I don’t think this has any chance to be true. He straight up hired his best friend to manage the team. You don’t convince LaRussa out of retirement unless you think you have a chance to win it all. I’m hoping this is Jerry’s swan song. However long LaRussa is with the team (3 years?) then he’s done with this franchise. So we have this season, and 2023 to win it all. I didn’t include 2022, because Jerry will be busy ensuring there is a strike.

Of course. Same old song and dance out of JR's playbook. Finish 2nd place. -

Prepare for disappointment then. They are done. We'll get a few has been bust outs for ST and Charlotte, but that's it. -

I really with they’d just offer a 1 year deal with a high AAV. Make the Twins beat it with a 2 year deal. I know it isn’t going to happen, but dammit he might be the only thing left on the market that can significantly upgrade this team. -

Fegan Nuggets: Collins, Sheets, Burdi, Lambert
CWSpalehoseCWS replied to bmags's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It’s thin from the point of impact players. They have plenty of guys that could/should reach the majors, but there really isn’t anyone with the same level projection or expectations as a Kopech, Vaughn, Kelley type of player. It’s a whole lot of role players, which absolutely has its value, but you need to have some high risk/reward guys too, and this system lacks that at the lower levels. It’s why the Padres were able to make all those trades and the Sox can’t find any takers without giving up players in their top 5 ranking. -
Believe what you want, but Madrigal absolutely has been offered in trade packages. And no, I’m not referring to the foodies as the sources for this. He’s the most replaceable MLB ready asset this team has at the moment, and the market has/had decent options for 2B as a replacement. People need to stop falling in love with ever prospect that comes through the system.

It's about building depth. It what makes a good team GREAT. The Dodgers are pros at it. The Yankees do it. The Padres are doing it this year. The Sox can't help but not understand this concept. -
I think we'll be lucky to get either at this point. JR has locked up the vault for the offseason.

Adam Eaton is petitioning he bring his dog Josie as the clubhouse leader for 2021. -
I honestly thought Madrigal would have been moved and La Stella was going to be the 2B. Really hope the Sox didn't shoot themselves in the foot with the lack of movement since the Hendriks deal.

Always been a fan of Lambert. I wonder if they will have him start in Charlotte or stay in the pen. -

Here’s hoping Cruz is an exception to the Sox budget. I think I’d be more happy screwing the Twins over than the potential Cruz adds to the Sox lineup. -

Little bit of a different tune tonight. Wanting someone to play for a team is a bit different than telling the fanbase to be on the lookout. -

Dude, look at his monthly stats. Dye plummeted. His amazing 1st half saved his 2009 stat line. I’m not saying it’s a reason to choose to not sign Cruz, but it totally is not out of the realm of possibility. Adding him totally makes the team better on paper. -

While this is true, I can’t help but recall Jermaine Dye and how his final year ended. He completely fell off a cliff in the second half. There’s no way to know for sure, but it can happen to anyone. Same goes for Cruz. -

Chances are you’ve already rooted for a PED user and have no idea. It’s more widespread than anyone cares to realize. For example, do you like Pablo Ozuna? Should the 2005 season be disregarded? -
His dog is named Josie, not his daughter, hahahah
