Sorry, I've been watching a lot of Olympics. NBC probably won't tell us that Santiago got sent to Charlotte until next week.

Another possibility is that the Sox rarely use Olmedo and Hudson both in the same game anyway, so you could cut one of them loose and add a 3rd catcher, or shorten the bullpen by one guy. Santiago hardly ever pitches anyway.

I don't know, but it's only 23 days until September 1, so if not, slam a door on his hand and stick him on the DL.

Rios and Dunn not moving in batting order
cabiness42 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Hitting is a very streaky thing by nature. By the time you switch the lineup around, the hot guy may have gone cold and the cold guy may have gotten hot. I would use full season stats to make lineups before going by any 30 or even 60 day stretch. -
Rios and Dunn not moving in batting order

That would make a very interesting lineup, for sure! My theory is that I want B and F at the top of the lineup because they walk a lot and I need good hitters behind them to drive them in. I want C right after those two because he's hitting well enough to drive them in but also walks enough that he still needs good hitters behind them. I want D and E after C because they are going to drive in the runs and they won't have many wasted walks with no more good hitters behind them. As for A, I can live with batting him first to have another decent OBP guy on base for my best hitters but I can also justify batting him sixth so my five best hitters all get more plate appearances. So I would do A-B-F-C-D-E or B-F-C-D-E-A -

Assume that you have these six guys to place 1-6 in your lineup. In which order would you put them? Player A: 4th in BB/PA, 6th in SLG Player B: 1st in BB/PA, 5th in SLG Player C: 3rd in BB/PA, 4th in SLG Player D: 5th in BB/PA, 1st in SLG Player E: 6th in BB/PA, 2nd in SLG Player F: 2nd in BB/PA, 3rd in SLG -

Russia over Lithuania and Spain over France in Men's Hoops Quarterfinals. -
It's not in a 401k, and I've already checked into it and there is no withdrawal penalty for former employees.

I'd be leaving my employer, so there would not be a penalty for cashing out beyond the normal taxes.

Has anybody ever left a job for a lower-paying job due to location, more interesting work, etc? If so, did you regret it? I applied for a job at a place that I would absolutely love to work in a location that I really desire due to family reasons. The formal interview/selection process hasn't begun yet, but I have connections telling me that I am their top candidate. They are also telling me that the salary is about 20-28% less than what I'm making now. Within 3-4 years, my kids will be in school and my wife will be finished with school and adding a second income to the family, and if I cash out some/most of my retirement savings instead of rolling it all over we can probably maintain the same standard of living until then, but I just wanted to know if anybody else has gone through a similar experience.

Yes, but you have to do a pretty s***ty job as the incumbent President if that many people think Ross Perot is a better option.

Dunn leads a group of six players by 2 HR. Dunn leads Ben Zobrist by 10 BB. Dunn leads Carlos Pena by 22K. Barring injury, the walk and strikeout titles are pretty much clinched. He's going to have to keep up or possibly even pick up the pace to get the homers crown though. Somebody from that group is going to get hot. Past winners are Babe Ruth four times, Hack Wilson, Mickey Mantle, Mike Schmidt, and Dale Murphy all once each. Dunn is also on pace to break the TTO% of 58.2 set by Jack Cust in 2007.

Twitter: Don't use. Don't see the point in it. Facebook: Very handy, especially if you don't live near a lot of your friends/family. Good venue for sharing photos and information. Also handy for organizing events. Edit: Not sure why this is in Filibuster instead of just SLaM.

Not able to help you out with the tickets, but very sorry to hear about your mother. Lost my father six months ago and it still hurts.

Unlike their soccer counterparts, the women's hoops team had no troubles with Canada and is easily through to the semis.
