  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 09:43 AM) Rick Sutcliffe used to say tendonitis is what they say you have when they don't know what's wrong with you. Love the Geddy Lee pic.
  2. Cause for Concern-Barnum has missed the last 19 games because of a shoulder injury. Any news on his progress and to the extent of his injury.
  3. I don't ever really remember hearing Shelby and Harris being considered future starters. They had high hopes on Richar, but was a complete bust.
  4. Nice job Sox on another tough high school signing LHP Jordan Guerrero.
  5. I believe Leesman has the potential to have a longer career in MLB than Axelrod. I highly doubt it will be as a starting pitcher, but I think he can become a solid lefty in the bullpen. The major thing holding back Leesman is his command of his pitches, but has seen steady improvement the last year and half. Plus he's a lefty. I have seen so many Axelrod's in my lifetime to know that he will be a pitcher that will pitch with 6 to 7 different organization as a back end filier when an injury goes down: Kip Wells, Grilli, Wright, Harrell, Wells. Some of those guys I listed had so much more potential than Axelrod. Axelrod isn't suited for the American League and I believe he's more of a AAAA just like Dan Johnson.
  6. Heidenreich is a sinker ball pitcher who pitches in the low 90's. He keeps the ball low and is a ground ball pitcher. He's more in the lines of a Jon Garland type pitcher. Plus, Heidenreich is just scratching the surface. He's 21 years old with the potential to add some MPH to his fastball. Great starting pitcher frame 6-5/195. Changeup is starting to develop into an average pitch. Big Fan of him
  7. I think Axelrod really hasn't proved that he can make it as a starter in the majors. He's had 5 starts this year and only 1 was considered a quality start. Yes, his good start was against the Yankee's, but Arod, Granderson, and Jeter were getting the day off. Axelrod will get eaten alive in the Cell. His pitching arsenal doesn't suit our ballpark.
  8. I don't have Jordan Danks anywhere near the Top 25. He's a 4th Of at best. Also, I have Dylan Axelrod way down in the rankings again at best a 5th starter on average/below average team/long reliever. Shocked how high Danks and Axelrod were. 1. Hawkins 2. Castro 3. Mitchell 4. Barnum 5. Thompson 6. Walker 7. Molina 8. Sanchez 9. Johnson 10. Rienzo 11. Saladino 12. Beck 13. Hernandez 14. Leesman 15. Petricka 16. DeMichale 17. Snodgress 18. Heindenrich 19. Septimo 20. Axelrod 21. Walters 22. Olacio 23. Phegley 24. Ravelo 25. K. Smith Just missing Soptic/Semien/Ayala
  9. Just finished watching the Future Games: Carlos Sanchez made an impression. Hit a double off Jameson Tailion and made 2 nice plays at 3b. His natural position is 2b, but shows nice flexibility to play multiple positions in the infield. Has a really nice level swing. Definitely will be moving up the rankings for the White Sox.
  10. What happened to Erik Johnson in his start left after 3 1/3. Injury?
  11. The highest ranked player we were linked to with possibly signing Amed Rosario, ss, Dominican Republic just signed with the Mets for $1.75 million.
  12. 15 out the Top 20 ranked international players have already been signed. 21 of the Top 30 already signed. Stupid comment about first day. First day is huge.
  13. International signing started today. Sox have $2.9 million to spend, but have yet to make a splash. Need to join in the spending-Jerry.
  14. Eric Jaffe signed reported by Baseball America
  15. http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/draft/...ollege-seniors/ Very good article on what teams are doing to take advantage of the new system.
  16. Solid pick can hit. Sounds like the defense needs work. With Beck, Hopefully the Sox see a mechanical issue with Beck and fixes him back to way he was pitching in Cape Cod.
  17. Keith Law mentions Keon Barnum one of the worst picks of last night. Just one man's opinion. This pick was definitely a reach, but I like White Sox change in philosophy going after some high ceiling high school players. It will be interesting to see if they pick any more high school players in the 2nd or 3rd round. After the 3rd round majority of solid high school picks will be looking to enroll in college because the new financial hit. High school players are the strength of this draft, eventhough it's one the weakest drafts in years.
  18. Baseball America had him Ranked #155.
  19. Definitely a Right Fielder-Big Boy
  20. Don't mind the pick, especially like their open to drafting anyone. Not just college guys
