QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 11, 2012 -> 09:46 AM) I'm sure KW will inquire about him, and I'm sure the price will start at either Viciedo or Reed. If Reed is the centerpiece they ask for in a Wright deal then I think you definitely go for it.

His player comparison was Matt kemp... Not bad -
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 10:22 AM) Eh, I disagree. From what I remember of The Bridge in the IF, he wasn't too comfortable. He is so good in the OF, that I would rather Escobar just be in backup IF, especially at SS. He was drafted as an IF and came up as one in the minors. SS was supposed to be his strongest position

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 02:36 PM) For those who are saying trade Thornton and Floyd, what time of return do you have to have to make a deal? Nothing jaw dropping. If it was to the BoSox I'd say something like Brandon Jacobs/Bryce Bentz, Anthony Workman and Stoly Pimentel. I think Bentz is closer to the bigs, but Jacobs has better potential, workman should be a decent innings eater in the majors and Pimentel has hit 97 with the fastball, but is still very raw.

It excites me that his agent is Torres

I feel like we should move more pieces now, such as Gavin or Matt, but only if the return is good. If Gavin doesn't draw interest, let him be coveted at the deadline. I'd also like to add at least one f the Cubans.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 11, 2011 -> 02:23 PM) I'm not sure how I feel about the Sox being so trade friendly w/ the Blue Jays. One 1 hand you have a team with a GREAT farm system and tons of good prospects to trade, and on the other hand you are dealing with AA who is a damn smart guy and has done pretty well in almost every trade he has made. So when I see the Sox and Jays are discussing a trade, I have to be cautiously optimistic. Kenny has always tried to be the guy that plays it fair with his GM buddies though, if not be the swindler. The only trades he really lost on hardcore would be Swisher and maybe Javy, but other than that he struck gold with Danks, Q and Gavin. I do trust KW to put a good product out there simply because he has done it before, they're giving him help with the prospects which is what he needed lol.

If the Sox are really committing to a rebuild, then it's way too early to say whether or not we are winners or losers. The way it is looking is like we are trusting Kenny to bring us back in the next 3 years. If Molina even ends up pitching 200 innings for us a few times it is probably a win, SP are more valuable than closers, obviously, and we have more options than Sergio. Value wise I actually do think Kenny did well, but until we see results there is no true answer.

If Peavy pitches well he is going to get traded midseason unless Dunn, Rios and Beckham turn around as well.

Rios. f*** that guy.

Tonight's loss may lead Williams to start trading players

Last I read from Williams was him saying they probably weren't gonna do anything. -
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 01:07 PM) Danks/Thornton/Quentin for Holland still won't get it done. Unless they could agree to a contract extension with Danks, but why do that when they control Holland cheaply for 4 more years? Doesn't make any sense from a financial standpoint for the Rangers. I'm gonna go ahead and believe the reporters that say Danks/Matt would get it done rather than your silly opinion that it would take Quentin too, lol.

You guys remember how "rebuilding on the fly" got us Danks, Gavin and Q!? When Kenny goes after these players he is usually right. I'm sorry but regardless of how good he is, an expensive LH reliever and a propsect or a rental starting pitcher and a prospect (not named viciedo in either case) is absolutely highway robbery for Colby Rasmus is he comes anywhere near his potential. And even if he burns out it is still the type of trade you can't be mad with because of the immense possible reward. LH power hitting speedy Cf'er? Yes please.
-
I find it kind of disgusting that people are saying bench Lilli for f***ing up one play after all of the runs he has saved with his glove this year. Also if the Bridge can continue to hit and field CF well, it opens up leadoff for him and LF for Viciedo.
-
They just need to get over .500. That's all I want out of this team and that has to be mentally lifting for the players.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 10:26 AM) Teahen was hitting sub-.200 at Charlotte. I'm guessing that all they cared about in AAA was if he was healthy enough to play, not the statistics he put up.

They gonna finish this or are the Sox gonna have to replay?

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ May 23, 2011 -> 05:24 PM) Really dude? I'm pretty sure the average female fastpitch/softpitch/housewife player would have more power than Juan Pierre. -

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 23, 2011 -> 05:17 PM) I know I am late to the party, but I f***ING HATE JUAN PIERRE. We accept hating Juan Pierre at all times. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 19, 2011 -> 06:11 PM) The Yankees wouldn't part with montero for Greinke last winter and they needed pitching more then Yeah, but teams are more inclined to give up a little more when they think a player could be the piece that they need to win that year. If the Yanks think they're a John Danks away from the World Series, and other teams are interested in him (Boston), they could be talked into giving up better pieces.
