So if he has an ERA of 10, with more walks than strikeouts he should make the team out of spring training? If Kopech does not look good or back to his normal self before he was hurt, he should be sent down to Charlotte to get right.
I actually feel like this might be the plan later in the year. Luery is going to get his AB's as a super-sub. Sox just need to bring in a solid middle IF (unless they are content with Mendick). Engel does not deserve taking anymore AB's away from anyone on this team.
I would be fine with that. It's not what we all expected, but it does still make the Sox a better team in the end. Would also kick the tires on Taijuan Walker.
You have to request the desktop version of the site to get it to work on your phone. FWIW, I've also noticed that on my Mac desktop, the site is much slower than it used to be.
I didn't see MadBum leaving the NL, so I'm not surprised with this or disappointed. Sox really need to do something though. They cannot allow Covey to see a major league mound in 2020.
I saw somewhere that Kluber gets a raise or something because he was traded, someone tweeted that CLE would be throwing in case to offset that. Kicking myself because I can't find it on my timeline now.
Plus he was the one case where the most money didn't matter. He stuck to what was best for his family, and Stone even suggested he didn't want to leave the NL. Drives me nuts how some people think you can hold a gun to every FA head and make them sign with you. The Sox made a good effort and lost. I hope they use that $125M on something else now.
What worries me even more is the Sox are trying to sign someone and keep coming up short. I don’t think that’s the case, but it’s hard to know for sure. They do seem to be attached to quite a few players this offseason.
If the season started tomorrow, I think this is roughly a 78-80 win team. I had the expectation they could compete for the Wild Card this season, so I’m expecting more to be done. Not to confident that will happen anymore.
Well, being left handed probably is one of the items at the top of the list. Maybe they see something they feel they can use to unlock his full potential? I also don’t think they should use Avi as the sole reason to not go after players with similar skill sets. I just hope the Sox have more in store for whatever is going on with their off-season plan. They have to use some money to get pitching. I can live with Mazara if they do that and utilized him properly (and protect the hell out of him against LHP).
