  1. Oh it's moments like these I am happy my name is not Hector Gomez...
  2. I thought they put him in RF last year when in Schaumburg.
  3. Sox might have a decent chance considering Folty is from Sterling. Idk if he still lives in Illinois, but being close to family during a pandemic might be something he values?
  4. I'd think it would be Ruiz, since we've all seen time and time again what he offers. I'm honestly surprised Zavala has held on for this long too.
  5. Well, this proposal is a win-win if you ask me. Owners get their expanded playoffs. Players play less games without a decrease in pay and DH, fans have more of a chance to go to games since the season is pushed back. We'll have to agree to disagree on this.
  6. Without the owners, we get nothing too. I get you are very anti-ownership, but aligning yourself to one side without compromise is not how the business world works.
  7. Expanded playoffs is going to happen. It will be a part of this game in the future on a regular basis either due to situations like this, or expansion down the road. To refuse any proposal that includes it is incredibly short-sighted. I'm not crazy about it, but I think it could work with some more creativity. Compare this proposal to the ones we saw last season, and tell me how this one isn't the most beneficial to both sides. This is setting the players up to come off as incredibly greedy if their main goal is prevent the owners from getting more money. This offseason is a direct result of no fans last year, and it hurt the game. People need to start thinking about how this pandemic is affecting the future of baseball. Baseball is a business, if there wasn't money to be made in it, no one would have interest to see it continue.
  8. Personally, I think the Players Union would be idiots to not agree to this. Same pay for less games and they get the DH for all 30 teams. There’s no way MLB gets through 162 games. Just look at the NHL and NBA.
  9. I kind of hope this happens only to see the meltdown that will happen on White Sox Twitter.
  10. I generally think these guys are full of shit, but I hope it's true. More depth the better.
  11. I think it's far more likely Rodon is Plan D, rather than them always thinking he'd be back. I think they overplayed the market a bit with Q, Richards, and Wainwright. He honestly probably has the highest upside for the remaining guys in the $3M range.
  12. Wouldn't be surprised if the Cubs were the only ones offering one.
  13. We all know Cease is guaranteed a spot, so really this is Lopez vs Rodon. I’m fine with that. Two year ago both these guys were in the rotation as the 1 and 3. Hopefully they bring in another guy for more competition.
  14. Them bringing him back really does give me the impression that they felt Cooper was holding back a lot of their arms from reaching their full potential. I don’t mind Rodon, but I do hope it’s a minor league deal.
  15. I never saw a great fit for the Sox and Rosario. We know the Sox aren't moving Eloy to DH and believe he will be a passible LF'er. We know they almost called up Vaughn at the end of last season and obviously view him as having a role at DH for this upcoming season. That literally leaves Rosario for RF, which if anyone has bothered looking at his stats on FanGraphs, the guy is an absolute butcher in LF, let alone RF. I want the Sox to continue to add for depth, but I don't see this as being the right one.
  16. Don’t care. This guy is incredibly overhyped by this fanbase. If he was such a great hitter, more teams would have been in on him.
  17. It’s entirely tied to his batting average though. He’s aggressive and doesn’t walk. The fact that he has a pretty mediocre to below average exit velo on his hits (which are all singles) makes me pause to label him as a impact bat for the lineup. He’s a tough out, don’t get me wrong, but I get the impression teams will figure out how to position against him. If he never develops power, he’s a slap hitter. I’d rather have that type of hitter near the bottom for when the lineup turns over and the guys who can actually drive the ball are due up. He has a high floor due to his contact abilities, but I don’t see this prolific hitter I would rather have batting over anyone of the young guys currently on the team or projected to be in the lineup for the next few years.
  18. I know, I'm still saying I wouldn't. I don't think his ceiling is that high as a hitter.
  19. IDK, I'm not entirely sure. I'd argue that Anderson is a better leadoff hitter than he is, and he doesn't strike me a the typical #2 hole hitter with his lack of walks. If he never develops power, I don't think we ever see him at the top of the order. Anderson (R) Moncada (S) Abreu (R) Jimenez (R) Grandal (S) Robert (R) Vaughn (R) Eaton (L) Madrigal (R) If everyone hits their potential, I think that's the lineup you roll with.
  20. I have no issue with this. I’d rather have a guy set high expectations for himself than none at all. But there’s no way he’s getting there batting 9th.
  21. Does it matter if it’s a strike or a lockout? Either way there is no baseball, which is where I believe this sport is headed for the 2022 season. Nowhere did I mention 2021.
  22. I think it just reinforces the supposed divide in the FO. Hahn clearly wasn’t happy with the LaRussa hire. Perhaps the Cruz/Wainright rumors stemmed on the Hahn/KW side of things and Jerry quickly shot it down.
