  1. If the Sox end up with the 11th pick after today this will probably be the most disappointing season I've ever witnessed in my time as a fan.
  2. Shuck f***ed our #10 pick cut him immediately
  3. Wish Robin would put Avi in LF and TT in RF but sigh
  4. Chris Sale's ability and contract impacts every game of the season because if we didn't have him at the contract he is signed too we'd be looking at a guy like Shark getting 100mil to pitch every 5 games. Sale's contract lets us spend money on position players that having any other ace wouldn't allow.
  5. Why do the Mariners pick after us? Didn't we woop their ass this season?
  6. Avi isn't worth the 2mil he will make in arb. I really think he should be non tendered and would be astounded if some one offered him a major league contract.
  7. Sad with the amount of Sanchez we've been seeing over the final week and a half. You already know what he is, why not run Micah out there
  8. http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/news/article/152...r-for-white-sox Think they're trying to say something here?
  9. Sanchez has such a noodle of an arm. Can't believe people want to see him at SS
  10. Nice play by Saladino. Wouldn't mind seeing him at SS next year. His bat plays decent for the position as well.
  11. QUOTE (Saufley @ Sep 27, 2015 -> 12:38 PM) Am I wrong or didn't I hear about him being a mini Miggy when we got him? Maybe in looks only. What a depressing organization. A lot of people were really high on his tools. I remember Keith Law (who I normally don't agree with) said he would be a fringe ML starter due to lack of plate discipline
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 27, 2015 -> 10:20 AM) If he's gone, it's because the White Sox decide not to offer him arbitration. This would be a good decision
  13. Yankees announcers pretty much laughing at Garcia and how bad their scouting reporting says he is on defense. "Well they are pinch hitting him for the Right Fielder, but the detailed scouting reports says Avisail is on of the worst outfielders in baseball"
  14. Yankees announcers seem to have a bigger hard on for Trayce Thompson than Hawk does
  15. Q would definitely headline a lot of rotations and I think getting to see Sale every 5 days makes us take Q for granted a little bit. He would be a strong choice to build a rotation around and I'd say he he is a #1, but he doesn't really have the K potential to be an "Ace". Now I think there are very few "Aces" around baseball. Those guys that can K 3 in a row to get out of a bases loaded jam and pump their whole team up, guys that can throw 120 pitches and still hit 95+ on the gun and guys that you would bet on more often than not to end a losing streak. The Sale's and Kershaw's of the world are few and far between but that doesn't make Q a #2/3 starter. As for the question of the poll, I think Rodon will be an Ace, sooner rather than later too, and Fulmer should slot in as a strong #2 with good K numbers but I don't know if he is ever gonna be a 220+IP type of guy with his frame/delivery.
  16. Buxton and Pederson are the only ones that shouldn't be listed higher than Rodon that currently are. Still, both of those guys are incredibly talented and the fact that there is only 1 pitcher ahead of Rodon and that he is one of only 2 in the top 10 speaks for itself. Position players are always going to be more valued and there are 3 SS and 2 3B ahead of him (positions that are desperately in need of offense around the MLB right now). I have no issue with Rodon at 9 and only Thor ahead of him as a pitcher.
  17. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Sep 23, 2015 -> 12:47 PM) So Montas was bad today? Didn't get to watch the game. Just seemed to labor through the innings with a lot of long AB's, and the good hitters crushed him pretty hard.
  18. Honestly with the young pitching we seem to be developing, trading Sale is probably our best bet to contend anytime soon. Boston matches up well and I'd take a deal like Swihart, Betts, Bradley Jr., Yoan Moncada and Henry Owens. That's the only frustrating thing about the Sale trade ideas though, because his worth with the talent, age and contract makes him too valuable. Pretty sure Boston would laugh us off the phone for that offer but there will be people that think it's not enough for Sale.
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 23, 2015 -> 12:10 PM) Rodon gave up 7 ER in 3 innings twice(STL and Pitt) and 8 ER in 3 innings(Yankees) this season, he hasnt been nails all season He was pretty inconsistent early but his past 7 starts have been damn impressive. 4-2, 6.88IP per start, 1.68 era, 45k/16bb
  20. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 23, 2015 -> 12:05 PM) I do not remember Rodon giving up 13 er in 2 innings to be honest. Yeah Rodon's worst start was 3.0IP/8ER against the Yankees
  21. I think Thompson honestly has better tools than Avi and a much more compact and smooth swing. Another glaring difference between them, even in Trayce's short time with the club, is their discipline and pitch recognition. Trayce has been set up a few times with high heat and then a slider in the dirt, but there has been times that he has laid off nicely. He seems to work the count and doesn't mind walking. Avi all season has been going up hacking on the first pitch and usually missing it. I don't think I've ever seen some one with as many ugly K's in 1 season as him and Adam Dunn was on this team for quite awhile.
  22. Micah has pretty outstanding minor league numbers and only 114 MLB plate appearances. He has value to a team that values offense over defense and while he may not be a centerpiece to a deal he could very well be a piece to add to maybe a Quintana trade to net us a 3b.
  23. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 23, 2015 -> 11:30 AM) So Montas has one bad inning and now you want to give up on him as a starter? It's been clear that he's a big project and an unfinished product for a while now. Still too early to make that call. This board can be so reactionary at times. Unless he can pull a 3rd pitch out of his ass, a good one at that, he doesn't look like a starter. He could probably live out of the bullpen successfully right now but once guys see 95-98 and his slider once it gets easier to hit the second time around. If he picked up a splitter or a change or even worked on a cutter he would be fine, but unless he gets another plus pitch he looks like a good set up guy, not a starter.
