Just pitch Sale at games at home for rest of season?
sunofgold replied to sunofgold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Could give Sale a few more days offs and pitch him Monday. Don't think TieDyer will hold Zoolander back. -
FIRST PLACE WHITE SOX. Let us hope that we aren't sharing this with the TieDyers after today. I ain't no hippy, I am a White Sox capitalist.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 06:04 PM) Chris Sale good. Everyone's annoyed at D2 and Reed and Myers. D2? Like R2D2 and C3PO ... Where did those bros go?

QUOTE (BlackBetsy @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 09:26 PM) Statistically, who do you start in place of Sale on the road? It's a good idea relative to Sale's performance at home, but not a good idea relative to the REST of the potential starters. Sale needs to be 19-20 wins for the Sox to make the playoffs. There are 24 games left - he's got 4-5 more starts lefts, and the Sox need to win 4 of those games. You must be a big fan of the win stat. If that is the case, Nate Jones should get some starts since he is 7-0. 1.000 winning percentage. He cannot lose. -
QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 07:42 PM) A win is a f***ing win. It's good to see the Sox recognize that Detroit is not going to lose all of its games... You NEVER Know Tiggs could lose all their games As the seas Part into two Opening the playoff path To the good guys wearing black

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 08:59 PM) It's a good idea statistically, but will never be adopted. If they had the choice between skipping a start at home versus on the road, it would be pretty clear cut where he prefers to start, though. You never know. They seem fairly flexible On when they start him. I hope that they are At least thinking about it. They probably are. -
Guess what? 26 saves is a White Sox record for a rookie. I say keep him as closer. And there isn't a better option right now.
-
Really? You are thinking in depth about 2013. Heck we are going for It in 2012 and I am enjoying every sec of it. Lol.

It is just a way to get Sale some extra rest. And it would also put him in position to start a potential tiebreaker game or hopefully game 1 or 2 of a playoff series. Floyd or Axelrod could fill in for the start missed on the road which I believe would occur during the KC series. -
Got the job today. Sure it was like riding a big fast upside-down spiraling rollercoaster. But at the end, itsallgood.

First place ...still...yeah. Either 1 or 2 games up after the Angels-Tiggs game. Guaranteed at least a tie with Tiggs going into the showdown with them. lol. Could be up 3 if everything swings our way.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 05:00 PM) BTW how did Sale look today? Great. Exciting, huh! Welcome to September baseball. Got the win. If they have to be like this, that is fine as long as we grab the win.

Before todays start Home ERA 1.74 .188 BAA Away ERA 4.01 .257 BAA Looking at the schedule, this could Sales starting schedule this way 9/13 Thursday home against Tigers skip the road trip (9 game trip)...basically skipping him a start 9/24 home against Indians (first game of series) 9/29 home against Rays (third of four game series) skip the three games series away against Indians ready for potential tiebreaker game or hopefully playoffs Really just skipping him one start which has been suggested by many here.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 01:27 PM) Last I checked, Wise is lefty too Yes a lefty pitcher. DeAza bats .000 against Chen. Wise bats .333 against Chen. And we don't have a right handed OF to play in place of 'Lil DeWayne.
-
QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 02:19 PM) ??? matchup. Chen is the starter for KC and is lefty. DeAza also bats lefty.

QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 01:44 PM) Woah optimism 25 saves is pretty good. maybe he is going through a tough stretch. Hopes that he works through it.
-
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 12:19 PM) We should enjoy this because after this year the immediate future of this team does not look promising. Because the world ends in 2012?
-
QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 02:08 PM) Why isn't De Aza playing? Because he doesn't bat right.
-
QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 11:04 AM) I'm ready to see a hot streak. How about 6 in a row?!? Sex in a row for the Sox. Sounds great.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 10:17 AM) This question was already addressed, re:Greg775 This is now the AJ motivator thread. Post your false rumors here, upset AJ, And then he will hit a dinger and extend his middle finger to the mud slinger.

WHITE SOX still in first! If nobody else wants first, we will take it. Just stay a step Ahead.

QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 8, 2012 -> 09:45 AM) AJ not happy about the BJ by Internet message board. He better talk to DJ To calm down. Put on your best PJs and I will meet you at JJs

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 09:52 PM) Morel=3B version of Gordon Beckham. Maybe worse. I said for defense. Not for hitting. If morel was on the bench tonite then Lopez could Have been pinch hit for by Flowers, dJohnson, or Hudson. Morel could have then come in the game In the ninth as a defensive replacement.
-
Maybe morel should have been called up. Lopez was our only option at third. Hudson isn't playing third anymore. If you have Morel, you can use him for defense and could pinch hit for Lopez in a situation like tonight.
