  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 26, 2012 -> 06:27 PM) Awesome! Mariners fans really hate the White Sox right now Mariners ain't in a race. Actually they are in last. Sorry. They waited and try to Get the game on but apparently mother nature loves the White Sox right now.
  2. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Aug 26, 2012 -> 06:25 PM) He may strike out/take a lot of strikes but he sure does try to have a quality AB every time he is up. He is so damn strong to where he makes contact its either a screaming meme or a no doubter. I wish I knew if this game was being called or not.....I live in Ohio so how nasty was the weather? ...usually whatever hits Chicago hits Toledo shortly. Jones got the win right? he might wind up with More wins than peavy. And basically flowers hit a walk off home run that wasn't walked off.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 26, 2012 -> 05:22 PM) T-FLOW! After T-showers comes thee T-flowers. He hits his Tylerbombs far. long range bombers.
  4. Hawk Harrelson is great. And it gets even better when he transforms into hawk quarrelsome. He is entertaining. I love when he tries to turn our deep flies balls into homers. stretch...C'mon stretch. Lol. Dangit. Lol.
  5. Oh, the Floydster has ED. Viagra might be the solution. Get well Gavin.
  6. Gavin Is now GavOUT . Floyd bannister is a great reference since he played for the White Sox and Mariners. I wish that we had the '83 Floyd Bannister on our team (excluding the '83 playoffs).
  7. QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Aug 26, 2012 -> 10:44 AM) Merkin tweeted that Robin said there's a window for the game to be played. How about a scoreless top of the first, just for the novelty of it. Just need to get in 4.5 innings and have a lead. Best chance for GavOUT Floyd Bannister to get a CG.
  8. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Aug 26, 2012 -> 11:29 AM) Schaller's Pump. Grab a seat at the bar and it's only a 15 minute walk to the game if the tarp gets pulled and they decide to play ball. Hmm Floyd pitching. Never know what to expect. However I expect us to continue to own the m's. Would be huge if Floyd could get on a good roll and puts up a lot of bagels.
  9. QUOTE (sunofgold @ May 11, 2012 -> 11:33 PM) I think Clemens has some good defense behind him. Just throw some doubt in there. Pettite might have misunderstood/misremember/etc. Pettite went along with it. Basically saying that you aren't 100 percent sure. I think Clemens will not be indicted. and you cannot say that Pettite committed perjury under oath. Great plan. I foresee both of them pitching for the yanks this year. Okay I was partially wrong. I meant to say that Clemens will pitch for the Astros this season. He is probably better than any other pitcher they have right now. Lol. Yanks might want him though. Hopefully Andy and Roger can put this behind (pun intended) them and work together on pitching stuff (pun intended)
  10. QUOTE (zenryan @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 10:48 PM) they already give too many rings out these days. they should trim it down some. my uncle played for a team that won the World Series in the 80s. He had a W-L record but only had about 20+ innings out of relief for the first half of the season and the team voted on him getting a WS title watch instead. A WS title watch? Never heard of that. Your uncle should have gotten a ring. He did pitch 20+ innings. That is my opinion. They already are giving rings to players who are probably not the most deserving. Just on the right team at the right time. Timo Perez has at least 2 WS rings. Marte has 2, I think. I lose track and he almost pitched us to defeat in game 3 of ALDS even though he pitched okay in game 4 of the WS.
  11. Thanks for the feedback. I still think that it is a great idea but needs some tweaking. Didn't players like Adkins and Casanova (pun intended) get rings for 2005. This would be an honorary World Series ring for players like Thome. You could engrave the word HONORARY on the ring. Of course this ring would not leave the player feeling as great about it as much as being a starting player or contributor on the postseason roster of a team that wins the World Series. It is like a honorary degree given by college. It is honorary. It is definitely a better and more rewarding experience to actually go to a school and complete the requirements to earn a degree. But still people are proud to receive honorary degree. Also getting back to baseball it could be an honor and fun for somebody like Thome who pretty much has been a great ambassador for baseball. Imagine how cool it would be to get an ovation from fans in every stadium in MLB. To put on the uniform of every team and be able to say that you played for every team. Seems like it would be an honor and fun for somebody like Thome. It also would be great for the fans.
