  1. I've had dinner at Cheesecake Factory twice and really enjoyed it both times. Not talking about just the cheesecake. Had entrees that I really liked.
  2. The inner/lower part of the stadium is the original 1930 stadium. This is the part that you probably feel "needs a complete overhaul," but there are no plans for major renovations to this part. The outer councourse/facade and upper section were constructed around the original shell and opened in 1997. What is being constructed now will be attached to but entirely outside of what was built in 1997.
  3. Just looking at this weekend's schedule and struggling to find a game that interests me.
  4. Cheesecake factory is excellent and right in the Hancock Tower, but it might fall into the fancy/pricey range depending on your definition. For pizza there is Giordano's (Rush/Sperior) or Geno's East (St. Clair/Superior) Ditka's is at Chestnut/Rush but again may be pricey depending on your definition. My other favorite in that area was Heaven on Seven but I think they closed the Rush St. location and you'd have to go down to the loop now.
  5. I actually went to ND though, and even worked for the football program for a year, so that's a bit different than just being the obnoxious bandwagon fan. I also find a lot of those ND fans annoying.
  6. I root against the Cubs for the same reason I root against the Yankees and Red Sox--their obnoxious fans don't deserve to celebrate a championship.
  7. If an ND fan cries like that, feel free to post it. That's not really trolling when the video has a million views.
  8. I'm not suggesting that the officials should make a judgment call. Clearly pass interference penalties do negate likely touchdowns. Instead of having the officials decide whether or not that's the case, just have a blanket rule that any accepted penalty in the last 2 minutes could include a clock rewind if the accepting team so chooses.
  9. Maybe not in this particular situation, but catching the ball could result in going the rest of the way for a TD.
  10. End of regulation of the Bears game exposed what I believe is an exploitable situation that deserves at least discussion for a possible rule change. Losing team is down 3 points with 10-15 seconds remaining and offense already in at least marginal FG range. Offense throws a deep pass that, if caught, could result in a winning/tying TD. Unless the defense is 100% certain that the pass will not be caught, they benefit by intentionally committing pass interference. Yes it's a spot foul, but now with less than 7 seconds remaining, the offense will always elect to kick the tying FG. The defense should intentionally commit a penalty to trade yards for seconds. I'm not saying that Detroit was actually thinking at this level, but it makes perfect sense. I don't know if there could be a rule that, in the last two minutes of a game, the team accepting the penalty can have the option of having the clock revert back to the beginning of the previous play.

  12. http://www.masseyratings.com/cf/compare.htm This is a fascinating page that I could stare at for hours: A compilation of 91 (mostly computer) rankings. Never heard of many of them. Utah ranks first in 40 of them and is of course first in the aggregate. Baylor ranks first in 21 of them but is only seventh in the aggregate because many of the rankings really don't like them. As low as 93rd(??) in one of them. OSU ranks first in 11 and is second in the aggregate. Two of the rankings apparently missed the last 10 seconds of one of the games and have Michigan ranked first.
  13. This trade is getting the Sox a comp pick who should be a better prospect than Semien was.

  15. Arrietta - not even the best starter in Chicago wearing #49.
  16. I've been in the exact opposite situation a few times.
  17. 1 Utah 2 LSU 3 Ohio State 4 Clemson 5 Michigan State 6 Iowa 7 Baylor 8 TCU 9 Oklahoma State 10 Florida State
  18. Nobody deserves to lose like that. Except Jim Harbaugh.
  19. 1 Utah 2 Florida 3 Ohio State 4 Clemson 5 LSU 6 Texas A&M 7 Michigan State 8 Baylor 9 TCU 10 Iowa
  20. No wonder Buehrle wants to retire if this is the defense he would come back to.
  21. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/kevin-...4b0082030a1e0a8 The threat of exposing an affair may have contributed to McCarthy's sudden decision.
  22. Right now, Utah and Florida have the most impressive wins. I'm not saying I think they'll stay up there or even that they're one of the four best teams, but based on body of work they deserve it as of right now.
  23. If I had to rank teams right now: 1 Utah 2 Florida 3 Ohio State 4 Oklahoma 5 Clemson 6 LSU 7 Texas A&M 8 Michigan State 9 Baylor 10 Northwestern
  24. I noticed that he was really quiet when the other announcers were pointing out that the Astros young players were very good at being patient and taking pitches.
