  1. I don’t think it would be. At some point you most likely either skip a guy or push someone to 6 days rest. Lots of these guys like a set regiment. I wouldn’t mess with potentially 4 guys routines to make one guy happy. He might be convinced it makes him better, but I don’t think it’s worth experimenting with if it throws the rest of the team out of whack.
  2. Hopefully we see some movement in this front this week. Wishful thinking that he used this weekend to weigh his options/offers and will make a decision.
  3. Not sure if anyone saw his latest YouTube video, but he does a rundown of the things most important to him. Everything sounded good until he got to one. Pitching every 4 days. He wants the team he signs with to have a serious discussion about doing just that. I’m sorry, but that’s ridiculous. Imagine trying to plan out a rotation with one guy going every 4 days. He gives a bunch of options of how he thinks it would work, but it seems incredibly counter productive to put one guy’s regimen over the rest of the team. What a mess. Maybe a team like the Rays would do that, but you’re not going to find a competitive team willing to run that over the course of 162 game season.
  4. Despite all the reports, I still think it’s the Mets. Phillies cried poor earlier this offseason. They can’t absorbs that contract and the Cubs aren’t going to have money coming back.
  5. Unless he tells you outright, "not interested," there is literally no reason to suddenly walk away. The mutual interest is there. He met with the Jays earlier in the week. He's probably finishing up his visits or getting in the final team pitches. He only gets this contract once, I don't blame the guy for taking his time.
  6. Sheets and Mercedes do not have the trade value you think they do. You would need to trade top assists for a young, cheap, pitcher like Burnes. I don’t even think Cease + Madrigal gets them to listen.
  7. On paper, yeah, I’d think so. That’s a killer rotation. Depends on what the Yankees do too. They have some big holes to fill as well and I don’t think they will stand pat.
  8. I've heard this before. Forget where, I want to say Jimmy - but I'm not sure.
  9. Aren't the Dodgers really close to the Luxury Tax? I'd imagine they need to move salary somehow.
  10. Love to hear it. Hope it pushes him to the Sox.
  11. It’s so odd how these two accounts became BFF’s overnight. I really want to know who’s behind this account. It’s legitimately the only random, non-verified account that company follows.
  12. This. Makes a lot of sense with the Astros and Dodgers interest floated out there the Sox counter with Hand interest. Hopefully we know where he’s pitching in the next few days.
  13. If they land Hendriks, I think so too. I feel like it'll come via trade too. I don't see them being able to get anyone worth a damn to come to this team with such uncertainty in the rotation unless we want to see the likes of another Gio Gonzalez type signing.
  14. Agreed. It's a super weird coincidence, if anything.
  15. I didn't either. They have Jansen. Yeah, he's showing signs of declining, but I doubt the Dodgers would push him immediately out of that role. Hendriks wants to be a closer. He isn't going to go somewhere in a timeshare.
  16. I know, I know, the sandwich guy... More interested in the tweet he quoted. I guess there's two different ways to look at his response. Either the Sox are one of the teams (abandoning their pursuit of Hendriks), or the Dodgers bring him back (possibly ending their interest in Hendriks).
  17. This is funny. Obviously a joke towards the Machado crap from a few years ago.
  18. Someone should tell him Ontario has a ban on Pit Bulls. He's a supporter of the Players for Pits foundation. Think of the dogs, Liam!
  19. Do we know for sure the Canadian government will even allow the Jays to play at home this upcoming season? Not like much has changed here. In fact, it's much worse that it was back in July/August.
  20. Are you aware of the incredibly high bust rate of high school arms taken in the draft? The Sox will be lucky if 1 out of that group sees the majors.
  21. I honestly didn't think too much of it. Guy was probably salty for being left off the playoff roster, he had a bad year, and the Yankees weren't a good fit for him. Lots of stuff that could cause a guy to be unhappy with his experience there and lead to those comments. We've seen that on the Sox too over the years. A few months later he said this:
  22. Here's what he claims, but the data doesn't really match: https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/sonny-gray-rips-yankees-for-forcing-him-to-throw-the-wrong-breaking-ball-but-the-stats-disagree/ He also admitted later that year NY wasn't a good fit for him.
  23. The have the opening at 2B too. Certainly would be one hell of a lineup.
  24. That's very true, but Grandal is historically better against lefties for his career. I'm going on the assumption there won't be a legitimate DH option, and it will be utilized more as a way to keep guys fresh.
