Gregor: Sox talking about bringing up top prospects sooner
Felix Paulino... Sox got him last August from Philadelphia for Avilan. Phillies dicked him around in and out of the bullpen. Sox stuck him in the Barons rotation and he's been lights out. A year younger than Lambert and has a nice fastball slider mix.

Gregor: Sox talking about bringing up top prospects sooner
When I saw the tweet, I Kinda figured they were talking about Lambert and Paulino

Argument for Keeping Cease at AAA?
This was my assumption as well. The Sox FA has said in the past they want pitchers to experience some failure and learn from the experience before they call them up. Kopech went through this last season. But that statement was quite some time ago, so who knows how they feel about calling a guy up who has only had one shaky start.

my thoughts on a game like this (and last night).... Cease, Kopech, Lambert and Paulino are all coming quickly and will be dazzling us at the GRate soon. This is the baseball fandom equivalent to eating 3-month old frozen fishsticks you found in the back of your freezer the night before payday.

The Anderson Saga (continued from game thread)
Tim Anderson will compile more WAR in this season alone than Rex Hudler did his entire career.

3/10 vs A's, 3pm, whitesox.com
Palka is having a weird game... first AB he looked like he just rolled out of bed... second AB he completely obliterated the baseball.

patented Jose Abreu right there.... RBI double pulled down the line...

He's been 2-0... 3-1 almost all day today.

I love that the MLB.tv highlight of the 2018 world series is Sale embarrassing Machado on a backfoot slider....

yea, I don't get it either. Matt Thornton is his last true success story. Unless I'm forgetting someone, but since 2008, everyone's been forgettable.

a good way to ensure a high draft position for 2020... give Giolito 30+ starts.

He needs the ol Jon Garland treatment... drop the arm angle and throw sinkers.

Palka looks awful. I hope he gets enough looks before the season starts or its gonna be a rough April for him.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
Without reading through the 257 pages here... all I can think of to myself is Boras saying "The owner told me 'I have made enough money in my life, just tell me how much we need to get the player'" I can't imagine JR saying something so... careless.... to Scott Boras.

Who is your top 2019-20 free agent target
I just want to emotionally survive this season before I subject myself to another "Jerry's too cheap" offseason again in 9 months.

3/5 - Home vs. Pads (Giolito) / Away vs. Cleveland (Cease!!!)
I'm guessing that L is now in reference to the game's likely outcome with Leury getting 4 ABs

3/5 - Home vs. Pads (Giolito) / Away vs. Cleveland (Cease!!!)
Sounds like he needs to get one of those Mike Trout oven mitts to wear when baserunning

3/5 - Home vs. Pads (Giolito) / Away vs. Cleveland (Cease!!!)
Pretty sure the 3-inning / 5-inning thing is the penalty for not running out a grounder. Ricky makes the player stare into the sun for 3 straight innings. This is especially bad considering today is a Giolito start, we all know how long his innings can last. edit: words

KW: "It's a shame" the Sox are being portrayed as cheap
Brooks Boyer right now....

KW: "It's a shame" the Sox are being portrayed as cheap
This, unfortunately is a big part of the problem. Regardless of whether or not the fans like or dislike what they franchise does (or in this offseason's case, DOES NOT) do... it's largely irrelevant to their bottom line. They will still have the same TV deal, same Merch royalties, same MLB Advanced Media payout, etc, etc, etc....... JR very well likely stands to have the same profit margin from having a cellardwelling team fighting for a top-5 draft pick every year, as he would if he invested heavily in the roster talent via free agency. If he drops 300m on a 26 year-old on a hall of fame trajectory, it changes the culture of the franchise for fans, but does it bring him the same return on investment as the rest of the roster? Aside from the obvious "winning for the sake of winning" what does he have to gain? The fans' adoration? As if..... I'm sure I'll get called out here for gross ignorance, etc.... but I make these decisions every day, working on software dev (most common case being "buy vs build"), obviously on a much smaller scale than ol Uncle Jerry. But think about it... if you were asked to either invest $100 to make a $100 - or invest $10 to make $25 - you stand to make the most by putting up the least. This has ALWAYS been the case with JR and the White Sox and it's never going to change.

Garpax vs KenHahn
Having not watched a Bulls game in probably 20-something years, I've learned an awful lot about the Bulls in this thread.
