  1. This would be great. Wish it would end this week!
  2. I hated it for fantasy. My big league I do every year requires you to set your lineup for the week, so 10 days screws you over because you need to really know the status of the player or risk losing out on production.
  3. It really got abused. Glad it's going back to 15 days.
  4. Ironic though... *cough, cough* Russell *cough, cough* Osuna *cough, cough*
  5. I never believed the leaked offer to begin with. The article comes off to me as guesswork by the writer.
  6. Don’t believe it. I do think anyone but the Sox FO and Manny’s camp know the actual numbers. That article just takes Nightengale’s report and runs with it.
  7. Hahahaha, no fucking way he's getting $36.5 AAV
  8. Has there ever been a surprise press conference to announce a FA of Manny's talent level? Seems unlikely. They'd make an announcement first.
  9. Look at the contract that Yusei Kikuchi signed with the Mariners. Link
  10. My thoughts exactly!
  11. I think it should be implemented for pitchers that start games at the very least. I'm not crazy about it for the later innings unless they expand rosters to 26. You would almost have to carry an extra pitcher because I think it could be an issue for some guys durability over the course of a season.
  12. Link I saw it in a tweet earlier, but I found it also in a Ben Lindberg article of The Ringer/Effectively Wild podcast. Looks like it’s a article from the middle of the year, so it could be even worse than that.
  13. Some really odd takes by these guys that I didn’t agree with. I got the impression they really don’t have much knowledge about the Sox. Clint’s knowledge was leaps and bounds ahead of them.
  14. Universal DH makes too much sense. In over 1900 plate appearances, pitchers had a combined .115/.146/.150 slash line - good for a -23 wRC+. That is absolutely insane. There is no way that is good for the game of the game.
  15. Also doubled down on the Machado offer being $175-200M. I can’t see this being the case. That is such a lowball offer for someone of Machado’s caliber. He will absolutely opt out first chance he gets if that’s the case.
  16. Definitely. Seems like the yearly ST invite guaranteed a roster spot due to 40-man constraints. It'll be curious to see what happens if the Sox do actually go out and land Pederson.
  17. I think restricted free agents for players in years 4-6 would work. Similar to the way hockey does it:
  18. Seems like a foolish move for the Yankees handcuff themselves to a guy in Cueto's position with the amount of FA starting options next offseason.
  19. Looking at his stats, this guy seems like he has a future in the bullpen. His highest IP total is 114 back in 2015. Sox could do better instead of trading for a buy-low candidate.
  20. I know, that's what I'm saying. Arenado settling at $26M that pretty much sets the bar for Machado's AAV. Hopefully it causes some movement in the right direction.
  21. Just a random thought, and maybe it's been mentioned before, but what if Machado was waiting for Arenado's arb deal to be announced? Seems like a really good number to counter teams with in negotiations.
  22. But it it’s to send another bad contract the other way I don’t see how they would be helping them. Where does a guy like Cueto fit on the Yankees? Their rotation is set.
