Jose Abreu wins 2020 AL MVP and Hank Aaron Award
Well deserved. Couldn't happen to a better Sox player.

Sox hire Ethan Katz per WSD
That’s fine. If they aren’t, I look forward to seeing what he does with them. A new set of outside eyes is exactly what this team needs for their young pitchers that failed to make the jump under Coop.

Sox hire Ethan Katz per WSD
Love this hire. He’s a fantastic 1B consolation prize after not getting Fetter. Really excited to see what he can do with Lopez, Cease, and Kopech.

Offseason Targets
Not even. Polanco is 29. At least Mazara has the slightest potential to have a good year or two in his future at 25.

Offseason Targets
I stopped following the guy. This theoretically is plausible, but I don't buy it coming from a legitimate source. Sounds like fan-fiction of some of the rumored Lynn/Gallo deals that floated around in August.

Offseason Targets
He's been recovering from the dreaded Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. Wish the guy well and all, but this pretty much destroyed Matt Harvey's career. He's a hard pass for me. Take a chance on another guy, there's plenty out there.

Buncho Roster Moves: Edwin & GIO gone, Leury Back, others
I'm very concerned LaRussa will have too much of JR's ear when it comes to making moves. I'd almost expect someone to be moved from the young group, and if I had to guess, I'd say it's Cease. He was already nearly moved last offseason, and one of his biggest fans (Cooper) is no longer around. I'm fine with making moves when they make sense. I just really hope the Sox don't lose sight about SUSTAINED success over the next few years, and shy away from a Brewer's approach of blowing their load and prospect pool on 1 push.

Tony La Russa named Manager
I’m not expecting any outside hires. I’m fine with Zaleski, but the way this organization operates, I’m have zero faith the people they bring in are qualified.

Tony La Russa named Manager
Still no reactions from any Sox players that I've seen. That is extremely odd if you ask me.

Tony La Russa named Manager
I haven't see anything.

Is Ozuna the Answer in right field?
I have very little faith Ozuna can play an adequate RF. Ideally he's splitting time with Eloy at LF/DH, but I don't see that happening with Vaughn in the wings.

FS: White Sox interested in 16-year-old Cuban OF Luis Pino
This doesn't mean Bailey is bad. He's an extremely fundamentally sound ballplayer by everything I've read. The other guys just have higher ceilings, unless I'm misunderstanding how Jimmy is using the word 'better.' Theres still a decent chance all three bust out and become nothing.

Will the Front Office Fire Renteria?
Robin Ventura stuck around for 5 seasons. You can't get much more lame-duck than that.

Will the Front Office Fire Renteria?
Going with a hard no on this. The same FO that gave Ricky a secret extension that they refused to share the length of is enough for me to believe this is Ricky's ship for the foreseeable future. They aren't going to fire a manager that got to the playoffs after 7 straight losing seasons. We need to be realistic with how this team operates with the current FO and JR signing the checks.

Offseason Targets
Not sure I'd worry too much about Moncada. He even said he felt like he was better towards the end of the season. From everything I've read, it's just a waiting game. He's young enough he should be able to recover, and he has access to top notch medical personnel. I'd be far more worried about Kopech coming back and being able to contribute much of anything (assuming he even wants to come back).

Charlie Haeger wanted for murder, found dead of self-inflicted gunshot
Wow. What a terrible story.

Offseason Targets
Brantley would scare the hell out of me as one of those "one year too late" type guys. Similar to EE.

Crochet's arm fine
I read/heard that as well. Kind of confusing. If he was serious injured you think the kid would have known immediately? Holding out hope he's not going to need TJ, though it certainly seemed like it's the most likely scenario.

Guess the pitcher we add in the offseason
Going with Stroman. He fits well at GRF. Bauer is going to be too expensive and I would be shocked if Jerry would even being willing to put up with his antics.

Wild Card playoff thread Sox at A's Game 2- First Pitch at 2 PM CT
I hope Eloy can DH tomorrow. I'd also stick with Engel and Garcia in the corners. I don't trust Mazara enough to be productive against the AL September pitcher of the month. Bassitt has been dirty this past month let alone the year. I feel like this will be a much harder game to win than I think any of us realize.

Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
Robert is also a great CF. Why break something that isn't broke? He's currently ranked 2nd in DRS for all qualified CF behind Kiermaier. Robert is not a problem, and should not be moved from CF until he is in his 30's and loses a step. The Sox can go out and get a RF.

Eloy might not be ready for first playoff series
JFC. It's like everything that can go wrong is going wrong for this final week.

Garrett Crochet Called Up
Very interesting move. If he can come in an immediately make an impact like Foster and Heuer have then this bullpen should be very legit, especially if Bummer can return. I know we generally view him as a starter for the long term, but he could be the Sox version of Hader and give them long, shutdown relief.

Stone's Throwing of Shade at Ricky
The comment towards Mazara was someone said Mazara is due tonight, and Stone replied that he's been due for weeks now. I can't find the actual tweet, but that's pretty much what was said.

You have to start McCann for now
No, I haven't watched a single game. How did you know? I'll gladly die on the hill that Grandal is a better catcher. I like both of them, but gun to my head, I'm taking Grandal 10/10 times over McCann. Track record speaks for itself. If you don't want to agree or see that logic, that's your prerogative.
