Flipping back between the channels. Reynolds ruins MLB. How is he still doing the draft? -
Mlb Network just mentioned Bitsko has only thrown 33 high school innings and 10 innings in showcases. Crazy!!!!

Mock Draft 3.0: The Day Of by Eric Longenhagen sox pick Crochet Showing interest Abel and Bailey
-
5 out of the 6 players I would deem not safe. Detmers is the 2nd best lefty in the draft and wouldn’t need a lot of development time in the minors . Yes I agree Detmers is safe.
-
Should take Detmers Will take Abel Would be happy with Detmers, Abel, Hassell, PCA, Howard, Hendricks unhappy: Crochet, Bailey, Kjerstad on the fence with Soderstrom Im not really interested in safe picks
-
We know you have a hard on for Crochet and I don’t. Poreda had a plus slider also and pitched as a successful healthy starter in college. Crochet has been a reliever, has had shoulder issues due to his short stride, and you say he has a plus change up but has difficulty getting right handed hitters out. Again a lot more safer picks at #11. Name some pitcher comparisons that was mostly been a reliever and became a successful and injury free starter. My mind is a blank. We have Dunning, but that’s proven he’s had a difficult time health wise. I’m sorry, but at pick #11 I don’t want a reliever. How often does a Picking reliever in the first round workout? Barely ever
-
Crochet is more Poreda than Ring. Poreda couldn’t get right handers out and his plus velocity disappeared fairly quickly.
-
One of my big questions I have with Crochet is how unsuccessful he’s been with right handed hitters. That’s very troubling in his college career as a reliever.
-
Kiley has the Sox taking Kelly in the 2nd round. Shocked if he lasted that long. Totally agree I see reliever with Crochet. Scary that they are all agreeing Sox will be taking him in the first. On a happy note around 4 other organizations are high on Crochet (Rangers, Phillies, Cubs, and Giants). Those 4 organizations have had trouble identifying pitching in recent years. Also realize Phillies, Cubs, and Giants have new Director’s in place for the draft.

I’m not sure Walker will be there at #47. Like the idea!!! Strength of the draft is pitching see the Sox doing something similar to last year. Kiley McDaniel has been reporting many clubs will be drafting seniors in 4th and 5th rounds to go after high school players.
-
How would you rank the high school players in this year’s draft class? Exclude Veen because he has no chance of dropping
-
Tim Anderson and Luis Robert never learned a new position like the other 4 players I mentioned. I know Soderstrom has more talent than Bush, Curbello, Delgado, and Fisher, but they struggled defensively with the transition of learning a new position and still developing as a hitter. I just feel their are far better safer and higher HS ceilings than Soderstrom.
-
I’m a fan of Detmers, but Law and PTATC bring up questions that make you pause a little with possibility of losing velocity pitching every 5th day and core/flexibility issues which can lead to injuries down the road. Love Detmers curveball and we need a lefty. I would be happy if Sox selected him. We need to hit on this pick after Fulmer,Collins, and Burger. Whether This pick makes it on out ball club or as a trade bait for a playoff run. I do feel more confident with how the Sox has played catch up to the rest of league in the analytics and development department. Just need to continue to see improvement on development of our young hitters.
-
Most scouts lean on him not making it as a defensive catcher. His next best position might be 3b or LF. Sorry, but I want someone up the middle or even has a chance in RF. Their needs to be so much development done with Soderstrom And it scares me the White Sox would be able to make him into a key asset down the road. They’ve been struggling with developing players and moving them around (Bush, Curbello, Delgado, Fisher). Yes I know Bush and Delgado are both young still, but still are miles away. I also like Hassell, PCA, and Hendricks hitting profile better than Soderstrom. I agree with Law that their needs to be some mechanical changes done to get more power in his bat. Too much work for the 11th overall pick.
