Rangers “Surveying” Rival Clubs On Prince Fielder
Knackattack replied to BlackSox13's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If they could move LaRoche and Melky then they would have room for him but I don't see Texas taking either of those guys. Prince Fielder would be way better than LaRoche at DH but too much stuff would have to happen for it to be realistic -
QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 01:17 PM) After that Angels tweet, another one that they are talking about moving calhoun to RF for Heyward. Heyward Trout Calhoun....yiiikes Why do they want to play Heyward in left?

QUOTE (Sox Fan In Husker Land @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 01:10 PM) I would love me some Alex Gordon on this team. In that scenario would who is the RF? Eaton, with Thompson in CF? That'd be best but the Sox would probably keep Eaton in CF hoping he can get back to how he was in 2014 and have him flanked by 2 elite defenders.

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 01:02 PM) As long as we weren't giving gordon his last contract ever, I'd be happy to. Would love if we could pay him a 2 year 50 mill contract instead of paying later years. Not sure he'd take that. I'd be comfortable offering him 4/80. He was a 6+ WAR player twice and was in 2014. I think with his defense and bat he profiles to stay pretty decent over the years 32-36, He has always been an OBP guy and he K's at a league average rate. He has carried great defense and is in good shape. I think a 4 year deal for him is a safe bet to produce 12-15 WAR over the life of the contract.

I kind of wish we would go for Alex Gordon

I just wish that LaRoche and Avi would disappear.

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 12:33 PM) Article says Padres might be closer to getting him http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/white-sox/...hite-soxs-radar I could see the West Coast being a bigger pull since there is a larger Asian population... but who really wants to play for the Padres right now? Yuck.

Teams are targeting SS Tim Anderson, #White Sox's No. 1 prospect,
Knackattack replied to Whisox05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 10:17 AM) Arenado hit more home runs on the road than at home in 2015. He also had a sub .300 obp on the road. His OPS was still good at .835 but it was .960 at Coors. I'm not trading my whole system for a guy that isn't a premium bat outside of Coors. -
QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 10:14 AM) There would be more than just Rodon. If it was only Rodon I'd pack his bags and drive him to O'Hare right now. I'm pretty sure Rodon has a s***load of value right now after that rookie year in the AL. I would offer Rodon, Montas & Danish if I had to make a deal.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 10:07 AM) If you had the last say, would you trade those 4 guys for Arenado? I probably wouldn't. Nope. Arenado is really good for Colorado and I like that he is a strong defender, but I don't think his bat would be superstar level outside of Coors and if I'm dropping those 4 guys, 3 of which might be in the top 100 prospects overall, I need a superstar. -
QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 10:11 AM) There's NO way the Sox land him without including Rodon and probably Quintana. The Dodgers have a top 3 farm system in baseball and there's talks that it would take their 3 best prospects to get it done. Lmfao Rodon and Quintana? Rodon + Anderson + Fulmer + Montas is probably what they would want and I'd rather just keep Rodon and his clean bill of health.

If I was trading with the White Sox, Anderson, Montas, Adams and Fulmer would be all I really wanted. So no surprise here. -
QUOTE (scs787 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 09:50 AM) https://youtu.be/mmipMRsJW88 6minute video of home runs, and a view good looks at his swing. A lot of the HRs look cheap, but I am a fan. Sign me up. This dude has some nice bat speed

I think they are desperately trying to get a team on the field that can draw fans and while we have a bunch of good, young, defensive minded players, none of them can hit. They could run Saladino & Sanchez up the middle and get incredible defense with a total of like a .220/.275/.350 line from them both and the fans would call for their heads or they could run out some one like an Asdrubal Cabrera at 2nd with Sally at SS and at least get some sort of offense.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 7, 2015 -> 10:03 AM) Upton is nowhere near the power hitter that Adam Dunn was, though. I mean he has averaged 27 homers and 30 doubles the past 3 years, he is about as good a power hitter as you're going to find these days if you want any type of average to go with it.
-
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 7, 2015 -> 06:54 AM) So the Dodgers will not be acquiring Sale either obviously with Seager off limits. I think Sale should be more valuable than Fernandez.. that guy can't stay healthy and Sale has been doing it at a high level for a longer time in the more difficult AL
-
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 09:35 PM) Cespedes would be a much better option due to defensive value and lack of pick compensation, but for those reasons he will come at a higher price as well. I could see 6/$150 for him, honestly. I think both guys will get more, honestly. Upton probably something like 6/140 and Cespedes like 7/180

So GreenSox is a confirmed troll right? Only explanation for some of these comments
-
Upton is a good player and would be a fine addition to the team but not for the draft pick we will lose and the contract he will get. Also, if we sign 2 QO players, do we lose our comp pick and 2nd rounder, or 2nd and 3rd rounders?

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 06:32 PM) If the conversation starts with Rodon, then I pray to god that Hahn is smart enough to hang up the phone. Rodon is going to be a star in this league and I would cry if Hahn traded him for 2 years of a Todd Frazier. I agree 100%, but they need to get value for him and if it doesn't present itself they can hope he posts another .990 OPS in the 1st half then trade him for a haul come July when some team is 1 player away from a playoff push
-
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 06:27 PM) Last I read Cinci was asking for MLB ready talent in return for Frazier. Do the Sox have enough of that to trade for Frazier? I could see them being interested in Thompson but who else? I mean lets say Fulmer and Anderson are off limits... You gotta hope at that point that Montas is a good enough starting point and then let them take their pick of everyone else, but I have a feeling that the Reds are going to make some one pay something crazy for him, they are trying to rebuild that Franchise and Frazier is their best chip, if I'm them the conversation starts with Rodon.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 06:25 PM) They said it on MLB Network. Cool. I'd be happy because it would effectively remove Avi from the team but I wonder what contract Upton would warrant.
-
QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 06:16 PM) Bob Nightengale predicted the Sox sign Upton. Is there a link to this or did he just say it on the radio or something?

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 06:00 PM) I'm assuming that Thompson would play against the lefties and Parra/LaRoche would play against the righties. Correct me if I'm wrong. Yeah Trayce will play RF for Parra and then just take LaRoche's ab's from the DH position. Just gotta make sure you ensure he won't ever have to come up to hit if he is on base, have fun with that Robin!
