  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 02:47 PM) I guess you don't want to watch our starting pitcher tomorrow then You are talking about Peavy? Well he knew that he was injured. His intentions were to help the White Sox. Lol. Well he eventually came and is glad that he came.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 03:30 PM) what part of "HE DOES NOT WANT TO PLAY FOR THE WHITE SOX" doesnt make sense to you? Let me put it in SOG format Ryansterski doesnt want to play for fly snazzysox I cannot imagine any player not wanting to play with the White Sox. He must be pure evil.
  3. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 02:18 PM) That Kyle Hendricks guy has some damn good peripherals this season, s***. 7 k/9, 1.0 BB/9. Only 15 BB to 112 K. Woah. Couldn't we have matched this offer? Hope Hempster does bad with the Ringers.
  4. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 01:58 PM) Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN Rangers land Ryan Dempster Just say no Ryan just say no. Lol
  5. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 01:47 PM) I guess, but it all depends how bad Tigers want him, also, it will be somewhat of a quirky trade to work-out due to the fact Cubs are going to have to eat a ton of that contract, so it's not likely a trade that can get turned around quickly. Soriano is not the type of player that any team is clamoring for, might be a good add for some team, but nothing that any GM is going to have a meltdown over IMO. Giants wanted him but AS(s) vetoed that. There might be another team out there that wants him. He could Be a good DH. Why didn't he want to go to SF? Outfield too big? Just loves playing for the northspiders?
  6. If Tiggs want him, don't they risk losing him. Chubbies could deal him to another team before the deadline.
  7. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 01:32 PM) someone who is a little more familiar with the process could correct me if need be, but Soriano will clear waivers, no team is dumb enough to take that money, then Cubs and Tigers can work out a deal that would include Cubs eating some of that $$$ Yeah that sounds right. What is the advantage of waiting. Just wanting more time to iron out details? Could Soriano veto a Trade after clearing waivers. He has full no trade clause, doesn't he?
  8. Reds are good. Dang, dusty i trusty. Going for no.1 seed.
  9. Wouldn't the Tiggs rather make the deal before waivers. Then they could have the cubbies pay part of his salary? Not that I care. Soreyano can barely run and is sloppy on the field. Kinda funny how the SCORE just repeats stuff like this about 15 Minutes later. Lol.
  10. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 01:10 PM) per mlbtraderumors. Guess that is good for Scotty. Diamondbacks are only 3.5 games out of first. Get away from valentine and Boston where things could get ugly.
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 01:10 PM) Great addition in the near term. Next year when you can only DH one of Prince, Miggy, VMart, and Soriano....that defense will be crazy bad. Yes. Please take Soreyano, Tiggs. Let him hop around there lol.
  12. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 12:42 PM) Bruce Levine ‏@ESPNBruceLevine Dempster told me he has expanded his list to Yanks and Texas as well as Dodgers. I don't think the Yankees really need a starter. They have CC, Kuroda, Nova, Hughes, Freddy. Pettite is injured by I think that he might comeback this year.
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 12:57 PM) I don't believe LA even really wants him - it's just that Dempster really wants LA. On SCORE, they said dodgers out for dempster. Yanks and mystery team in. KW can be mysterious. Lol.
  14. QUOTE (Caesar @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 06:33 PM) 2-1 Boston The regular lineup is back and strong. none of that decaffeinated stuff.
  15. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 03:55 PM) I would trust Floyd over Dempster. I don't think I want a NL guy who has to learn the AL this late in the game. He wouldn't have to learn, just trust the catcher (AJ Zynski or Austin Flowers). Pitchers should have advantage over hitters when neither has faced one another before. Peavy did great in his first few starts when he transferred from NL to AL. Holmes on Score said somebody about Dempster woke up from a nap and was told that he was traded. Even though Demp never was told about trade. Sounded like Pubbies management didn't handle it well. Hopefully Demp hates the management over on the Northslide.
  16. KW will make an explosive trade at the end. It is kinda like a fireworks display. They put up some of the nice ones on the board to get it started. Finally at the end they just throw up everything else they have left. It will be like that. By the way, did St. Louie give KW a playoff share last season. Of course, Kenny was part of the biggest trade last season at the deadline. How the heck did he get rid of Teahen and his contract? That was amazing. And also helped St.L get a starter and get rid Colby who wasn't fitting in. We are reaping the benefits of this trade still. We traded Teahen, Jackson, Lillibridge for Youk, ca$h and saved ca$h.That 2011 deadline trade benefited the Cards last year and so far the White Sox for this year.
  17. Yeah yeah Mr. Screwball get ready to start. We are going to need ya and that screwy pretty soon.
  18. JR told MB to sign that contract. MB will be welcomed back to this organization in some capacity after the Marlins. I don't understand the booing of Thome. Maybe not cheering...but still he did so much for the Clevelanders. Not even close to having as bad an exit as King James. lol.
  19. Could just be a ploy or a decoy by KW. Get word out that there is player they really want to move. Then receive offers and start to get an idea how much value Floyd has. Maybe KW plans to pick up that club option or work out a deal with Floyd. Just a possibility. Or Floyd could be traded within minute. haha. That is how it works.
  20. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 02:37 PM) How many starting pitchers do we need exactly? I don't know. 6 or 7. Get Dempster for a couple sucky low level prospects with low ceilings, trade Floyd and Beckham for an upgrade at 2nd base. I think that could be a plan.
  21. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 02:29 PM) Actually, I believe due to the CBA changes and abolishment of the Type-A and Type-B rankings, the Cubs would get TWO early picks if they offer Demp arb and he signs elsewhere. They would get the pick from the team that signed him, and a supplemental pick. So essentially two 1st RD picks. That's all assuming he doesn't accept arb though, and signs w/ a new team. Which if he really wants to come back, then that's all moot anyway. Wouldn't that be risky for the chubbies? This dude might be crazy. He could just accept the arb. Just releasing him would eliminate that risk, wouldn't it? Pay him this year and not be on the hook anymore. Maybe get a little bit back if he signs with another team this year.
  22. So Floyd is making $7M this year. $9.5M club option next year. Don't think Floyd is worth $9.5M. I could be wrong though b/c starters seems to be paid now at a high premium. Guessing though that nobody would pick that up since Floyd could be resigned for less or structured a multiyear deal at a lower yearly rate or backloaded. From our perspective then, Floyd is a potential FA and thus a good piece to move. His numbers for the last five starts have been great thus we could sell high here. Also save a little bit of money that could be used toward another piece. Now why would another team want Floyd? They are only getting a rental unless they pick up the option or believe they can work out a fairly valued multiyear deal. If some team though does want Floyd, White Sox could try to upgrade at 2B and include Beckham in the trade or spin off into another trade. Still though it seems like we would have to acquire another starter somewhere. Hmm. A lot to think about it. And sending Santiago down to the minors could be a move to stretch him out to be a starter...maybe an insurance starter for this season.
  23. If we cannot get the Dumpster, then I want to see him NOT get traded. Then what? Couldn't the cuBS just release him? And then he could just decide not to pitch the rest of the year or chose where to pitch for the rest of this year.
  24. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 02:16 PM) Maybe the Sox should try to get back into talks with the Cubs. At this point I am sure they can give them a better deal than LA? Humber and a low-A pitcher. Get it done! It would get easier for KW if Dodgers find a different starter. Then where else would dempster go?
  25. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 12:15 PM) His BaBIP is .298 on the year, lower than his .309 career mark. OK, thanks I didn't have that info. Heard one guy on the radio say that it was high. Apparently he was wrong. I do know that if Man Francisco reduces his walks that would help a lot.
