  1. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 29, 2014 -> 08:46 PM) Flowers looking like old self again. "Tyler Flowers is so good it's scary" - greg, like 2 weeks ago
  2. Michael Taylor 2-4, triple, home run Jared Mitchell 1-1, double, 3 walks
  3. Adams only went 2 innings. Promotion?
  4. Another couple of strikeouts for Adams in the second, along with a single and a groundout. That sweet K:BB ratio keeps on truckin'.
  5. Adams with a wacky first, 3 strikeouts, 3 hits and 2 runs, both unearned after a passed ball.
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 07:35 PM) Do you think he's doing it at the expense at home runs/slugging %? Not necessarily. He had a sky-high home run per flyball rate which was always likely to come down a little, even though with the type of hitter he is it should remain high compared to the average. From what I can see, the big difference with him compared to the start of the season is he's a little more willing to take pitches outside the zone, even though he still swings at a hell of a lot of them. This is causing pitchers to pitch in the zone a little more, and he's lethal in the zone.
  7. Eddy Alvarez 3-4, hitting .483 for Kannapolis over a not-tiny sample size with walks and power, 25:31 BB:K ratio in pro baseball.
  8. Eaton's wRC+ now at 120. If he can maintain something near that and stay healthy, we're talking about a 4 WAR player.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 08:12 PM) Abreu's hit tool is so much better than expected I was actually a little surprised he wasn't hitting a little better average and OBP wise, when he was at .260/.305ish, given his Cuban stats as compared to Puig and Cespedes. That's come around now.
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 08:08 PM) They'll just trade him to Texas for someone much younger. Still so mad at the Rangers for that
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 06:56 PM) So if there is 30 teams and he is about 90th, that is a pretty solid #3 or 4 starter, which is what they need him to be. You should try to watch a game and just enjoy it instead of having to go reference Fangraphs to see if they can explain to you what you watched. Well no, because a lot of pitchers who are not qualified have provided a lot more value than Danks. I don't have to reference Fangraphs to see if they can explain what I just watched, I use it to supplement and improve my knowledge. I enjoy both the game itself and reading about the game. On the flipside, a lot of people could do with reading a bit about advanced statistics, because there were quite a few on here talking about how Danks was back earlier this year just because his ERA was under 4.
  12. QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 06:48 PM) But 54th in quality starts. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 06:51 PM) I see no TWTW column Considering nobody's reading this thread anyway, a random thought: how dumb was it for the Tigers to give Cabrera a new contract last offseason, considering his contract expired after 2015? His value was hardly going to rise. The only thing it could really do is decline, and it has quite a bit. wRC+ of 138 this year compared to 191 last year. His value would actually be hurt worse but he's benefited by moving from being a liability at 3B to slightly plus at 1B. A decent amount of it is driven by a probably unlucky HR/FB% but still, that contract is gonna start hurting big, and soon. It's all the more bizarre when they moved Fister partly to clear money.
  13. Danks's pitching stat ranks, of qualified starters: ERA: 88th of 93 FIP: 93rd of 93 xFIP: 92nd of 93 SIERA: 89th of 93
  14. DE AZA DOES NOTHING BUT MAKE PLAYS
  15. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 06:24 PM) Do not know why he will not be part of it. That makes it all the greater a gesture
  16. QUOTE (1dog @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 06:13 PM) ADA with yet another brain fart to start this one. I am convinced there is nothing up there at this point. He cares about our draft pick. He's planning for the future.
  17. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 06:09 PM) He says he's pitching tonight on his Twitter My guess is he goes for Great Falls in the first of their double-header, a rain-interrupted game with 3 IP completed It's actually Matt Ball. I guess Adams is still with the AZL Sox.
  18. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 06:04 PM) Let's make a run at this thing Only 12 GB of the wildcard. That's much less than 1 game per day.
  19. If he was suspended for that, one would think he would have deleted it
  20. He says he's pitching tonight on his Twitter My guess is he goes for Great Falls in the first of their double-header, a rain-interrupted game with 3 IP completed
