  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 11:19 PM) I remember people so happy saying no matter what that made the season. Look, you have no way of telling whether Big Jim woulda been this good for us. Oz wanted Kotsay/Jones, fine. Blame him. KW needs to make the personnel decisions; he didn't. Big deal. The pitching has been inconsistent as well. IT AINT OUR YEAR. It ain't Oz's fault. It just ain't. I thought after we won it all we'd dominate our division our least and make the playoffs A LOT. It ain't happened. s*** happens. Life baseball wise sure can suck. Aint.Oz's.Fault. 40 year old Thome is the Twins MVP. He's played inspired baseball since Guillen dissed him a few weeks ago. I'm very happy for him. I wonder if Sox management will get a share of the Twins playoff money. They were just as instrumental as anyone else in the Twins success. What sorry decision-makers they are.
  2. I will say that I like the trio of Sale, Infante and Santos. Throw Putz and Thorthon in there and that could be a very effective bullpen. No worse than Pena and Linebrink in there. No Jenks - he's gone.
  3. Is it humanly possible of Pena to come into a game and not give up any runs. I don't see the fascination with him. He's as bad as Linebrink.
  4. Brent is either doomed or headed to the HOF. You never know with White Sox draft picks.
  5. The Sox continue to have the best record in the majors since 6-6. They picked up 14 games on first place Minnesota in little over a month. And after tonight, they may be 5.5 games out of first. It wasn't meant to be. It just wasn't meant to be.
  6. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 07:31 PM) I hear this Manny Ramirez dude is OK hitting. Ozzie would never bat Manny third. He would be giving in to the fact his DH by committee was a epic failure. He doesn't want the Manny experiment to succeed.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 07:29 PM) The Twins are down 1-0 and Thome was a scratch with an ab strain. Maybe something can be salvaged tonight...like out playoff hopes? But no more starting Korsay and Teahen.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 07:24 PM) Its true. LA had a Berry and Barry in their system. KW thought he was getting one, but wound up with the other a 31 year old AAA filler. The other never became anything, so really no harm no foul, but I'm sure KW is a little more careful now if there are similar names in a system. Good grief, I never heard that story. So typical of Reinsdorf management personnel on the South and West sides of the city
  9. QUOTE (11and1 @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 07:14 PM) Do it now. Teahen plays, we lose. It never f***ing fails. Two more years of this loser? KW's Worst. Deal. Ever. Everything changed when Teahen left. Everything changed when Teahen returned.
  10. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 07:10 PM) I love Wimpy but he sucks as a play to play guy, where is Hawk??? Wimpy must be really bad if you're calling for Hawk. Probably doesn't matter, we got done in by the two most worthless players on this team. And why am I not surprised. This is why I want both Williams and Guillen both gone.
  11. The ball as it always does, finds your weakest links and kids it found both of ours.
  12. Teahen and Korsay responsible for 5 unearned runs in 2 days
  13. QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 08:19 PM) Is Kotsay the worst in baseball? Without a question... Reinsdorf wanted to catch lightening in a bottle with the entire offense. Man, it's gotta be hard to be the GM with two hands tied behind your back. The owner hand picks your manager and doesn't allow you to negotiate with the agent who represents the best in the game.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 07:55 PM) KW really needs to be looking to trade Teahen this offseason. He's an awful fit in the AL, as he'd be much better off playing in the NL. bill melton in his current condition makes that play
  15. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 08:08 PM) I've been on the Twins bandwagon all year; I think they're a really good team -- and better than us, 1-9. Their lineup is excellent. But the pitching is flat-out over-performing (particularly the back of their rotation and a fella like Matt Capps), they don't have Morneau, and Jim Thome is playing every day now and streaking. That generally means that (a) Jimmy's going to get tired; and (B) Jimmy, the ultimate streak hitter, is about to see his OPS take a little digger. And he's the key to their offense right now. Add it up, and you get a very good team, but not one that's going to average a loss a week for the next month. But, of course, I could be completely wrong. I think you're right. You will be completely wrong. The Sox manager inspired Thome to new heights.
  16. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 07:30 PM) it was a stretch to beat verlander with freddy on the mound. I'm fine with taking 3 of 4 in detoilet. No matter how you slice it, if the Sox are more than 3 games down in the lost column by next tuesday, forget it
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 06:57 PM) Time to shut down Garcia until he can actually pitch more than a few innings. And as Brian said earlier, let's hope he actually does sign elsewhere. No way you can keep counting on him. he can follow guillen to the marlins
  18. okay you ozzipologists, let me hear ya...tell me once again how kotsay > thome
  19. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 6, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) I'm just saying that's a long home run, I don't care who hits that. Everybody seems to be missing the point about Thome. The Sox left them out there for their only obstacle to the post-season to grab him. Didn't matter how much Ozzie was going to use him or not. That's why I'm angry at Kenny for not taking charged
