  1. Signing Keuchel is something I’d be fine with. He’s not a sexy signing, but he solidifies the back end of the rotation. Sox need a vet that can help mentor their young starters, and Keuchel is one of the pitchers that helped unlock Cole’s potential on the Astros.
  2. Got a thread on this already, you can still access the site if you change your safari settings when on the site. LINK
  3. It's really unfortunate that Burdi, Dunning, Lambert, Burger, Adolfo, and Basabe were all either hurt for most of the season or completely out of commission. That's a lot of potential trade chips that are unproven and all coming off injuries. Leaves such a select few amount of resources to work with via trades.
  4. Well... I mean this changes everything! /sarcasm
  5. Wheeler absolutely has risk. But I’d bet more on the 33 year old with husky build having more issues in the near future.
  6. Ryu has much more risk than Wheeler IMO.
  7. As a professional athlete, I’m sure he is used to his fair share of criticism regardless of where it comes from. These guys have been dealing with haters their whole professional career. Personally, I don’t get why you’d want to go out of your way and personally attack a player directly, but some people find the need to do so, especially on Twitter as it gives those keyboard warriors a platform. Delmonico has been incredibly meh for the Sox, but I totally like the guy as I’ve met him in the past. He’s extremely nice, just sucks at baseball at the major league level.
  8. And next offseason they will come up with some other bullshit that they can’t spend money because Gio and Moncada will need to be retained and they need the space to prepare for that. Jerry absolutely knows what he is doing.
  9. Seems like the Mets are out. Seeing some tweets that the Phillies are close.
  10. Knowing the Sox (if they are even bothering) they will offer a ridiculous incentive laden deal.
  11. I didn't realize they have that much money coming off the books, so that probably means they will keep him. If for some reason he was available, I would hope the Sox are all over him.
  12. I'd be happy with (in order): Stroman Ray Paxton
  13. C'mon, he isn't going to throw Covey under the bus. He knows same as everyone else that Covey is a dumpster fire option for the rotation. Probably trying to be nice to his son's co-worker.
  14. Man, that's just sad. I don't think the Sox are at all in on him. If they were and Rosenthal heard something, he wouldn't have forgotten to add them in 4 minutes after his first tweet.
  15. It would be funny if he did sign here still. I bet both would claim they had it first.
  16. Clase is a much better option/prospect than Victor Diaz. Diaz only threw really hard. Clase has unreal movement on his pitches. There's a lot to like from him. Is it enough to make him the centerpiece for Kluber? Most likely no.
  17. I think you could apply this to all front offices in some manner. We're just so used to seeing it for so long with the same people in place. Is being cocky better or worse than being indecisive? Both probably have their positives and negatives.
  18. This right here. I am much more upset with the Sox that they seemingly had zero Plan B and instead are moving their "contention window" back a year because of it. If your rebuild is centered around 1 player, your rebuild is probably doomed to fail. I don't fault Wheeler for going to Philly. He had his reasons - which NONE of us know with 100% certainty. Acting like more money was the deal breaker is blind to other factors. He very well may have preferred Phillies playoff odds to the Sox. NL vs. AL. East Coast vs. Central U.S. Vicinity to his future wife's family. We simply don't know for sure. The Sox lack of urgency to move on to the next best option is much more worrisome to me than their 2nd place finish.
