  1. Runs added/lost on the basepaths: 1. Blue Jays 6.7 2. Reds 6.6 3. Astros 5.9 ... 28. Rays -5.2 29. Rockies - 5.5 30. White Sox -11.4
  2. Avi now 1 for 4 in stolen bases this year. But Kenny Williams still believes he's a future 30/30 player.
  3. Eddy Alvarez 2 for 3, 2B, 3B, BB
  4. White Sox have swung at ball 4 29857289572 times this year
  5. Kevan Smith is hitting well at AAA. If the defence is even okay you'd think he'd be getting a call sometime this year.
  6. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 9, 2015 -> 04:53 PM) And so will his K rate. Well if you're playing that game so will his .379 BABIP and 20% HR/FB rate. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 9, 2015 -> 04:54 PM) 1 walk 2 k's today ..............era still 5.73 It's been 11 innings. He just had a 1.98 ERA.
  7. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 9, 2015 -> 04:49 PM) K rate not going to save his job Pitchers with high K rates and low BB rates almost always tend to see their ERA come down.
  8. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 9, 2015 -> 04:46 PM) Putnam may be the odd man out when guys get healthy. 11.70 K/9. He'll be fine.
  9. Really interesting how Cleto has completely stopped walking people
  10. Surkamp 5.0 IP, 2H, 1R, 1BB, 7K. Might be in a minority of 1 but I maintain that he's a starting pitcher who should be considered the Sox's 6th or 7th starter.
  11. QUOTE (reiks12 @ May 6, 2015 -> 10:42 PM) I hope our Belgium and Ireland bros didn't give up
  12. QUOTE (Dunt @ May 6, 2015 -> 09:23 PM) I'm not even sure why I'm up still watching this. It's 4 AM in Belgium and I'm still caring about this team. Gone 3am in Ireland and feeling the same
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2015 -> 08:01 PM) If the front office thinks Avi is a future 30/30, it shows you just how terrible they are at scouting. Maybe 30/30 is 30 weak ground outs to left side and 30 misplays in RF? That's so worrying. I hope Hahn doesn't think that. Meanwhile, Gameday had no clue on that pitch from Simon.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2015 -> 07:53 PM) But wasn't that also when he had the best slider in baseball? Yeah I'd guess that it's less effective when he's only throwing 9% sliders rather than 18% but it's still rated as his best pitch, both this year and over his career
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2015 -> 07:50 PM) That change-up is a terrible pitch. Easily the worst of his 3 main pitches. I have absolutely no idea what's going on with Sale this season, and Cooper/Flowers just need to leave this organization. Chris Sale's changeup has long rated as one of the best pitches in all of baseball
  16. Just goes to show how quickly things can turn around this early, Gillaspie's almost hitting at league-average now (95 wRC+)
  17. A homer AND extra bases for Micah? We're being spoiled
  18. QUOTE (PorkChopExpress @ May 6, 2015 -> 03:17 PM) I'd like to see them try Garcia in the 3rd spot, and bump Abreu and LaRoche back one. I know it messes with the R-L-R-L-R thing, but you could also swap Ramirez and Gillaspie and still have R-R-L-R-L. Garcia is not showing a lot of power yet, but he's hitting the ball and getting on base better than anyone else right now. Shake things up. No
  19. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 5, 2015 -> 09:12 PM) Is that recent info because I found an article that said the same thing and it was from 2011. Most pitcher should be around 80-100% of their height. Robertson is way beyond 100% and that does add "virtual" velocity to his pitch speed. Nope it was from that source. Don't imagine it's changed that much though.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2015 -> 08:48 PM) Doesn't he get the most extension in all of baseball? Yep, 7 feet, compared to average of 5 feet 10 inches.
  21. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 5, 2015 -> 08:46 PM) He gets swings like he's throwing 100 Release point
  22. Rondon 2014 as a RHH: .303/.352/.576 LHH: .220/.297/.242 2015 as a RHH: .389/.389/.667 LHH: .170/.290/.170 That doesn't include tonight's homer which came as a RHH. Time to ditch switch-hitting?
  23. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 5, 2015 -> 08:02 PM) Some people don't give a rat's arse about that. You're just basically raining on our parade of seeing the one Sox player with a high BA. Let us enjoy the one good high average guy while it last. Yes it's due to drop thank u very much . All we hear is this guy is sucking and the one guy not sucking you're saying wait he will suck. Some of you guys just can't just watch and enjoy the game because it's baseball and the Sox. That's enough for some of us without repeatedly hearing it's a mirage. What makes you say I'm not enjoying Avi hitting .340? In fact I think I'm enjoying it even more because I know it's lucky.
