Maybe, but Texas sucks and GT and USC already have 2 losses. Only hope for ND to get a signature win is for Stanford to run the table up until they meet. A 2 loss SEC team probably gets a spot over a 1 loss ND team and I don't even think I could argue with that.

Historic Sox Audio...
That series was my last straw with Berman. I haven't watched a single thing he's been involved with since.

There goes any chance of an 11-1 ND team having a strong enough schedule to make the playoff (still don't think ND goes 11-1 though).

The Republican Thread
Yes, pretty much. They're also from some of the most conservative districts in the nation, so they will never have negative repercussions for their actions. There is no chance for a Democrat to unseat them in November, or even for a more moderate Republican to defeat them in the primary.

The Republican Thread
Boehner has said that his resignation will not become effective until a replacement is in place. Someone in the mainstream of the party needs to grow a spine and tell the 30 thugs that they don't run everything.

Brian Kelly isn't going to get fired. He's in that infuriating zone where he's performing well enough to keep his job but not well enough to excel.

Far right is getting control of the party, which isn't good for anybody.

Try to sneak them through waivers now before other teams have cleared 40 man spots of their own.

Kid-friendly restaurants in Chicago
All the museums close at 5 so Woodfield Mall is an option for one evening. Yeah, they would like Legoland. Not sure I can afford to let my wife in that mall though.

Kid-friendly restaurants in Chicago
I've been to Hawks games before, the noise would have my 5 year old crying before the national anthem is over.

Kid-friendly restaurants in Chicago
I just looked this up and it is 3 blocks from where I used to live. Is this place new since 2005? I certainly don't remember it. It does look like a place the kids will love, though.

Kid-friendly restaurants in Chicago
They CityPass included a choice between the art institute and the planetarium, so we are going to do the latter. One of the kids doesn't eat pizza so we may not do a pizza place.

Kid-friendly restaurants in Chicago
Taking the kids to Chicago for 4 days next week. First time taking them there for anything other than a Sox game. When I lived there, my main criteria for picking restaurants was the quality of margaritas and/or beer. Probably need to adjust that for this trip. Those with kids who live in or have traveled to Chicago, what are some good restaurant suggestions? Our hotel is in Schiller Park so either in the city or the near W/NW suburbs is our target area. Also, we already have the City Passes that cover the Skydeck and all the museums. Planning on LP Zoo as well. Any other must-visit places for the kids (ages 7 & 5)? PS: Is it bad of me to want the Cubs to lose tonight so the city is less crowded next week?

I gave you four winners when I told you to bet the under on all games in the Carolinas. Games at Duke, Wake Forest, NC State and Clemson all came in under.

Names on the back of player jerseys
Maybe one of the reasons the Sox have such lousy attendance and TV ratings is that their fans let things like whether or not there are names on the jerseys bother them too much.

2015-16 NCAA Football Thread
From the PAC-12 ND plays USC and Stanford from the every year. From the ACC ND plays 5 teams every year, which in most years is going to include at least one of the top 3 teams in the conference. From the Big Ten ND plays MSU and Purdue semi-regularly and OSU and NW occasionally The schedule also usually includes at least one other power 5 school like Texas, Washington, Arizona State, Georgia, Oklahoma One or more of those teams may be in down years, but there is always at least one season-changing game. Clearly this didn't happen, but hypothetically if ND had run the table after losing (controversially) to FSU, is there any doubt that ND would have gotten that 4th spot over OSU, TCU and Baylor?

Nobody's saying ND should get a lot of credit for beating Texas, though as bad as Texas is they're still way better than Samford. If ND finishes the season with only 1 loss (which I doubt happens anyway), the fact that Texas sucks will hurt.

If TCU had played an FBS team, even a mediocre one, instead of Samford they would have jumped OSU without the 13th game.
