This seems to be along the lines of the Scandanavian socialist model. It won't work here. Scandanavia didn't have over a century of slavery followed by a century of segregation that created a massive underclass. You can't just instantly legislate social equality the way that Scandanavia has. There needs to be a lot of incremental progress in dealing with America's problems.

Bernie couldn't win a super-white state like Iowa. That's why he's going to have problems when they get to southern states. Polls show Hillary has the black vote locked up. Very ironic that Hillary is going to win the nomination largely due to states that she won't win in November. What an odd system for picking candidates.

This I think spells it out pretty closely. His positions are extreme, even compared to other Christian conservatives, and he is flat-out hostile to anybody who disagrees. It's also that he was willing to go so far as to shut down the entire government over the funding of Obamacare and then Planned Parenthood. He's letting immediate moral absolutes obliterate any sense of compromise for the long-term good. Another good line from that article:
-
I say this as a Christian-Ted Cruz is a prime example of everything that is wrong with American Evangelical Christianity right now.

Democratic Caucus = actually a caucus Republican Caucus = a primary where you have to vote at a specific time rather than within the usual 12 hour window

I'm pretty confident that Bloomberg only runs if Bernie beats Hillary. I don't see Bloomberg taking on Hillary.

It flips next year. Bears get to play the two worst divisions in football. Ten games against 7-9 or worse teams and two more against 9-7 teams.
-
Half their schedule made the playoffs, so that makes sense.

His agent has to come up with someone to be in competition with the Sox to try and get a better deal.
-
I get your point, but in reality, how many 4ER, 9IP games exist?

I don't really consider myself a Libertarian. I vote that way as a means of a protest vote to the major parties continually nominating s***ty candidates.

The reason he got six years instead of seven is that he went for two when it was completely unnecessary. -

Ventura: "White Sox have potential to be dangerous"
cabiness42 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
These position players are no longer on the Sox: Alexei Ramirez, Tyler Flowers, Gordon Bekcham, Conor Gillaspie and Micah Johnson. That was 1519 PA worth of pure suck. Between Melky, Avisail and Laroche, the good bet is the combined production of the three of them is at least a little bit better than last year, if not significantly better. On the pitching side, Jeff Samardzija, Hector Noesi, Daniel Webb and Frankie Montas are 292 innings of suck that are either gone or figure to be in AAA to start the season. Every single pitcher slated to make the Opening Day roster except Danks was at least good if not very good or excellent last year. This team is going to be a lot better. Maybe not enough to make the postseason, but close enough that the money coming off the books after Laroche and Danks are gone can make a big difference. Plus I still think this team adds a free agent OF before ST begins. -
Is any team loaded enough to survive a top 3 starting pitcher missing all/most of the season?
-
Not me. Buehrle had an ERA+ of 112 and 104 the past two seasons. Danks had 79 and 83.
-
I agree with that. I'm as close to a true independent as you get. I've voted for at least one person from each party at every level except President. I've never voted for a Democrat for President, though I haven't voted for a Republican since 2000. Libertarian every time since then. Probably Libertarian again unless Bloomberg makes a 3rd party run or the Republicans somehow miraculously nominate Kasich.

I don't think Bloomberg can take states from Hillary. He could definitely take some from Bernie, though. That's your nightmare scenario, a three way race between Trump, Bloomberg and Bernie that ends up being decided by the house. Oh, in case you're wondering because I was, I just looked it up and the House is restricted to choosing from the three candidates with the most electoral votes, so they couldn't go off the board and vote in Rubio or anybody else. Because if those are their three choices, they might actually do that if they could.

I'm confused. You said it may spread through sex and then you said a wife got it from a husband. Which is it?

As long as Brazil doesn't have millions of people traveling there this summer for a major event, they should be fine.
-
I'm pretty sure Hillary gets to 270 in that situation. In most states, all you need to do is win the state to get all the electoral votes, and I think she wins enough. I also don't think Bloomberg even gets in the race unless it looks likely that Bernie is the Dem nominee.

Speaking of outfielders, Jermaine Dye and Magglio Ordonez both turn 42 today. If you're older than them, you're old, but if you're younger than them, you're young. That's what I tell my wife.

Doesn't Soxfest start tomorrow? I don't think a significant addition is happening in the next 24 hours. I do still think the Sox add an OF by the start of ST.
-
He'd get my vote.
