Announcer "Grinder" count up to 4 and we aren't out of the first inning

Sox signing Ervin Santana (pending physical) to milb deal per WSD
The sad thing is, the AL Central is so weak, they could probably compete with a vetteran OFer added and if one of the veteran starters turns out to be serviceable.

Rutherfold is in because Palka had hamstring tightness, so they pulled him early. At least thats what mlb.com is showing

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
I don't hesitate in any opportunity to point out that Barry Bonds cheated. That's all. Your points are all valid.

...and how much of that ability to hit is directly attributed to "science"

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
I was looking at his age-26 season, in 1994 - sure strike shortened and all, but my God... he was on pace to break every record that stood at the time.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
Think about how great he was that season.... then think about how comparatively BAD his MVP season was to any of Frank Thomas' MVP seasons.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
Offensively and cumulatively, Harper is a better player than Machado. Machado is a model of consistency and a plus defensive player. They are a wash. They are both elite. Neither will play for the White Sox.

Ordinarily I'd laugh at the Scooby Doo reference, but let's be real here... after the past 72 hours, I wouldn't put anything past this front office.

I feel like we're all on an episode of punk'd sports fandom edition.

that picture is probably from when he signed as a Gatorade athlete.

My father worked at the Gatorade Science Lab in Barrington in the 1990s. He retired in 1999 when they were bought by PepsiCo. Sorry, can't help. ?

Machado signs with Padres 10/300
I remember fondly back on the optimism of this thread from page 711 when I thought that we'd all get free slurpees.

Dylan Covey is an enigma. Some innings he looks completely untouchable and the next inning he can't get out of his own way. Tough call on Covey.

Marwin Gonzalez Signs with the Twins - 2 yr/21 mil
@bmags could also be commenting on my "analysis" of Marwin... I did kinda compare him to Delmonico ?
-
Marwin Gonzalez Signs with the Twins - 2 yr/21 mil
Um, I was implying Delmonico sucks.

Machado signs with Padres 10/300
Agreed 100% on this. The Padres paid asking price. The White Sox have clearly watched one too many episodes of pawn shop reality series.

Machado signs with Padres 10/300
Drew Pomeranz as well. There's a good reason Preller was suspended. And I'm sure most orgs would have fired a crooked GM, but not the Padres.

Machado signs with Padres 10/300
Yup. But we all know that's not going to happen with this ownership and front orifice... I mean office.

Marwin Gonzalez Signs with the Twins - 2 yr/21 mil
I'm pretty sure you could plug Delmonico in anywhere on the diamond. That doesn't mean he'd be any good at any of it.

Marwin Gonzalez Signs with the Twins - 2 yr/21 mil
I just realized 3 or 4 posters all labeled Marwin as "meh" while I was typing my post calling him "meh" LOL

Marwin Gonzalez Signs with the Twins - 2 yr/21 mil
Aside from 2017, Marwin seems kinda "meh". 21m is a lot to invest in an older player who isn't a great defender. Looks like his agent did well for him.
