The Physics of Dunn's Swing
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 09:21 AM) I think most Sox fans would make this deal. Don't tell KennyGM. He'll trade Viciedo+Reed for him even though he's a free agent sitting at home (on a probably really small couch).

JR and KW need to clarify the direction of the "All In"
I wonder if maybe they'll produce some different ads now with maybe a somewhat altered message.... "ALL IN is not folding when you watched idle as your division opponents all added to their rosters" "ALL IN is not being able to trade for a difference maker because your farm system sucks" "ALL IN is not knowing when to close up shop for the year"

Bourn to Braves
a friend of mine is from Houston and goes to Astros spring training every year. Just posted on his facebook.... *thumbsup*

The Physics of Dunn's Swing
We should trade him for David Eckstein. He has short arms, chokes up, and has a really short swing.

Who Do You Dislike More?
Not sure how you could "hate" Adam Dunn. Its not like he's a bad guy. He just isn't performing well. He has come out and said so himself. Alex Rios doesn't really give you a whole lot as a fan to root for.... Adam Dunn, at least, I am rooting for him to pull through his slump. Whereas with Rios, I want to see him taken out back and put out of his misery.

Rumor: Rios/Thornton to Brewers for Gamel?
This isn't even a rumor. Rumors are based on some semblence of logical conclusion (such as a team need, etc) and an "insider source" like Rosenthal, Heyman, Morosi, etc This is utter nonsense stirred up by some jamoke on the twitters. PS - I was also told Mat Gamel kinda sucks. ...... Did you see what I did there?

White Sox Sued for Sex Discrimination
The whitesox are a bunch of racists. Ignore the latin manager, black GM and jewish owner.

Danks1 also on the market?
Didn't one of the Sox beat writers tweet yesterday that the Sox have said Danks will NOT be traded? I'll have to go check my twitter feed.... could swore I saw that somewhere.

Jackson & Teahen to TOR for Frasor & Stewart (RHP)
QUOTE (gatnom @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 12:28 AM) And then Jackson did as Jackson does. Not so fast. Saying that Jackson did as Jackson does would imply that he returned to some lessor form... which isn't the case at all. In his time with the Whitesox which equates to roughly one full season, he posted these numbers: 30 S 196.2 IP 11-9 3.66 ERA 174 K 57 BB 1.342 WHIP 114 ERA+ 3.05 K/BB Those are really impressive numbers pitching for a team that demonstrated trouble scoring enough runs to support quality starts. Comparing those numbers to his career averages, he is either entering his prime years and has it figured out (Thanks Dr Cooper) or Don Cooper is just some kind of magician.... 31 S 194 IP 11-11 4.53 ERA 145 K 81 BB 1.644 WHIP 88 ERA+ 1.38 K/BB Bottom line is Edwin Jackson pitched exceedingly well for the Sox relative to his career numbers and Kenny sold high on him.

Rumor: Rios/Thornton to Brewers for Gamel?
guy who sits next to me at work is a big Brewers fan and as big a baseball forum nerd as me - said that Mat Gamel is supposedly the Brewers replacement for when Fielder leaves next season and doubts he will be traded unless something good comes back to them from Sox.

Jackson & Teahen to TOR for Frasor & Stewart (RHP)
If there is a trade in the works, it will need to be finalized/announced/etc so De Aza can be eligible to play in today's game at 1:00.

Jackson & Teahen to TOR for Frasor & Stewart (RHP)
Rosenthal usually is pretty reliable and won't post or write about something unless he was able to substantiate it. I would "assume" that the fix is in on this trade going down. We should check Teahen's twitter. *shrug*

Jackson & Teahen to TOR for Frasor & Stewart (RHP)
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 09:21 AM) I wonder why the Blue Jays would go after Edwin Jackson. They aren't making the playoffs this year. They traded for Miguel Olivo in the offseason even though he was a free agent, strictly for the draft compensation, so it wouldn't surprise me. Why they would want Teahen (if the Sox aren't sending $$$ along with him) is a surprise.

Jackson & Teahen to TOR for Frasor & Stewart (RHP)
This whole "story" surrounding a late-night trade rumor tweet reminds me of the Zack Greinke trade. Some random dude tweeted a Brewers beatwriter at 2am that he had a source saying that the Brewers traded for Greinke... only to have the Beat Writer publicly ridicule him. Next morning, the writer had egg on his face.

WTF are we waiting for ? Call up Viciedo !
Aside from Viciedo.... What's going to happen when Pena comes back (if he does)? When Danks comes back later this week Hector Santiago will be optioned, but Bruney has been out performing any reasonable expectation for Tony Pena.

McKeon: "GUILLEN WOULD BE AN IDEAL FIT"
The Sox picked up his option for 2012. The option would have vested if the Sox won the division this season which is highly unlikely. If they hadn't picked up the option, he could have walked away. If the Sox don't want Ozzie to stay, they sure as hell aren't acting like it.

2011 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 10:25 PM) ...... and every thread, article, interview and call into a post-game show is ADAM DUNN and ALEX RIOS. AND - how f***ing unbelievably amazing and awesome Sergio Santos is.

2011 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (since56 @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 08:59 PM) Isn't KW the idiot GM? Rios, Peavey,Jackson, etc. Do the rest of MLB's Gm's play him for a fool or what? You forgot Erstad, Griffey, Kotsay, unThome, MacDougal, Teahen, the 2007 bullpen experiment, the list goes on and on....

Marquez out, Teahen in
MLBTR writes as if a DFA'd Mazquez is big news. He was outrighted in ST. He has cleared waivers twice now. Anyway, maybe Teahen can grab some ABs from Dunn now that Littlebridge is playing CF. Our Mendoza duo of Dunn and Rios can ride the pine.

Strained right groin for Jake Peavy
Went to the game today and sat in a variety of places during the game. First inning, we sat in the fan deck, dead center. Got to watch Peavy pretty closely (rhetorical comment there...) and where AJ put the glove is where the ball went. Everything had vast amounts of movement and he was hitting his spots with ease. Too bad he hit the wall when he re-aggrevated his groin, because he was dealing today. he was 0-2, 1-2 on almost every hitter until he went 3-2 on Brendan Bousch (or however it is spelled). Watched the 5,6,7 innings from right behind home plate and the Sox offense is just a sack of crap. Konerko and Beckham were the only two guys to hit the ball hard all day. Not even hard hit foul balls... these guys are just all off balance and not tuned in. Blame Walker, or whomever, but the offense is bad right now. Missed Adam Dunn's K, but saw the replay. Man it must suck for that guy. He got a standing ovation (at least in our section) when he singled today.

Brent Morel becoming Crede-esque
Morel in May: .283 .309 .377 Needs to hit more than singles... but.... he was always a slow starter in the minors. Every promotion he got, he struggled, then set the world on fire.

Sox vs Tigers Game Thread 6-3-11
QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 10:28 PM) As much as I want to rag on you for being negative following a win, you are right. Dammit. Ugh. Hard to imagine even typing it... but its true. Texting with a baseball-savvy friend during the game and we both concluded that Morel could become a better all-around player than Beckham.