  12. Just thought of this idea while in the john. You always hear about how it is disappointing that certain outstanding, classy players never received a world series ring. I thought about honorary degrees given out by colleges. How about something similar in baseball. However, to make it more fun than just giving it to the player why not figure out a way to have the recognized player play/coach for all 30 teams during one regular season. For instance, we can use Jim Thome. in 2013, Thome spends at least one game on the active roster of every MLB team in baseball. To make this easier, maybe a rule change. You can have 26 guys on your roster if Thome is your 26th guy. Can you imagine what an honor and how much fun a guy could have playing for every team and wearing every team's uniform. Interacting with every team's players, coaches, and fans. I know that this idea would need somE improvements to it. But what do you think of the basic idea?
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 08:04 PM) Does he have to pass through waivers? Yeah. Good chance somebody would claim him bc his salary is low.
  14. If White Sox weren't in contention he would have been traded at the deadline. I think this is it for Peavy with us. Too much money. There will be less expensive starters available in offseason and we have options in house. We are riding him hard this season to squeeze all of the juice out of him that we paid for. And he doesnt seem to mind bc he has that John Wayne/Rudy mentality. Good chance that he might decline pitching-wise next year.
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 05:34 PM) You can't steal 1st base. AJ
  16. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 05:22 PM) Let's be honest, when Lillibridge was here, he was more the 5th outfielder, than backup infielder. no? Kinda crazy that we had to trade Escobar and Lillibridge recently. Of course, it was worth it to trade them both. But now we need a super sub. Not much out there and other teams are going to be looking for the same thing.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 05:02 PM) if you are talking about players to replace Hudson, why did you name two outfielders? Because I read somewhere that KW was looking for a LH bat off the bench. If you find a guy like Uribe or Blum who can backup 2b, Ss, and 3b then you could carry another OF. Just talking about the bench. No much you can really do now. Just try to make minor improvements. Not like I am going to agonize over missing out of any of these bench guys. Lol. Abreu should clear waivers since he is being paid a ton by the Angels. Dude can still hit. a veteran bat might not be a bad thing.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 04:53 PM) This is the EXACT SAME ISSUE. The sox need to replace Olmedo. Not Danks. Well Blum is available to replace Olmedo. I am talking about players to replace Hudson. Jordan Dunks is untouchable right now.
  19. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 04:45 PM) Hudson is sitting around doing nothing right now. Could be used as a pinch hitter for Beckham. Possibly Damon? Nothing official. But Cleve's might release the Caveman. Good friends with AJ
  20. QUOTE (GO CHI SOX! @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 04:41 PM) Robin rarely has anyone pinch hit. It's hard to carry an extra outfielder who's duty is to pinch hit while going with a 6 man rotation. There's just no room.. Hudson is sitting around doing nothing right now. Could be used as a pinch hitter for Beckham.
  21. QUOTE (GO CHI SOX! @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 04:33 PM) I think I would rather pick up Dewayne Wise instead. Plays better D, can play all over the outfield, left bat, and can steal a base. This would be for offense mainly. Pinch hitting. Abreu is a better hitter than Wise. And Kenny has always wanted Abreu. KW always gets his guy....5 years later.
  22. Left handed bench guy that KW wants. I just read that he was hitting .316 as a pinch hitter. KW always wanted him. Back to work South Side Kenny.
  23. QUOTE (Jillian Michaels' Abs @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 03:14 PM) He unfriended me on facebook after I posted on his wall that he sucked at hitting sliders. Be careful on the twitters, he'll un-follow you if you are critical of him and his baseball skillset. C'mon Mr. September. Stay healthy, bring your glove. Don't let them bat you 2nd...ever. 8th or 9th always. Call me maybe...sept 1?
  24. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 12:10 PM) Morel flys out on a lazy fly ball to center on the first pitch of his 2nd AB Brunet. Stay healthy. Could always use another pitcher in the arms race. Call me maybe..in September?
  25. cuBS haven't hit bottom yet. This is great news. No Dumpster, Malholm, Johnson, Soto. And sorianos and garza probably gone soon. They should suck even more next year. Meaningless games for the cuBS for awhile. Just chances to get experience for their young players. No guarantee their rebuilding will work. Oh yeah and they have a crumpling stadium. They need to rebuild that as well. This is a good time for us to be winning. let's keep it up.
