Tony Stewart purposefully ran someone over?
cabiness42 replied to Steve9347's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
We're about to find out a whole lot more about the kid's drug use since the family is intent on filing a civil suit and the defense will almost certainly examine that part of his life thoroughly. -

I'd like to see the Sox win Saturday for Paulie, but don't really care about the other games.

That's really the biggest point in all of this. Both parties do what they do for money and power. Any help that any Americans get as a result is coincidental. Political system needs a major overhaul.

It's a $99 fee for the wireless unit, not so much for installation, but I'm going to be saving about $40/month over cable so I don't mind shelling out the $99 up front.

Plus all the players who had DL time, so they were really a 120 win team.

Well, there is a fine line here. One of the tenets of Christianity is spreading the faith to others so that they can enjoy the eternal rewards. Now, there is a difference between inviting somebody to learn about the faith and passing judgment on those who decline that invitation. There is also a difference between sharing your faith with people you know personally and plastering it all over the internet. You have to use discretion. I'm not coming on here and preaching my faith to anybody. I'm not even bringing it up unless it's a topic like this that is specifically about religion. I'm more than willing to share my thoughts with people who show interest, because that is my obligation, but I'm not coming to this message board for that specific purpose.

Separate thread for this or keep the discussion here?

I agree with this 100%. I am a Christian with somewhat conservative theological views, but I have left churches twice in my lifetime because they have gotten too political. Churches and their members need to wake up and figure this out.

It's not a huge mystery. Just about every policy the Republicans have is not beneficial to lower-income people.

She seems to be quite a bit more conservative than the likes of McCain/Romney/Christie. Is being a female Hispanic really going to fool moderate liberals into voting for her??

Since I'm already a TWC customer, I'm certain that they will charge me for coming out. I'm not currently a DirecTV customer, so they're going to have to offer to do it for me really cheap if not free if they really want my business.

The AL Central is likely the only race to still be up in the air over the weekend, so there is a good chance that Sox-Royals end up on MLBN once or twice.

Well, two of the four lines will have TVs. The other two will not, but they are in the bedrooms of kids aged 6 and 4, so I don't think I want the wifi equipment at either of those outlets.

OK, what was constructed with the house was a box on the outside of the house. The box has one coax input that can come from cable/satellite, and then that box splits the signal to the four rooms in the house that have built in cable outlets. It was what the DirecTV was originally connected to and now it is what TWC is connected to. So are you saying that the TWC will have to continue to run like it is now and that DirecTV will have to run a new line from the dish?

Jeter has been overrated because his SS defense has never been nearly as good as everyone has made it out to be, and he has also been overrated in the sense that when you stack him up against pure hitters (Thomas, Pujols, etc.) his numbers pale in comparison. He has been underrated because of the incredible offensive output that he has produced while being above average defensively at the most difficult position on the field and doing so for a very long time.

Really dumb tech question: I used to have DirecTV with DSL internet, but the internet really sucked. I switched to the local cable company (which is now TWC which is being bought by Comcast) mainly because of the much better internet. Now DirecTV is making me ridiculous offers to switch back, and the TV portion of my bill would be much lower, but I'm not willing to give up TWC's internet. So, my question is, can DirecTV television and TWC cable simultaneously run through the same cable wiring in my house?

I'd rather sit through 81 Cubs home games than listen to that jackass for five minutes.

So far this series Detroit has failed to score against: Bassitt for 7 2/3 innings Petricka for 1 1/3 innings Carroll for 4 1/3 innings

Yes, perfect candidate for long man in the pen. He can eat innings, is decent first time through the order, and he's not really a prospect so you don't stunt his growth. -

2014-2015 NCAA football thread
cabiness42 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
OK, so my contact at ND got what he considers to be some semi-reliable information. All five players are having their university hearings this week. This will determine whether or not they receive any university discipline, which may or may not involve being dismissed from school for the current semester. After those hearings are over, the athletic department needs to determine whether or not NCAA rules were violated that would cause ineligibility of the players beyond whatever university discipline is in place. My contact has heard two different opinions on what the expected outcome of the case is: 1) Russell and Daniels will be cleared, the other three will be gone for at least the rest of the season, but there are no NCAA violations that would cause probation or vacating wins. 2) Only Russell will be cleared, the other four will be gone for at least the rest of the season, there are minor NCAA violations but no wins will need to be vacated. He believes #2 is closer to being accurate. -
