Sox call up Luis Gonzalez
One thing possibly worth mentioning, Gonzalez actually has reverse splits and has hit lefties better than righties for his career splits. Granted, we're talking about only 306 AB's, but he might actually be a better option against some lefties than Mazara.

Sox call up Luis Gonzalez
He got off to a horrid start and turned it around at the middle to back end of 2019. Check out his monthly splits, he was at or over .700 for the final 3 months.

Sox call up Luis Gonzalez
No, the extra spot is due to the double header. That’s why Flores was sent back down after those games. Someone needs to be DFA or sent down.

Sox might not be aggressive in trading
I'd bring back Mazara, and sign Pederson to replace EE. Use DH for Eloy, Mazara, Pederson. If Mazara sucks you can always get rid of him when Vaughn is ready.

Madrigal to the IL/Delmonico Optioned
I personally like Collins, but I'm sure he's the next guy on that will be painted as the whipping boy of this fan base.

Madrigal to the IL/Delmonico Optioned
Now that Delmonico is gone, what will people b**** about? *Zack Collins immediately hides in his locker*

8/5 Sox vs Brewers GT
He might be one of my least favorite Sox players ever. The shit he pulled last year was criminal.

8/5 Sox vs Brewers GT
Even with EE and Madrigal out, this honestly isn't that bad of a lineup.

Madrigal leaves with injured shoulder - separated - out a month
Definitely could have been a way worse of an outcome.

Narvaez is such a shit catcher.

I thought he jammed his wrist with the way it hit it. Hopefully it's not too serious.

ReyLo to start throwing program
Hopefully there aren't any setbacks here. Losing both Rodon and him would not be good.

Rodon to IL, Basabe DFA’d, Lail called up
Not necessarily. He hasn't shown much if any success at the Double-A level. He would most likely be incredibly overmatched at the MLB level. Being out of options entering 2021 does not help his cause either. I'm going to go with this. Looking at his minor league stats, my guess would be the Sox simple don't see him ever being able to have enough success with the bat to be anything more than a weak-side platoon player or defensive replacement. He has a terrible .230 average against RHP the last 4 years with a 27% K rate, which really doesn't really make him all that different from what Engel currently provides. Luis Gonzalez would really be his only competition in the minors, and he has shown far greater success than Basabe. It's an off move since Delmonico is still here, but that'll be moot fairly soon once Anderson returns.

MLB COVID-19 outbreaks: None of as Sept 18
Florida is also a hot mess. I have a friend whose wife works for one of the hotels. There are many grubhub orders and girls constantly trying to be brought in against protocol. Probably just a matter of time before they have an issue as well.

MADRIGAL CALLED UP! (Herrera DFA)
Very surprised they cut ties with Herrera as soon as they did. I think we can thank Heuer for that. Excited to see what Nick can do tonight.

7/28 Sox/Indians Double Header thread
Whatever pitching plan the Sox came up with to get the starters ready clearly was ineffective. These guys look like week 1 of ST trying to go 5-6 innings.

Eloy left game with lightheadedness.
Hopefully the heat had more of an impact on how he felt out there. It was brutal outside under the sun.

Definitely possible, but even Driveline got a hold of him and it did nothing.

16 Team Playoffs in 2020 Agreed Upon
This is a good point. I'm not crazy about having half the damn league making the postseason, but if it makes the game more interesting, then I can get on board with it.

Road Sox @ Home Sox | 7.16.20 Intrasquad GameThread
I'm a big Lambert fan. I was surprised to see him already back and throwing. I don't know why, but I thought he went down late last year. I think he'll be a great option down the road in the bullpen. Possibly a swing guy, or multi-inning arm.

Sox Summer Camp Catch All Thread
He's not a FA, so he is still with the organization. We have no clue what this season holds, If someone goes down for the season or multiple guys get sick, he may still have a shot at being promoted to the pool of players as the season goes on.

Sox Summer Camp Catch All Thread
Pretty much. It's so incredibly odd and moronic how someone thought not listing a reason for a trip to the IL (when a reason is literally required for any other situation) somehow provides a player the proper privacy they are seeking while recovering. Hopefully they get well soon and don't have a rough case of it.

Rule 5 changed
It is a really dumb rule, especially because so many of these guys get "injured" and sit on the D.L. most of the year.
