lights in the OF, and now this. The sox should stop sugar coating for these guys even for Buerhle. Mark has not pitch the way he is capable and that's the story. We need to stop giving Dusty Baker like excuses.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 09:50 PM) . It seems every ball that falls in Center Field when Mack is in there costs us 2x as much as every hit that Mack gets helps us. Today, prime example. One hit from Mack, but the 2 balls that fell in CF that Anderson would have had easily wound up costing at least 1 run. I honestly am hoping Mack will go into a slump soon just so he stops getting playing time out there. I agree with you there, Anderson have the best chance to catch the balls in CF today. I cant understand why Ozzie keeps putting Mack in CF, he cant play CF! Keep Brian playing regularly, maybe he can get consistent at bats and get his bat going. I dont understand why he has to sit against a tough righty anyway, when can he learn to hit them then. Besides I thought Ozzie preach about having confidence in his players. Is sitting him against tough righty giving confidence? Ozzie said Brian has not caused us to lose ball games with his defense but I think Mack in CF does so stop putting him out there.

Hey I am back on Soxtalk, and got a question...
bulokis replied to whitesoxownyou's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The guy I would want is Oliver Perez, he is struggling mightily and currently in the minors the last time I looked. Maybe Coop can bring him back to his old form. -
I dont know why we keep trotting Mack in center. I know we are not making moves but we need an OF in our bench.
-
Vazquez sets the tempo/momentum for this game. He always find a way to mess it up. I think Brandon can do much better than what Vazquez is giving us. Ozzie/Coop always says our bullpen is made to come in the 7th, 8th, 9th and our starters are expected to last 6+ innings. But everytime Javy The Fifth pitches the game plan is screwed already.
-
I dont mind having Coco patroling left or center.
-
QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 07:20 PM) I almost threw up when I heard that. I dont know why we dont shake this lineup by adding new people, trading our under achievers and get some young blood in here. Its not like last year that we are so worried about our chemistry.
-
QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 10:06 PM) this is getting frustrated instead of bunting camp, ozzie needs a smartball camp to get the team back We dont have team speed. We dont run anymore. Pods is not destructive anymore because he is not stealing bases. Other players dont run also like Dye, Gooch.
